Instead of the Spigen Ultra Hybrid I got the Ringke Fusion. Also have an Evutec on the way. Might check out the Mous Clarity when that’s available. Seems I don’t hear about that one as much.

How is the Ringke Fusion? Mine is being delivered today.

I have a Ringke Fusion and an AER if anybody wants them, I have a sale thread in the classified sections right now with several cases listed. I'm keeping my max for another year so I'm sure I'll end up buying others even though I tell myself "no more!"

My StoryLeather Back Cover case arrived today. Although I probably won't use it (I wound up ordering a RhinoShield SolidSuit again to give it a second chance), I recommend it to anyone looking for a thin leather case. I have the snap-on version with the exposed top, bottom, and buttons. The case is almost as thin as the Pitaka MagCase, and the leather has an excellent grip. The best way to describe the grip of this leather is how the Apple Leather Case feels when I hold it with damp hands, like when I dry my hands on a towel or my pants, but my hands are still kind of wet. The case has the same softness as the Apple Leather Case, too. Best of all, the back of the case isn't flush with the bottom, but it is ever so slightly recessed, so it doesn't hurt my pinky finger when I'm resting the phone on it (the back of most other snap-on cases is either flush with the bottom of the phone or it's a tiny bit longer than the bottom of the phone for protection). The lip around the screen is taller than the Pitaka case; it's more like the lip of an Apple Leather Case.

Cornflower case arrived yesterday...

How are you liking the Fusion? I’m liking mine so far!

It has good feel and grip. Not to slippery at all plus I like that it’s clear with a ring of blue. I wanted a white and blue case but clear and blue is just as good. Especially to show off the silver iPhone.

Got the Caudabe Synthesis for my new Max Pro. The back of the case has a interesting texture feel but same buttons as the previous generations.

Got the Otterbox defender black case with the built in pop socket. Will post a detailed review soon

I don’t like the Otter box pop defender case definitely returning it this weekend to expensive at 60+ for what it does and it can’t wirelessly charge unless you remove the pop socket top. I ordered the Element Enigma case as I loved my XS max version So I’ll post an update once it arrives Friday

Ordered the Apple clear case for my 11 pro max but am pretty sure I’ll be returning it. Can’t see it being any better than cheaper alternatives.

Got the Element Vapor case today in the mail. It’s pretty crazy so far I really like it. It’s a machined bumper with a glass back plate and the phone goes inside of it and you screw it in. Let me know if anyone wants pictures

I wonder how many of us have moved on to the 11!

I think I'll be sticking with the XS Max for a while. While the phone itself doesn't look too bad (especially that Midnight Green), I think the cases are so, so, so ugly. I can't stand it. It looks as if case makers just got lazy and cut a giant square. I'm not a case maker, so I don't know the answer to this, but would it have been hard to cut individual holes?

Anyway, I noticed that Vaja makes a fabric case, so I purchased one. It's merely okay. The case is surprisingly wider than the Apple cases, even though it looks like it would be the same thickness. The buttons are not tactile whatsoever even though they're metal (or maybe painted plastic). It almost looks and feels like the case was built as a solid piece with no holes for the buttons, and then the buttons were just glued to the sides instead of being their own pieces like other cases, so it has the same feedback as if I were squeezing the sides of the case not the buttons. And speaking of the buttons, they're all crooked! If the volume buttons were eyebrows, the case would look angry and surprised at the same time.
On a couple of positive notes, the case feels great and they're only $20.
Vaja Cordura Fabric Grip

I've decided I'm going to give the RhinoShield SolidSuit another chance. I didn't really like the leather version, but I've heard that the Classic Black has a much better grip, so we'll see when it arrives. If that doesn't work out, then I'm going to settle on the StoryLeather back cover I got. It's only slightly thicker than the Pitaka MagCase and it's made of a nice grippy (almost rubbery) leather (like the leather that Totallee uses). Plus, it doesn't hurt my pinky finger when the phone is resting on it.

I think the 11 has some nice features that make it more than the ho-hum update that many were expecting, but the prospect of larger changes like 5G (despite being overhyped) and a return to the 4/5 design theme are more compelling, especially the latter. I just hope they find a more graceful way to integrate the cameras into the design, though a bump of some kind is now probably a foregone conclusion. Still, it's mostly moot for me since, barring a mishap, my replacement cycle is longer than 1-2 years, and the XS is just fine.

Vaja Cordura Fabric Grip

Can you tell if that Vaja is made in Argentina along with the leather cases? I've had a suspicion that the non-leather cases, along with the cheaper leather models like the Slim Grip are sourced form Case Mate's other producers.

still sticking with my XS for another year!

my case update: I’m not feeling the Sheath right now, it’s just not grippy as expected.

Righty now I am back in my Pitaka mag case and have been thinking hard about an Apple Black leather case. I will jump on one if it’s discounted. I also have my eyes peeled for a forest green but there is just no stock of it anywhere anymore Which is a shame:(

Still looking for my next cool case.

I still have my XS Max, and have been searching daily for a case to catch my eye. Nothing has. All I have are clear cases that I’m tired of now. I want something colorful and will catch my eye. I’ll still be looking daily for a new case.

Well I ordered another case. I ordered the Otterbox Vue from the Apple store in blue of course.

Did someone on here mention that there is a forum on here to sell the cases you don’t use? I have a lot.

Unfortunately, I can't figure out where the case was made. There's nothing on the box or inside. Sorry I can't be of any help.

No problem.

I keep dancing around their cases, and almost pulled the trigger again, but noticed that sale items are not returnable unless defective. Even with the discount, it's not worth the risk, unless they give them away, like they're doing with their Samsung cases. Seriously, anyone with a Sammy phone. or knows someone with one, ought to check out their sale on those cases.

I guess I could rely on AMEX's return protection, but they're discontinuing benefits for a lot of their cards at the end of the year, thought not quite as deeply as other cards have done.

I would say they're not worth it. I think a lot of the less expensive leather cases feel and smell better than the leather on the Vaja.

I am currently on my third Sheath and it's most likely the case I will settle on going forward. (The first I gave away and the second was damaged when I went a little too wild while sanding the bottom). I now understand why some people in this thread complained that the buttons weren't responsive. My current Sheath has stiffer buttons than my previous two.

Does anyone know if Speck ever made a pure black Candyshell Grip for the XS Max? All I can find for sale are color combos. I much prefer the CG to the Presidio Grip.

I did find and purchase a Red/Dark Grey one that I found at TJ Maxx for $10. It looks great and makes the screen pop, but would much prefer all black, as it's more my style than flashy red.

I see it on their site

I'm looking for the Candyshell Grip, not the Presidio. And for the XS Max, not the 11 Pro Max.

Speck stopped making the Candyshell cases after the iPhone 8/iPhone X year. I prefer the Candyshell over Presido but that era is over.
