16GB Touch

I am almost definitely going to buy a 16GB touch. It is big enough to hold everything that i will need it to hold so size won't be a problem. Plus it's awesome. Only problem is that it is a tad expensive, so i guess i'll have to pinch a few pennies.:apple:

Can't Wait for Sept. 28!!!!!!!!!:

I'm most definitely getting the 16GB Touch. I would've personally preferred a larger capacity, but there's no fun in toting around an iPod Classic.

I already have the 8GB iPhone, so getting an iPod Touch seemed redundant to me and I opted for the 160GB iPod Classic (Black). It's my first "iPod" and couldn't be more excited. Congrats for all those getting the iTouch too! If you haven't played with an iPhone yet, you will love it!

Not really sure but if I do it will be the iTouch 16GB. I'm somewhat disappointed, I don't understand why they went the iPhone route? I thinking I should save my $500 for the iPhone since I already have a 30GB iPod Movie.

Who knows how I'll feel when I walk into Yorkdale Apple? LOL Take my recent 24" 2.4GHz iMac, I said I would wait it out until Leopard and I walked out with one.

I was kinda bummed, cause I actually thought the 'touch' came in 80gb and 160gb respectively.

Then again....I've never owned an Ipod Video, so I'll be going with the 160gb classic.

Another question.

When I tried to order with my Educational Discount, the prices were the same as if I were to go through the normal store.

Are the new Ipod's not valid under the discount program??

iPods are exempt from the Edu discount. Sucks, I know.

Hmm, I'll either be going for an 8GB (RED) FatPod or a silver 80GB classic. I'm kinda tempted by yesterday's top end for the price of a low end...

Is it just me or do the new Ipod Nano (RED) look more pink than red?
also will the nanos be even thinner than the previous 2g model?
And can I buy the (RED) from best buy or target or compusa? or any store like that

I'm trying to decide should I get a 3G iPod nano 8 GB or the iPod Classic 80 GB. My worry is that hard drives DO fail, and I don't want to lose my music collection on the player because of this.

I'd love a touch, but not enough space for me. I'm going to get an ipod classic 160gb in silver, once I get some money.

I'm going to go ahead and get an 80GB 'classic' model. My varied musical tastes and disdain for planning what I want to listen to ahead of time are greater than the obsolete feel of the classic model. No need for the 160GB version; I have no desire to watch video on a screen that small.

Still I hate the name "Classic." For an electronic item it sounds like it's already old the day I open the box. I want to call it the 5.75 gen instead of 6th, the update seems so minor.

When storage capacity catches up to my needs I'll ebay this and get a widescreen model. Until then... at least I have something in the interim to replace my dead 3g ipod.

Just ordered a 16gb touch. The video playback and web browsing is just too handy.

Also, I love that the bottom row of icons are now Leopard themed with their reflectivity, rather than the iPhone's 'metal grate' theme.

I thought about getting an iPod Classic, but I realized that me and portable HDD's do not go together under any circumstances.

So I'm getting a silver 4 GB nano. It does video if I need it (I rarely watch movies or TV) and my music library is only 1.5 GB, and for $150, it's just too sweet of a deal.

Couldn't you just get a new iPod and reload it from your computer?

I'm not buying any of them. I was hoping for an 80gb ipod touch at least... I love the idea of the ipod touch, it's just 16gb is the size of what a nano should be...I have much more music than 16gbs...

pre-ordered the 16gb touch. like a lot of the other people, i have a lot more music than that, but i'm willing to sync once in a while :) keeps things fresh as well...

plus, being on a university campus, there's practically nowhere the wi-fi won't work :D thanks :apple:!

ipod newbie

Being a mac user my entire life, you would have think I jumped on the ipod craze when it started. Negative. I only purchased a shuffle about a week ago from my campus bookstore.

I'm buying an iPod touch. I'm splurging and have no shame. Anyone wanna buy my shuffle??? haha.

I just placed an order for a silver Nano (8g) and an iPod Touch (16g). I think I'll also purchase a red Nano as a gift.

The silver iPod Classic 160 GB, to go with my MacBook Pro. I would love an iPod touch, but I don't think I'd manage with 10% of the storage space compared to the classic..

I'll be getting an 8gb Touch mainly for the Safari features - i've lost count of the amount of times i start up my iMac just to check mail or look up somthing trivial.

I'm very hesitant, iPod nano 4/8GB or iPod touch 8GB?

I have a very small music collection, less than 2GB. That's minuscule compared to what some of you brag about (80GB+ music libraries? sigh...). Sometimes I wonder if people aren't building huge music libraries and brag about them to compensate for the lack of something else

So I'd probably be happy with a 4GB nano (I currently have a 2GB first gen nano), though for video I might want some more space, but only for a few clips and maybe a couple of full length movies or TV shows, 8GB would be well enough for my video needs. I don't see the use of having my full library of movies and TV shows with me all the time. These are the kind of things that you don't watch over and over again.

But I'm also very interested in the iPod touch. The interface, multi-touch, wi-fi and Safari are all very tempting to me. The possibility of an eventual NES emulator and other cool hacks is also very interesting.

But aside from the extra $ I'll have to shell out to get an iPod touch, one major thing is bugging me: The lack of tactile feedback for music playback control.

95% of the time when I'm using my current 1st gen nano, I use it without looking, skipping tracks and often adjusting the volume against noisy environments. It looks like it'd be very hard to control the iPod touch (or the iPhone, for that matter) without looking. Also the "hold/lock" mechanism is much less straightforward than on the nano.

This single fact may be the reason why I'll get a nano instead.

I was hopping that Apple would release a shuffle shaped Bluetooth remote for this new touch-screen iPod, but seeing as the iPod touch doesn't even include Bluetooth I don't see that happening. I guess they could do one similar to the radio tuner (which more than probably doesn't work with the touch or iPhone), but having wires coming both from the device and to the headphones is cumbersome.
