For sure. Nomad makes such nice cases, but they really need to rethink that cutout area. The only silver lining is the fact that the area is supported by a poly frame which makes it stiffer than almost any other cutout area I’ve come across.

Reason they do that for the leather is because of a lanyard or something to balance it?
That’s what I liked as well. While this is no where near as high a quality of a case, I bought this off of Amazon and it’s satisfied the need when I want that style a case.

Interesting case.
The dbrand Ghost satisfies my need for a hybrid clear case for now. I am always looking for the next best thing (case) though, but nothing has come close to this one.

How is the PVD coating helping with the inside? You want something softer than the iPhone's buttons to prevent wearing them.
I have multiple cases with metal buttons that are lined on the inside. ALL of them have a great click and work great.
Not a chance I'll be using a case with metal in direct contact with the metal iPhone buttons. I'd have to add tape inside but then the tolerances would have to allow that without causing the case to bulge.
Yeah, it’s for a lanyard/sling. I can maybe see the reasoning for the Rugged, but it seems unnecessary for the leather cases.
Yup, so avoid the Phone Rebel and Pitaka cases. Are there others with unlined metal buttons?
The Spigen actually looks cleaner, but I know the Phone Rebel has to be built better.

I agree 100% this is why I don't keep my phone in the phone rebel cases very long.
It's funny as last year he started off with no coating on the backs of the buttons but added it a month or two later. Wonder if he will do the same this year?

That black frosted Spigen is a fantastic case just has no grip.
Yes, but there is no matching action button. I only have the matte red & black Gen 4 buttons.
Out of the flo lab leather (pretty good case actually) and back in the ghost.
Plastic, TPU, silicone, PVC tape, etc., etc.
The wear will be minimal and last the year or so any case would be in service.
(Much longer to us multi case connoisseurs.)
But importantly the iPhone buttons will be tip-top.
Old pic I found of the Gen 4 (second release) buttons and they all had a lining on the backs.
Who cares about the metal buttons against the phones actual buttons. I don’t understand why this is a problem. Not like it’s going to damage the phones buttons where they don’t function 100%
