Third time is finally the charm for a perfect coastal rock Nomad sport case. That took long enough but at least Nomad's customer service is extremely good. The case is as good as everyone says it is. Good grip, fantastic buttons, and just a solid case overall.
The garnet red Sheath is also good. The buttons are much better than my grey version, and the c-ring is noticeable right away. However, it does not bother me. If it at some point does I'll just initiate a warranty claim and see if v4/v5/v6 is better.
I bought an Arc Pulse in Titan Grey from Amazon. Both the looks and price are a love it or hate it kind of thing. I personally love it. The bumpers are lusciously smooth and feel so nice in my hands. This is as close as I'm going to get to a naked iPhone but still have the piece of mind that if I drop my phone it's going to be fine. The fit is very very secure and it's not going to come off on it's own. It takes some effort to put it on and take off.
Next up is the Onotone case with a floral Japanese Indigo pattern and it's an instant return. Stiff yet mushy buttons, an overall cheap feeling, and while wireless charging compatible it does not have MagSafe. The floral pattern is actually nice, something very different for me, but the case is just very mediocre. The shape is very similar to the Spigen Style Armor but cheaper feeling without the soft touch coating. Asking $40 is way too much. When Spigen's cases are super nice for $20-35 this this is highway robbery.
Next up is the Vaja V-Mag Leather in ruby wine. I used it over the weekend and it's fantastic. Soft, supply, grippy, wonderful smelling leather. It doesn't have any kind of slippery coating that you have to work through before the leather becomes grippy. I didn't think I'd like the fully open bottom, open button areas, and slightly exposed top, but it all works for me. Having direct access to the buttons is surprisingly nice, and the shape of the case below the buttons is a comfortable place to put your fingers when holding the phone. The entire back of the case is magnetic, it'll stick to any magnetic surface like your fridge, so the MagSafe strength is
very good. On par if not better than the Spigen Enzo Aramid. This does make the case on the heavier side, 50g for the Pro model (56g for the ProMax), so if you're weight conscious it's not going to be for you. I don't find it feels noticeably heavier than the Sheath or Enzo Aramid though which are on in the 40g+ range for Pro cases. Vaja do have a Grip case that's 35g, still MagSafe, but not compatible with the V-Mag wallet or wrap. I would have gotten the Grip version if it was for sale through the Shop.app store. I should mention I used Shop.app points totaling almost $85 towards this case, but it's worth the full price if you can stomach it. The V-Mag is easily among my favorite cases and will be in regular rotation.
