Does anyone have any experience with the Platinum brand from Best Buy? I've always ignored them in the past but today I noticed that the cases for the 13 series are made from Horween Leather, which is the same leather that Nomad uses. It might be a good alternative for some of you.

Unpopular opinion... I really don't like the Caudabe Sheath
Good:
Thin
Good fit and finish
Great buttons
No saggy lips

Bad:
Feels slippery to me
The texture doesn't feel good in my hand. Rough without grip

Am I alone?

You know when I had my X I loved the Sheath. But every phone since then (Max sized) I haven’t for the reasons you mentioned. Even last year I preferred the Ringke Onyx over it, which was similar.

I really like Caudabe as a company and have had very good experiences with them. I have to agree that there are plenty of times when I find the texture too rough and not really grippy. As someone else said, this is especially the case in the colder months.

I’d prefer that they go back to a smoother material. The versions with the 7 and prior were nicer to the touch to me.

Still, great company and great mission of minimalist cases.

I’ve used the MagSafe sheath for my 12 pro and 13 pro max. Biggest issue for me is that the power button is always way too clicky and the back ime can be grimy looking.

Navy Andar Aspen leather case for my Sierra Blue
I got the Navy leather AirPods case for free when they screwed up and oversold my initial Camel Tan color choice.

Don't have the new iPhone but I got me a Defender Pro for only $3.00 at Wally World for the old beater.

Somehow this $3.00 Defender feels so much better than the $60.00 Defender

Getting a bargain always "feels" better. Sale and free are my favorite four-letter words. This case was sold out at Best Buy when I got the pre-order for my 13 Pro Max so I got an Apple silicone case as a stop gap. When Best Buy restocked the Defender Pro, I returned the Apple case and got Otterbox case for $37.

I’m going crazy. I don’t know what to get with a gold phone. I don’t want to do a clear one. I normally get the graphite phone

I’ve found this seller on AliExpress and it looks like there’s some interesting leather cases. I’m not sure about it, but I’m interested.

Did your Nomad come in??

It did, at first I wasn’t sure about it as the glossy back makes it a bit slippy to hold compared to the Apple silicone cases. However I have been using it for a about a week now and it is a great case. Their new Apple Watch sport bands are also fantastic, I got one earlier this year and I’ve been using it a lot.

Interesting, they seems to describe it as having some sort of texture to help it not be so slippery despite being glossy. Hmmm not sure if I should check it out. My hands are typically dry so many cases feel slippery to me.

I'm on board with the unpopular opinion of the Sheath. I haven't tried this year's version but I got one last year and after using it for a day it was sent back. I can see the appeal because it's a nice fitting case but Apple's leather had it beat in every metric.

I started with Apple leather in Midnight this year because that's what I always end up using and so far have not purchased any additional cases. Gotta say I'm proud of that. The only problem is I've found I prefer the 13 Pro with no case so still money wasted.
I think I’m headed in same direction. The Sheath was a favorite for my previous phone and I got the midnight leather this year.

It’s nice, but I’m at the point where putting a case on each of these phones makes them all feel the same. I really appreciate the squared off sides for caseless…just need to do so longer than a day.

It really is a durable device. It's hit our hardwood floor pretty hard a couple of times already. Not a mark (except for that pesky scratch that appeared on day one).

And also another great reason to not purchase another leather case despite how much I like the various offerings. :)

We could be the same person. I’ve been through most of them and there’s a new one out there that’s tempting but I’m winning the battle.

Has anyone tried the Spigen Silicone Fit series? I’m interested in it but not a fan of those super bulky silicone cases.

How much bigger is the camera cutout on the 13 Pro Max compared to the 12 Pro Max?

Would the 12 Pro Max look funny in a 13 Pro Max case?

It works… but it doesn’t look the best, there’s clearly a gap given the smaller camera module in the larger cutout, it would likely accumulate fluff and crud through the day. Also while buttons are useable they are also slightly off.

I’ve shoved my 12 max into the 13 max otterbox aneu as an example
…really should have wiped down the case 🤣

Friend just got the Defender Pro for his new 13 Pro Max and let me try my 12PM in it. It fits but that camera cutout is a little large. The cutout seems off center and much wider on the left side. Here is a quick pic:

Accidentally posted this in the “12” thread…

To those that have a Caudabe Sheath, does it have the full magnet array….circle with the vertical magnet below the circle or does it just have the circle. In other words, would it work with the Apple Magsafe Wallet, etc and not spin around? Thanks in advance.
