Frosty on 15 Pro, really did not expect to like this case as much. 😊

I did some purging of my case collection. Everything I could return is going back today, Everything else is going in the garbage. I went back and forth on the frosty Phone Rebel before I ultimately decided to return it. Just too heavy, which isn’t a dealbreaker in its own right, but the fact the case is so slippery (to me) and so bulky makes the added weight that much more annoying. By comparison, the Apple clear case is as slippery, if not a little more so, than the PR, but it is slimmer and easier to grip (for me) so Apple wins.

Now I have kept 3 Pitaka MagEZs, one Pitaka Pro, and the clear Apple case. That’s it. I am done.

I’m not the only one that said the Frosty was too slippery to me. I wanted to give it another try because it’s the perfect case but I’m not going to force myself to like it if it’s too slippery which is a dealbreaker for me.

I have a couple more beaters that are going back to Amazon today. I'm pretty much done wasting $$ on cases myself for the year.

To me it's not slippery, but the grip isn't the best. If you want slippery, the previous Frosted models (Gen 3/4 specifically) were like a wet bar of soap. At least EAP upped the game this year and added something, I just hope he finds a way to add the same or similar grip as the Rebel line to them in the future.

Personally for me, a matrix grip like the Caudabe Synthesis might have worked. Gripage doesn’t work for me when it’s too bumpy like the Frosty and Mous that’s hard plastic. Or grip with softer compound like the Schpeegen Mag.

Down to 3 cases. Blue versions of the Mous Limitless, Caudabe Synthesis and Smartish Gripmunk. Caudabe Sheath and Dbrand grip both sold. Last case I buy this time around will be a professional looking black case. Not sure which one but may get something cheap of Ali express.

Got an email back from Phone Rebel about the interior frost coming off my Frosty. They want me to ship the case back to them and after they receive it they will ship out a new case. Sound like a couple of months waiting for a replacement case. F that..
Damn thats sad to hear, having to pay for return shipping isn't cool. I scratched a small portion removing mine the other day as well. Wish they were like Caudabe and just sent out a replacement, but they must want to refurb them or something.

I don’t think that’s a defect, I think it’s just the nature of frosted or clear back hybrid cases especially if you swap cases often.

Mous isn’t a bad case it’s just not worth $70 on Amazon. Even at a 25% sale still not worth it.
What determines “worth” though; if it’s someone’s favorite case then certainly it’s worth it? This is all very subjective.

I may have said this before, but when we’re talking the difference between a $40 case and a $70 case, the price seems inconsequential to me. That difference is less than 2% the price of the phone, yet the case is the thing that we hold onto and look at for the life of the phone. I suppose if someone invests in a large number of cases and changes them constantly, those price differences become more of a factor.

I've removed it only twice so far and was very careful doing so and it still scratched off, so I feel they need to make it tougher/more rigid or they'll be receiving a lot back.

I checked my previous Frosted Gen 3 and the coating never wore off on it. But upon closer inspection only the outside was frosted, but now on the Gen 5 both the inside and out are coated.

Which one do you like best? I have the 14 pro Aramid so know what its' like.
Can get 25% off so makes it $79AUD with free shipping so not bad, looooong wait though but that's ok.
They feel nearly identical to me, so much so that I’m guessing both the wood and aramid have the same surface coating. The aramid seems to show slightly more fingerprints.

No, they included a return label for the return. Just don't feel like the hassle of returning and waiting for a replacement to show up some day.

Is it even worth it to exchange a Frosty if the new one will also loose it's finish on the inside after removing the phone a couple of times? My one from last year was still perfect when I sold it.

You keep saying no more wasting money on cases and yet here you are debating yet another literally moments later. The addiction is real in this thread lol but to your question I suggest black on black, the gray on black just doesn’t hit the same.

I said I wouldn’t do it, but I ordered yet another black Sheath for my 15PM. I was feeling bad for them after returning three cases. Their shipping is quick now, should be here in a few days. I used the TEE20 code, not sure if there’s a better one.

Got an email this morning from Caudabe that had tracking info for my replacement Sheath, so hopefully it'll get here before Christmas. In my initial email, I told them I was having MagSafe indentation problems on my Gray Sheath, but their website says the Gray is backordered, so I'm wondering if I'll receive the Black. Either way, I won't complain since it's a free case.

Caudabe sent off another email today informing me that, in addition to the black replacement that I received yesterday, they are sending out a gray one as well, as that is what I initially wanted. Also included are, "a few other surprise goodies to thank you for your patience!"

WOW!!

I’m getting my gray Sheath today to go with my natty. If it’s good I’ll get maybe the blue.
Take it from me, that is a BEAUTIFUL combination. We have three Sheaths in the family and that gray/natty pair is like a match made in heaven.

And I'm not sure what all this revision talk is about because ours have been flawless. Love the Sheath.

Alright, so when Tee posted his top case video I said I didn't think the Sheath was #1. Well, I've had a change of heart lol. The buttons could be better, but they're acceptable and my replacement Sheath will hopefully be here soon. To me it's the perfect mixture of thinness, and I, unlike others, like the texture on the back of the case.
My Mous limitless 5.0 will be here tomorrow according to usps, I have high hopes for it, so we'll see if it's able to dethrone the Sheath.

Also, eventually my Pitaka MagEz case 5 will be here, so swapping between the Mous, Sheath, and pitaka will be a nice combo.
