Because work is so perilous for phones I am considering a rugged case. I've been using the basic Apple silicone cases and have been very happy with them. But recently several managers have had accidents with their phones and it's making me think I've been too lucky for too long. Time for something like UAG or Otter Box/Lifeproof for my newish 14 Pro.

The easiest solution would be to leave my iPhone on my desk in the office, but we need our phones on the loading dock to document situations with pictures and to field calls from employees calling out. So I'm thinking a higher level of protection than what's offered by simple silicone is necessary.

I know I want MagSafe compatibility but I'm not concerned with appearance. What does everyone recommend?

I’ve been using the Smartish Gripzilla, working construction. I briefly tried the Dbrand Grip again since I like their Steam Deck case so much, but wound up back in the Gripzilla within a week. I used a Gripzilla on my previous phone, and if I upgrade again this year, I’ll most likely buy another Gripzilla. I don’t see myself using another case; nothing feels as good in the hand to me.

I don’t know if MagSafe strength is important to you but if not than the Catalyst Crux still feels slim and comfy in the hand but has big corners for shock absorption. But also I agree with my guy above, Defender XT is a solid choice also, just a big more bulky but that’s what a rugged case is…

Really like the black Sheath, only about 2 grams lighter than the Mous limited I have been using, smaller though and magsafe is excellent for my car holder.
Cut outs are correct and wasn't a fan of the big lip on the bottom of the Mous for swiping up.

My Amethyst Caudabe Synthesis and Sheath arrived today. I’m currently using the Synthesis and my first thought was how light this case is. The grip on the sides are nice and the color matches very well with the Deep Purple. I think this case is a winner for me.

I was on a one off build with our new work premises and must admit with an Apple silicone case it was fine but alway Found little bits of grit/sand would end up in my pockets and light scratch the screen over time.

I don’t think the otter box do the built in screen protection like they use to so in the end i just started using an Old iPhone onsite and kept my new one in the truck.

What's the weight difference between the 2?

I really can’t decide. I have a casetify bounce but feels pretty big on. I want protection though and I want good MagSafe strength. The mous is great at all but MagSafe lacks some. Phone rebel looks good and better MagSafe but frosted is slick and carbon fiber gets nasty after some time. Not sure what to do.

Anyone using the Torras with the ring on the back?

I think it’s the UPro

I don’t know if it’s in my head, the Sheath felt heavier than the Synthesis. The Synthesis has a better grip and feels lighter, and essentially since it’s pretty much almost the same case as the Sheath except for a few differences, I’m going to return the Sheath and keep the Synthesis. There’s no point in keeping both cases and there isn’t another color besides Amethyst that I wanted that matched with my Deep Purple.

It is heavier, but I don’t know by how much. (I never weighed the Synthesis when I had one, but the Sheath is 50 grams.)

I liked the Synthesis except for one thing: the camera plateau. That thing was massive on the 14 Pro Max. I just couldn’t do it.

I just gotta say that ever since I was talked out of the camera housing protectors I just think they look terrible. The steel camera rings over the glossy glass is just such a lovely bit of design kit, not to mention super durable.

To each their own obviously but it’s been bubblin’ behind me lips for far too long.

Never got tempted by one of them. In fact I like to go naked most of the times but only put the case on when I’m outside of my normal setup.

I agree.

I ran one for a few weeks and liked the look of it. Wasn’t till I took it off that I realised, actually I didn’t.

I got used to the camera plateau on the Synthesis and like the case more for how light it is. This one will definitely be a keeper.
