I wouldn’t say it’s the most grippy your gonna find; it isn’t a presidio grip or anything. It is relatively grippy on sides however the back is rather slick. My previous experience tells me back will become less slippy as it builds up skin oils and such.

Yeah a few post up is a pic of back of box stating claims to not affect wireless charging. I know on my X it didn’t affect it and would assume the same for Max, albeit I haven’t thrown it on wireless charger yet to personally validate such claims.

It really is a good well rounded case for the money; a bargain IMO. Definitely paid more for cases of lesser quality and less favorable design and handling. I wouldn’t want to do any crazy drops but would totally trust it for day to day disasters lol. And for some reason Evutec car mounts are the only ones I have ever had good luck with and LIKED.

How’s the overall grip compared to the Sheath? I can’t remember if you had that one or not... so many case-a-holics in here. Lol

Totally the go to. Very grippy and works so well with my mount.

Did you get it from them directly or from amazon? I don’t see it for the XS Max on Amazon. And if I’m reading correctly you can’t do wireless charging unless you use their specific one?

One last thing...how difficult is it to put on and take off?

My wireless chargers have worked totally fine. 1 anker and 1 Samsung. No problem.

It is definitely a tight fit. Not a lot of give at all

Thanks!!

Oh it’s named differently on their site and on Amazon. The part I’m most interested in is how they accommodate for the side swipe and bottom swipe by lowering the lip there similar to mous. That combined with it being thin with really good protection. I’m all for trying it out.

Definitely had caudate before; not for X or Max though but...I always found all the Caudabes to be slicker then naked phone. I’d say gripper than sheath.

The Sheath for the X was huge difference in grip compared to previous the previous Sheath. As for which one is more grippier, it's a toss up now with the new texture Caudabe did. I've had the Sheath for the X and 7 Plus and the Aer for the X and 7 Plus. The Aer always wins overall, it just feels better made and that is reflected in the price too. I just picked up the new Aer for the Max...powerbutton is really mushy. The microfiber interior is a nice add-on since they did it for the Aer Android models. The asymetrical speaker cutout is a good attention to detail that most other case makers didn't do.

Got this at Best Buy on launch day waiting for better ones to be released. I can say its a really good case, albeit not much drop protection. Love showing the back and sides of the iPhone XS Max that clear cases provide. Thanks for all the reviews here!

I did the same thing (except I got the version with the black sides), and I've had a hard time giving it up for a different case. I'm trying to talk myself into getting the Cape Cod blue leather case from Apple...

I share your opinion. Best is the buttons on the sides are really great

man, you guys are killing me and i continue to be uncertain about what i want to do...

i've been living with my cheap Silk Grip that works well (cost me $11 and bought as a placeholder before the phone arrived) i like the grip, and apparent protection level. yet, things i would like to improve on are:

- overall thickness (11mm total with phone)
- fit and finish: i don't like the oversized camera hole, and because it was designed for the X and not XS, the lens of my camera is centered on the hole; also, it would give to have the asymmetric holes on the bottom.

i keep "almost pulling the trigger" on the Cataube Stealth which i can get for $22 shipped. but now this $50 Pikata Mag Pro seems like a great candidate with much better protection.

AE14: do you have a ruler handy to measure the thickness of the Stealth and Mag Pro (they seem almost the same in your picture but i wonder i that's an optical illusion)? do they both have "near naked" button feel?

to add a wildcard to the mix and contribute something useful to this thread: i previously owned the Luvvitt Clear Grip case for my iPhone 7. i dropped the phone a few times over the years and it did well. pretty low profile with a nice narrow grip (much like Pikata) and only wider at the corners. the downsides of this case is the back scratches pretty easily and moreover, perhaps due to some chemical reaction with the back of the matte black iPhone 7 or microparticles scratching, i was left with some spotting on the back of the phone 7 after 2 years (only seen in certain light):

i'm still waiting for one of their $4-5 sales (That's what i paid for my previous one) to pick one up although it performed well for a $12, regular priced case.

Got me a $5 special today

I got my solid suit yesterday and it's made me change my mind about the mous, I may end up returning the Mous now. The solid suit is a little slick still but no more so than the mous, and it has less of a lip at the bottom so it doesn't interfere as much with swiping up as the Mous lip does. It's still enough that even with a screen protector it is above the screen but not so much as to feel annoying.

My tally so far:
1. apple leather case = nice but slick, possibly sending it back in favor of a sena leather case that hasn't even shipped yet
2. caudabe sheath - a keeper, slim, good grip, all around good
3. catalyst impact - not bad but sent back because I'm concerned about the camera
4. spigen hybrid - sent back, just average
5. caseology legion - not bad, a little bulky but I'm keeping because it was only $3
6. mous 2.0 - good but the lip at the bottom is pretty high and after using the sheath and solid suit the mous lip just feels excessive and uncomfortable. IMO not worth anywhere near $60, will probably send back
7. Evolutive Labs Solidsuit - very good, slick sides but solid and the lip is small enough not to be in the way. I did add some traction tape to the sides, makes holding it much easier but blends in pretty well

On the way but don't know when: EvoLabs ModNX, Element Shadow and Sena Leather

So Mous lowers the lip on the sides for swiping but not on the bottom?

Also how are the buttons?

Really liked using it on my doc heading to work. Ironically, my bodyguardz shock case came. Also very nice. Surprisingly nice. I still like the pitaka better.

Have you had the solid suit? If so how does it compare to the pitaka?

How much thicker and heavier are Pitaka cases in comparison to the Apple Leather case ? (iPhone XS Max) I’m intrigued by the Mag system and this might workout for my car . I wanted to protect the bottom of my iPhone but not muffle any mic sound (the Apple Leather case is open bottom). Also any discount codes for Amazon ?
