I know this is going to be an absolute hard 'no' for some people because it's 'fake leather' or whatever, just got the Uniq Lyden in Midnight Blue and I absolutely love it.

I personally don't care about the imitation leather, I'm not a leather guy, I just like a case that feels good whatever it's made from. To me this is genuinely one of the nicest cases I've tried this year - great fit, doesn't hurt my pinkie, buttons are fantastic and tactile, and I love the colour. I think this might be the most impressed I've been with a case this year on day 1 of receiving it. Fingers crossed it holds up well.

I've been using the 600D for the last few days Joe. I like this pattern a lot better. The case is light, plenty of grip for my needs, and some of the best buttons out there. Yea they rattle when the phone isn't on the case, but who the hell shakes their case lol

Only thing that pisses me off is Pitaka has had plenty of time to curve the back a little and revise the case to not feel as boxy. Cleary the case was made when they had the dummy phones as evidence to the renders on their website. Lazy production for a premium accessories company.

Still a banger of a case and enjoying it very much

The Benks was boxy too that’s why I didn’t like it. If the Pitaka is the same I probably won’t like it.

So will this rebel frosty without MagSafe still stick to a belkin stand charger without issue you think?

Also how slippery is the back of this case?

It definitely won’t stick to a stand charger. You barely feel the phone grab a normal MagSafe puck when you lay it on top of the puck.

As far as the slickness goes, with dry hands it can be a little slick. But I love the feel of the back of this case (whether it’s the MagSafe version or non-MagSafe version, they feel the same).

Let the dispatcher at work run my gray sheath with the c ring. He didn’t notice the c ring. I had to slope it and put it under stronger light for him to barely see it and he was laughing because he thought it was ridiculous that people would complain about that.

He had it on his MagSafe charging stand when he wasn’t using it. The c ring didn’t get worse.

I sold him my Storm Blue Apple Silicone that he’s been running for a good while. Using the Sheath for an entire day MagSafe charging when he wasn’t using it, he’s going to give the Apple Silicone to his daughter and order a black Sheath.

He said he didn’t realize that literately not having fingerprints or smudges would be such a convenience. He also likes that it’s grippy and the possibility if he drops it won’t show damage like the silicone would. When he first slapped it on he said it was heavy but I said you’ll get used to it and he did.

The impression is less noticeable on the revised black even though it is there (if you look for it) on both the gray and black. That minor surface depression hasn't gotten any more noticeable after charging. Caudabe also sent me a revised gray one which I'll keep unused to compare it with the original gray and updated black after a few months. On my 12 PM I found that the blue Sheath maintained its texture better than the black and gray models which became smoother over the years.

Yea the gray that I let him use was a revised version.

Just got in the red sheath…same indentation. When it’s off the phone it’s not as noticeable. Once I pushed the phone in it was immensely tight. What’s weird is it’s more of an indentation than a protrusion. You can feel it when running your fingers on the back of the case. The back material, imo, is just too soft. This one is going back. I was hopeful the red might have fixed the issue.

Thanks for the report. Although some here seem set on playing down this issue, it appears Caudabe is continuing to ship defective cases.

On my gray revised sheath if you run your fingers over the back you can feel it very slightly. Like I said above the dispatcher at work ran it for a day and didn’t even mention to me about that he ran his fingers on the back and felt it.

So I suspect it’s those with OCD that it affects.

I’ll let you know when I get my gray Sheath tomorrow (if there are no shipping delays).

FYI, my c blue Sheath is fine. You can barely make out the c ring under great light and at the right angle. That’s what she said 😝

Looks nice except for the camera ring and the “better by design” text.

I like the action button.

This is the color I wish Andar’s navy looked like! I like that it is purely blue and not blueish-green

Caudabe has acknowledged multiple times via email that they are well aware of the MagSafe indent defect, so apparently it's not only affecting those with "OCD".
I don’t think they acknowledged it’s a defect. They acknowledged that it isn’t a widespread issue that happy people don’t report their happiness at the same rate as unhappy people do.

Like I said I let a co worker run the Sheath and he wouldn’t have noticed the c ring if I didn’t mention it to him and had to slope it at an angle in stronger light in which he laughed because he said that’s ridiculous people are complaining of something that you have to squint and see lol.

There’s going to be people who just won’t be happy with a case because they’ll find something wrong with it.

If anyone happened to see my posts about the $15 shipping issue with Caudabe and the red Sheath, well, after going back and forth with customer support for what felt like 5 days and no resolution, it took me reaching out to them on Twitter to finally get a response, and they conveniently fixed the glitch, now the cheaper shipping options pop up. They issued me a 15% coupon code to use since the issue took so long to resolve, and their customer support just stopped responding, even though I was already trying to redeem my 30% VIP reward. Very unhappy with Caudabe right now.

I’m not sure why your friend has now become the arbiter of what is and is not considered a defective phone case on MacRumors… lol. That to me is ridiculous.

Because he’s an average Joe consumer.

And shall I mention the other average Joe people I tried to convince of the c ring and they looked at me like I was crazy.

I guarantee it’s a very small percentage that even notice the c ring and/or a c ring is present. Because if that was the case Caudabe would be out of business.

Ordered a black Bellroy, looks like they have more leather up the sides now, still PU edge which I don't mind, has action button now. Could be another Amazon return lol. Although I like their leather have had the wallets for years.
Daughter has the black card case, gets knocked around and is holding up well.
Will see.

If my red arrives with the pre-revised MagSafe indent I’ll be proper cheesed off!

If it’s no worse than my black revised, I can live with that.
