Would you be able to tell me, Mous vs Symmetry, which is wider? My Symmetry is just a tad bit too wide for me to comfortably wrap my pinky around the edge one handed.
The Symmetry is just slightly wider, by approximately 1-2mm.

Thanks. I think I’ll return my Symmetry (even though I’m in love with the color 🥲) and try out Mous next time I see their green in stock.
One thing to be aware of is that the Mous is slightly more sharp on the back edges. This seems to bother some people but it isn’t a problem for me.

I’m (finally) pretty much settled on my top 5 for my 15PM. From here on out I’ll just be occasionally rotating among these:

  1. Mous Limitless 5.0 (one each in aramid and walnut)
  2. Phone Rebel Gen 5
  3. Otterbox Symmetry
  4. Nomad Rugged
  5. Pitaka MagEZ Pro 4
I’d love to see other people’s top choices now that many seem to be settling on a few favorites.
Looks like you prefer more on the rugged side.

I appreciate that heads up. Another concern for me would be the weight. My notes say it’s heavier than Sheath by just a couple g.. I’ll have to think on it a bit more. Maybe I’ll just wait until Pitaka MagEZ 5 comes to Amazon

I guess that’s true. If I’m going to use a case I prefer one which allows me to toss the phone around without worrying about it, otherwise I’d just go caseless. I use the phone primarily as a camera and often while hiking or cycling so having a mid to upper level of protection is nice for those situations.

Mine would probably be:

T1. Spigen Mag Armor MagFit
T1. Smartish Gripmunk
3. Mous Limitless

After that I'm genuinely not sure, I feel underwhelmed by cases this year largely because I've had so many with distinctly average buttons (particularly the action button) and bad buttons are a real pet peeve of mine.

Probably spots 4 and/or 5 would be one of the Zagg's I have, either the Luxe or Manhattan. They're pretty solid.

I’m with you on buttons. All of my top 5 have pretty decent buttons. I happen to have one copy of the Limitless that has what I consider perfect buttons, super light and tactile, but with zero rattle. The other copies of the same case were a bit inconsistent and not quite as good. The PR buttons are also excellent, at least on my particular case. The Pitaka buttons are nice, but they rattle which is a pet peeve of mine. The worst buttons of the year for me were on the Caudabe Sheath and Synthesis.

I can’t decide which one I like better the Gripmunk or the Schpeegen Mag Armor.

But what’s great is I feel like I got 2 great cases for the price of 1.

Yeah Mous were really really inconsistent - I finally have a solid Atlantic Blue, but all the black speckled versions I tried have had great buttons but a massive bend in the top piece. Mous have just offered to send me a free replacement, if that still has the bend I'm done with the black and just keeping the blue. PR buttons are indeed superb, I just can't stand the aramid, and I found the gaps between the aramid and case rim to gather grime/hand oils etc. 1000% with you on the Caudabes though, some of the worse buttons I've ever tried.

Yep I feel it too - some well priced for what they are.

Yup, I had issues with Mous QC too. Mine was the popping side rail on the aramid version. I went through 3 of those before getting a good one. My first walnut was fine though, no problems. They should do better of course, but at least with Amazon Prime and the Mous warranty it’s possible to get a clean copy if you don’t mind the hassle.

I find the Phone Rebel has too many little nooks and crannies to catch crumbs and little bits of lint, etc. It’s so grippy though, and provides so much protection while also being pretty thin (which is not an easy combo to find), that I keep going back to it.

I was a big fan of Caudabe for years, but feel as if they’ve stagnated while some of their competitors have moved forward with better buttons and a better protection to thinness ratio.

My top three for for my 14PM this year:

Black Ryan London leather
Ink Apple leather
Marine Cretanbull leather

Ok this racing yellow nomad sport case is so bold and bright it wants to smack you right in the face lol...honestly it's a little too much for my liking. Wish it was a little more muted like the watch band. The watch band is a keeper, the case sadly will be sent back.

Damn you Nomad, give me Ultra Orange

We are clearly on the same page when it comes to cases!! I’d echo all of that.

I’ll go:

1. Caudabe Sheath - fit and pinky comfort are unmatched. Buttons are fine IMO.
2. Spigen Liquid Air - wish it had MagSafe
3. Nomad Modern Leather - dust trap, lanyard area prevents this from being a long term case

4 and beyond: Apple Silicone, FineWoven, Caudabe Synthesis
Cool, thanks for your list!

In reference to Caudabe. Yes better buttons but their protection to thinness ratio seems good to me. The Synthesis didn’t seem like a big case for the protection it provides. The Sheath I think is even thinner.
