A couple of us have knock off silicone cases from Aliexpress that were around $14 and are nearly indistinguishable from the real thing. This is the store we bought them from https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805853215647.html

I bought a Slate one from a different store/seller and I've been satisfied with mine! The only two things I don't like is that it doesn't cover the entire front of the phone (but I knew that going in) and the Slate color is an oil/grease magnet. I use my phone A LOT, and the case has been permanently stained. But I only use the silicone case as my "in the house" case anyway.

I'll probably buy my next one from this seller. Now I've just got to decide on the color, Cypress or Winter Blue. Maybe the lighter color will hide the oil/grease better?

If it makes you feel any better, my first run of the action button version never had a seal to begin with. As long as you’re fine with the condition of the leather on the case, I don’t see a point in returning it. Andar keeps making tweaks to the product and packaging it seems.
Yeah another user on the leather patina thread told me that two out of his three Andar had a broken seal, so at this point it must be a common thing.

I wish I could remember if my Andar Red was sealed or not - mine came damaged and scratched. Then of course, Andar refuses to give me a full refund of my damaged case because it was damaged and scratched, despite support earlier telling me to do so o_O

I was passing by my mailbox, and heard some faint groaning emanating from within. I open it up, and lo-and-behold - it's a Christmas miracle!

My missing Mous package - stuck in a USPS black hole since the 4th with no updates - had gone from getting booted from the USPS Informed Delivery webpage yesterday for being too old, to appearing in my mailbox. They escaped from the black hole after all (hence the groans)...

Yes, both cases have a bit of curvature, but in this case, that's be expected when subject to the incredible gravitational forces of a black hole for a few weeks. You wouldn't fare too well, either :p
Going to be a Mous Case Christmas with all the free cases you have on the way ;)

Here are my thoughts on these cases for my 15PM:

IMG_0055.jpg

All of the cases fit tightly and are well made, so I have no complaints regarding their quality. They accept all of my USB cables, have felt linings, and are MagSafe compatible which functions well. I appreciate a minimalist case which offers adequate protection without detracting from the iPhones clean overall design.

The light-colored one in the middle is an Elago Stone Silicone case purchased on Amazon for $16.50 shipped, weighing in @ 41.17g. it's actually much darker than it appears in the photos, more taupe than white. For the money it is extremely well made, with a strong magnet and stiff sides. There is a fine even mold-release line encircling the entire case mid-way between front and back, barely felt but visible, and its downsides are those endemic to all silicone cases being lint pickup and difficult pocket removal. I like the soft feel and it's a nice occasional change from the other two.

The Pitaka MagEZ Case Pro 4 is by far my favorite... superb construction, design, and quality, wonderful feeling in the hand, and the lightest @ 39.26g. The buttons are responsive without the "clicking" others have experienced, and in spite of the smooth surfaces I find it easy to hold along the chamfered edges. It sports the most obvious branding but the color does at least blend in with the background pattern, not as refined as the Caudabe logo but that is really the only downside... other than the long shipping time and the price, $53.50 shipped.

As you can see the gray Sheath is showing the circular imprint on the back which Caubabe has replaced with a revised black model (reviewed in the Cuadabe thread post #408) The replacement addresses the left buttons' responsiveness and the circular indentaions on the back, which many complained about. I've been a Caudabe user for many years and this Sheath is more substantial than previous models with a deeper texture, which I prefer although some find it too rough for their delicate pinkies ;) The gray Sheath has been my everyday rough-and-tumble driver and now it will alternate with the new black one, the elegant Pitaka reserved for those special occasions. Weights are 46.15g (gray) and 46.46 (revised black) I paid Caudabe $41.00 shipped - ended up with two for that price.

Nice review. Since the Sheath is your daily driver, how often with the Pitaka get driven?

Tried the Pitaka over the years and just can't live with the fingerprints. Yes, I know they wipe off but just drives me crazy. Absolutely zero fingerprints on the Caudabe.
It’s not the brand with aramid that’s going to happen. For me I don’t like aramid because it’s slippery most of the time.

Turquoise Andar Aspen on Natural Titanium! This color is absolutely beautiful. Buttons and fit are perfect. I’m really in love with this case, I don’t think it’ll be coming off any time soon. @Southernguy
@steferrari - my box sticker seal was also broken when I received it, and theres no way this was a return as it’s a new release

Gee some are picky, at least the mous branding is unique, not just a plain word like pitaka, rebel.

My black Nomad modern is good, the best nomad I have had yet, great buttons and side grips, it wouldn't of liked my trip to Bali though, even the symmetry got some deep scratches on the back.
Nomad is 3 grams lighter and smaller than the symmetry. I prefer the fat bottom no sags ie symmetry, and like the smaller lip. Good fit all round.
Still nothing beats the weight and size of the FW, shame the sides are just not grippy enough.

How did you get it so fast. Didnt they just release it a few days ago?

I already spent too much money on cases lately, don't tempt me to spend more 😂

Just the grip on the sides. Both are grippy though. The sheath has a nice felt lining. Love em both!
Oh yea out of all the cases I tried the Synthy has the best grip, nothing has come close for me. Haven’t tried the Sheath, getting it tomorrow.

Do it, do it! 😂 I thought I was done spending too, then they dropped this color and I had to have it. I used a creator code for 15% off, and in my box there’s a code for $5 off “THANKS5”. Feel free to use it 😉

I'm back in the good ole "HooterBox" symmetry, how exciting

I got nothing new :(
I've been trying to be good, but I had no red cases after the awful Andar experience, so I ordered a Zagg "Manhattan Snap" (silicone case) in red the other day when they had 25% off on their site. Should be here tomorrow via Fed Ex.

After that I'll be done. I think. I hope.

That's what I don't get about aramid. It's never appealed to me because it's so slippery. I don't even like the look of it all that much. I'm not sure what the hype is all about.
