e-Mac, horrible loud fan, couldn't stand it, gave it away.

I loved my emac. I remember thinking when I got it how much things have changed with Apple that you could now get something like this, large colour screen, big hard drive etc for less than $1500 Australian when I baulked 15 years before at paying more than $2000 for a mac plus. The only thing I wished for was the ability to upgrade the ppc to an intel chip. BTW the speakers weren't too bad either.

It was good value, but I hate loud fans that have that constant low frequency noise.

I love the puck mouse. I have one around the house and it's fun to use. Maybe my love for it's design blinds me of the fact it maaay be a bit un-ergonomical...

Texas, unfortunately.
I had to vote "iOS 7", because it's the closest thing to "iOS" - the whole thing. I simply can't understand what people love about it so much; even worse, the design is popping up in OS X, and slowly ruining one of the last things I like about Apple. :(

FCP X was awful when it came out. It's getting better, but still nowhere near what's needed. It seems to be too little, too late as everyone's jumped to Avid :(

Other than that, Ping, MobileMe, the Newton line and the 3rd gen shuffle deserve honourable mentions!

What do you base that assumption on?

I believe they use the same design teams, the two operating systems have moved closer to each other in terms of UI and interaction. I don't see a full merging of the code base (yet) but I do see the progression of OSX looking more like iOS.

They can't get much closer without merging. iOS and the icons are designed for touching but would be clumsy with a mouse. Mr Ive should know that being that he's a pretty smart guy.

i never understood the 3rd generation shuffle, using headphones to operate it is pointless to me.

Though I never owned a 3rd gen Shuffle, I use the in-line controls almost exclusively when I'm playing music on any of my Apple devices. It's just generally more convenient. The only major flaw is that you have to tap the central button three times in rapid succession to go back.

None of them. If it has the :apple: logo on, then it is perfect. :D

I wouldn't say that, you should see my PB5300 from '95
The battery leaked bright blue acid inside the machine

I hated iOS 7 too when it was first announced, but since then I've grown to like it. It might just be me but it seems slower then iOS 6 was though. Anyway, this is a redesign that had to happen. Jony Ive would never had kept the old skeuomorphist design of iOS 6 and Mavericks. The new redesign also follows the entire movement of technology design. Windows 8, Windows Phone, the new Samsung TouchWiz, everything's moving to a flatter design.

I voted for iOS7, but I could also agree with the retina MBPs even though I own a couple.

The sealed system, lack of upgradability, and absurd repair costs, all in the name of "thin" make it a contender.

It didn't have to happen. There is nothing dated about the older OS X and iOS designs, they are just as stunning in 2014 as they were in 2007. Nothing precluded Apple from staying with graphically rich UIs to differentiate itself from the pack. They obviously switched to flat design to reduce the design overhead and make it easier to port stuff from the competition.

OS X redesign is mostly OK and it is something that could have been released outside of the full-blown flat trend, as an end to Aqua adventures. On the other hand, iOS redesign is brutal and fashion-tat, with very little substance and innovation.

I never minded my hockey puck mouse, guess I hadn't used many mice before to compare tho. The pippin is probably the worst but I never used that personally so I went for the useless thing was ping.

I never used the hockey puck mouse but it looks really ugly and so unergonomic. something Apple will never understand.
I have the USB Mouse (aka hockey puck) and I actually like it with the iMac and OS 9, it has a really smooth movement that can't be reproduced
Cheers,
Adam

1. Ping.
2. Hockey Puck Mouse (And any mouse after that one really. The ADB Mouse II was excellent though).
3. The Motorola/iTunes 'thing'.
4. Most application reworkings and new releases Apple have made the last 4 years. (I do like iOS7 though)

-Why does everyone hate on iOS 7? Ive never had any issues with it and I loved it.
-Early OS X was great, it was reliable and fast and full of great features.
-Final Cut Pro X? Why is that even an option? Final Cut Pro X is great.
-The USB Mouse is a great mouse, I love it to this day.
-The Retina MacBook Pro is a very powerful and beautiful laptop!
-The Mac Pro looks good and its the fastest Mac ever, don't be a hater.
-The iPod shuffle works fine.
-The Magic Trackpad is a nice thing if you like a trackpad instead of a mouse.
-OS X 10.7 Lion was a good OS, reliable and good looking. I use it on my Mac Pro and it runs great.
-iWork is the best office software I've ever used.
-The Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh was and is a beautiful machine and was far ahead for its time despite the price.
Cheers, Adam
