Picked up the Snakehive leather folio for the 14 Plus, wonderfully made with a really nice nubuck leather, great wallet section although I doubt Ill use that.

So Cal
Shame I didn't find this thread before, since I change cases regularly.

My case preferences are:

- Otterbox Symmetry
- Smartish Gripmunk
- Ringke Onyx
- Nomad Rugged Case (Orange Edition)
- UAG Pathfinder
- Speck Presidio 2
- Caudabe Sheath
- Spigen Liquid Air
what is the smartish gripmunk or gripzilla like? as far as the grip goes. can you or anyone compare it to say the grip on the dbrand or otterbox defender xt? how is the magsafe strength?

Why hasn’t anyone been able to come out with Kevlar/carbon fiber with protection over it that doesn’t smudge like the elementcase a used to have?

The Smartish cases, IMO, are slightly below the dbrand as far as grip is concerned. The great thing about the Smartish cases is that they are contoured to fit your fingers as you grip the phone. So you get some extra leverage.

I believe you said you found the dbrand to be a little too grippy/textured? If so, the Smartish cases may be a good option. The clear version will yellow pretty quickly (my youngest stepson uses one on his 13 mini).

Phone Rebel Gen 4 Frosted would be the "Perfect" case if it had the Synthesis bumps on the sides
Yeah…any kind of grip or texture would be a welcome addition. I joked to my wife that I never dropped my 13 Pro when it was in a case except for when I had it in the Gen 3 Frosted. I dropped it three times in the week I had that. No way I’d consider the frosted for my 14 Pro Max. Bigger phone + slippery case = pointless.

If I did get a frosted for my 14PM, it would have to have grip stickers added to the sides.

Okay. Thanks. You just saved me some change, lol.

I’m still rocking my Catalyst with orange buttons and loving every minute of it.
what screen protector do you guys use with the catalyst? haven’t returned mine to amazon yet. i’m using a wsken glass which is an easy no dust install. but doesn’t work with the catalyst.

The Belkin from the Apple Store works with the Catalyst. I ended up removing it, but I always eventually tire of screen protectors. I have AppleCare, so if my screen breaks it is cheaper to pay for a new screen than it is to buy a decent screen protector, so I am not sure why I bought the screen protector to begin with, haha.

The Gripmunk is excellent as far as thin cases go. I feel my phone protected and the feeling of the case is awesome. Magsafe feels stronger, but not too strong. Defender XT is bulkier compared to the Symmetry.

I’m using this Power Theory Designed for iPhone 14 Pro Max Screen Protector Tempered Glass, Includes Easy Install Tray [Case Friendly] Sensor Protection / 2 Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B6CQKJV...JV9&ref_=cm_sw_r_apin_dp_V4JFTYVXR92M5NNH6R56

Even though it goes right to the edge but it doesn’t seem to affect the screen protector (lifting, bubbles)

No, I like the Catalyst better. The Gen 4 Frosted is a fantastic case with no grip :(
I just got the Catalyst on Friday. Been running it since and don’t see myself taking it off. The grip is great, it’s slim, and no fingerprints. I guess if I had a gun to my head to pick one thing I’d change it would be that the transparent part was a shade lighter/less grainy to make it easier to see thru. But that’s what hides the fingerprints so I’m good with it. Love the little holes on all four corners, gives it a unique look…. Excellent case. Wish I had tried it sooner and saved all these other poor cases from the dreaded drawer….😂

i got a spigen screen protector (same day from amazon) did a successful install and now i’m giving the catalyst a second try. initial impression is it is a very clean look. great screen protection. i too like the holes especially since every once in a while when i go say hiking, i like a lanyard. it’s great that one can be installed without having to remove the case.

iPhone 14 Pro. Got the Spigen Ultra Hybrid in graphite. It's clear except for the mag safe ring. I never use it anymore, the phone's too gorgeous to cover up!

I think all of our grip needs will be solved with the Rebel Gen 5 after seeing his teaser of it. Yeah the frosted for the 14 Pro Max needs some more grip but I haven’t have any issues honestly. It’s usable but just wish it had a little more something on the sides.

Hope so man. Was bummed after seeing your video. You would think grip would have been thought about.
