If you are choosing to buy one that comes in multiple colors, what color will you be getting? What size (space wise)? Include any other details that you'd like to add!

I'm buying the iPod classic 160GB in silver. I wish it had a touchscreen but I'm going to Buffalo anyways to buy an iPhone too and unlock it to use in Canada.c:D

:apple:

iPod Touch, 16GB. My iTunes library is under 10GB, so it's perfect. I prefer flash storage and love the touchscreen but don't need an iPhone (and can't get one in Canada anyway). This is exactly what I've been hoping for!

iPod touch!!!!!!!

i can't wait to get mine. i don't get why everyone's screaming about the small capacity. i've had a 1 gig nano for the past 2 years and really don't find it a pain to switch out its contents from time to time.

someone please explain the need to have your whole library in your pocket.

the wifi is the topper!! anyone think you'll be able to use email with it?

Shouldn't there be an option for 'none'

Apple no longer off me an ipod I want to buy.

If this isn't sarcasm - what are they lacking now that they had in the past? Monochrome non-click-wheel iPod? Original Mini? Black Nano?

Oh...maybe you mean you don't like the new fatty Nano? I can see that. What did AI say yesterday - the red-headed stepchild that everybody's already ridiculed is really being released? Does seem like the only miscue in this whole lineup.

I bought the 80GB Classic (I already have 32GB of music on my iPod now). The Touch is great but not enough capacity for me and I probably won't use it for what it's meant to be used for I figure if I want to watch movies on the go that's what my MBP is for, after all it goes everywhere with me.

Besides the iPod Classic now comes in Silver to match my brand new MBP and the extra HDD space will be very handy to replace my thumb drive for quick files storage when I need it.

I am interested to see what the new nano looks like. It looks really weird but i wanna get over to my local apple store today and look at it. Do you think they will be out on display today? or should i go tomorrow?

I've owned ipods since Generation 2. So that's 2,3,4,5,5.5gb as the storage capacity has increased.

But... I really want an ipod with the touchscreen but with large storage capacity. I'd be happy to plough down €499 on that and was ready with my CC during the announcments.

I don't want an ipod classic. At this stage I want a design change.

But i do want the storage capacity of 160gb.

So can I buy a new touch screen ipod with 160gb HDD ? No.
Choose old style with bigger HD, or new style with next to no storage for music and video. (for me anyway)

Therefore I'm afraid to say....

Apple no longer offer me an ipod I want to upgrade/update to.

I don't have any iPod now, and if there is any one of these I might buy, it would be touch. A simple media player isn't what I need.

I'm just not positive on what kind of iPod I will be buying. I absolutely love the iPod Touch, but I don't know if I can let myself pay for something that is exactly like the iPhone minus the phone part.... you know? My contract is with T-Mobile, so I wasn't able to buy the iPhone when it was released. I'm also worried about storage space on the Touch, but it's not a huge concern. I don't know how big my Library will grow in a matter of months and years and I'm sitting on 10 GB of music right about now. Decisions, decisions!

The local mom and pop water ice shop had this problem. Too many choices, so people went to Rita's. Had Apple not released the iPod touch, you would have gotten an iPod Classic and been happy. But since you see a different design, you convince yourself you don't want anything.

I ordered an 80 gig iPod Classic (Black).
I think the Touch looks interesting, but I use my iPod as a backup for my Macbook and need the HD capacity.
Nice to get 80 gigs now for the same price as 30 was before the updates today. :)

This is a really tough call. Before today, I thought there'd be no way they'd put a browser on the touch model, so I was set on getting a nano.

The nano still looks great, and the price is right, but the touch is very tempting with its wifi features. That's huge, I would use those all the time. I just wonder how hard it is to find wifi hotspots (especially free ones) outside the house. I wish there was some way to check that before buying one.

And now even the iPhone is way cheaper, even the 4 gig for $299 is very tempting since I'm mostly interested in the browser functionality.

I may need to just go to the apple store and play with them all, right now I know I want one but I'm stumped on which.

I'm gonna get the touch for my b-day in october!
Me too (I hope). My birthday is in about a month and a half. I only want the 8GB. Mainly because I'll use it mostly for browsing and because I only have an iTunes library of 5GB. Also, I'll likely end up paying for a good chunk of it, so I don't want to pay the extra $100.

I'm getting an iPod touch as soon as they're in the stores. I was sold the minute I saw it. 3 1/2" multi-touch screen, WiFi, cover flow, Safari, YouTube, Wireless iTunes store...How could you not want one!?! :)

I have nearly 800 CD's. I have two homes. Carrying an ipod loaded with all my CD's is for more convieniant that carrying CD's back and forth. Simple as.

Just because you dont have the need, doesnt mean others dont.

I will probably have to sell my 2 month old palm t/x to buy one, but i wanna get an iPod touch. It'll replace my Palm T/x and my ipod :D

None.

I was hoping for a nano with 12 or 16GB (to replace my 6GB mini). So I may have to wait for the next size bump. Or convince myself that the larger size of the touch is okay.

(I was hoping to switch from having my iPod clipped to my pocket or belt to wearing it around my neck. Hence I wanted a nano.)

I was a bit surprised they stopped having 3 sizes of nanos but the reason became clear when Steve started talking about the Classic. I.E with 4 models in the lineup they needed to have fewer variations of the nano. And save the 16GB for the touch too I guess.
