A few things...

I know I'm going to use my iPhone Upgrade Program to move to a newer 12 Pro. I just can't decide which one, primarily because of the better camera on the 12 Pro Max.

Most of us are in the same boat. I'm moving from an iPhone 7. Both the 12 Pro and Pro Max are bigger than the phone I have, and I'm concerned about whether the 12 Pro Max is too big to carry in my pocket comfortably.

When I was at the T-Mobile store to ask about their upgrade program, I told them my concerns about the 12 Pro Max size. They had me put an 11 Pro Max case in my pocket to see how it fit. It did fit, but the corner stuck out (which could encourage pickpockets.) It's one thing to have a plastic case in your pocket and another to have a chunk of metal and glass. Still, I'm leaning towards the 12 Pro Max for the better camera and battery.

Also wish it didn't come out until after the election because who knows what kind of craziness will be brewing then.

Things are going to be crazy regardless of who wins, and we'll also be heading into a difficult season with COVID-19. Politics shouldn't enter into your buying decision, unless you're concerned that you won't be able to afford the device if circumstances change. When you upgrade, you’re not just buying for today, but for as long as you can plan to use the device. Think about how you plan to use your new iPhone and make the decision that will fit your needs in the long run. (I have more to say about upgrades here.)

Yeah i'm not sure the Pro's worth it for my needs.

FYI, the Pacific Blue is just for the Pro range. The Non-Pro range has a different blue.

I'm a fan of the Pacific Blue & Graphite myself.

I like the blue on both models
Still deciding on models I do want the 12 pro

I'm honestly, not getting an iPhone 12 family iPhone this year. The mini form factor is not for me. The non-pro 6.1" iPhone 12 is $100 more this year than the non-Pro 11 was last year. I'm cool paying $850 for a 256GB iPhone. It's steep, but I'm cool with it. At $950, it's kind of ridiculous. At that point, it makes more sense to just spend the extra $~150 to go with the Pro (to get 2GB extra RAM and a telephoto lens). Since that phone is no longer the size of the iPhone 8/SE 2nd Gen, the desire to go Max (against the wishes of my wallet) is greatly diminished from how it was last year.

Price aside though, there's way too much first gen technology in this iPhone to make me comfortable purchasing one. The body style got the biggest update since the original iPhone X. Apple doesn't typically do well with new body style/changes as has been evidenced by issues with the iPhone 3G, 4, 5, 6 and 6 Plus, 7 and 7 Plus, and X. Between 5G, MagSafe, changes in the antennae design to accommodate 5G, new displays and display resolutions, that's enough for Apple to mess up on, again, given their previous track record phones that are this different from their predecessors.

I voted non-Max 12 Pro because I think that's what I would buy if I was to be buying from this generation. However, I'm instead camping the Apple Certified Refurbished iPhone section of the Apple Online Store for a 256GB iPhone XR (and likely resolving to just buy the 128GB model new if I never get lucky there) and using the $400-550 that I'd otherwise be spending on an iPhone 12/Pro model on saving for a more substantial upgrade one or two years down the road.

I have pre-ordered the 12 Pro but am still on the fence about the size. 11 Pro Max right now, love the screen size dislike the heft and the 12 Pro Max is slightly biggers still. It is the age old trade off of screen vs. portability.

2 models that stand out are the iPhone 12 mini for its compact size and the Pro Max for its exceptional camera and larger size
Haven’t decided yet

Missing option: none of the above.

Why?
TouchID is missing (FaceID just doesnt work with mask on, has flood-light I don’t want in the middle of the night)

Why? https://www.docunlock.org/youtube/face-id-iris-scan-safety

If apple would be smart they’d add a SE3 with iphone12 specs, but with TouchID in the powerbutton like with the ipad. And do that in 2020.

After a ton of going back and forth, grabbed a 12, 128GB White. Can’t wait to finally have a phone with storage bigger than 64GB, and not to mention the lightness and form factor.
