When I complete watching Season 2 of Ozark, I'll have a dilemma: either watch the first 2 seasons of Killing Eve, or re-watch the excellent 6 part series The Hot Zone, the National Geographic Series about the Ebola outbreak in 1989:

And it's somewhat pertinent to the current Coronavirus crisis. Of course, I could also re-watch the excellent movie Outbreak, as it is also about the Ebola virus:

It is mostly fictional, but both The Hot Zone and Outbreak are both based on the book The Hot Zone, written by Richard Preston.

And it's interesting how they both somewhat "tie in" with the "COVID -19 - How have you been affected" thread.

Decisions, decisions, decisions!

The book, "The Hot Zone" is infinitely better than any of the movies. I highly recommend it!

Part of the first season of The Sopranos again. Sick of the grifting in DC so I'm watching a slightly less real reality show, so to speak.

I love Edie Falco in the series, she reminds me so much of the mother of a New Jersey friend of mine back in the 70s. I didn't think her husband was "connected" but when I mentioned his name at a pub one night to a colleague who had some connected in-laws, he laughed long and loud and said hah yeah that guy well my cousin had words with him once and then how should I say it my stupid cousin found out he wanted to apologize really sincerely to your friend's dad the next day. I didn't ask how his cousin found out he wanted to apologize. This was a few years after The Godfather came out so of course visions of the "Luca Brazzi sleeps with the fishes" scene ran through my mind. Anyway I realized then that not every connected guy was as flashy as say John Gotti. Some were pretty low profile. I guess not wanting to end up in the slam or dead from becoming a witness has been a strong motivation for some real life capos.

Well, I have a real dilemma coming up in April:

So, on Sunday evening, April 26th, I will need to decide which of these excellent series to watch at 10 PM: Fargo Season 4 Episode 2, or Killing Eve Season 3 Episode 1? Man, that's killing me!

Just finished Years & Years (one of the best series I've watched in a long time), and now on to Shameless US series 9.

I concur. And of the two movies oft mentioned, I think Contagion was better done.

And who can resist the irony of Queen Goop, now peddling her quackery, being the first victim in the movie?

It's definitely the better of the two, just did a rewatch on it a few days ago. Holy smokes, the scene you're describing was chilling - I read something about how Soderberg wanted her to look to a sort of 10-12' point in the room, not at a doctor, not like a 1000 yard stare into the ether, almost like looking at something, there in the room just beyond our field of few.

We did a full series rewatch several weeks ago, it's still just fantastic, Falco, Gandolfini are brilliant, the writing, intricacies of various plots, alternately laugh out loud funny and horrifying.

@LizKat If you haven't watched Nurse Jackie, I'd highly recommend that as well, especially since you're a fan of Edie Falco.

"Get behind me Satan!" ? -- I just this morning went and removed all The Sopranos from my laptop's internal drive so I'd have to make an effort to watch any more of them any time soon.

This is my prime season of year to get stuff done in the studio... and I've just realized my brain's been making mischief... suggesting to me that there's anything different about my own situation during the time of the virus mitigation effort. There's nothing that suddenly creates extra time for entertainment!

Blasted through the three first episodes of HBO's The Outsider. Really good stuff. I've always liked Ben Mendelsohn as well as Jason Bateman, but it was a real treat seeing Paddy Considine in the cast as well. The whole thing feels a bit like a True Detective season for now, very interested in seeing where it goes from here.

The only thing about the experience I'm currently not enjoying is the crappy quality of the stream. Netflix with it's 4K DV Madness has ruined everything else for me.

Can't wait to hopefully finish the whole thing tomorrow.

Well, I have re-watched the first 2 episodes of Season 1 of Killing Eve, and it is quite good. Fortunately, each season has only 8 episodes, so I'll be able to get through the first (and so far only) 2 seasons, before Season 3 premieres on Sunday, April 26th. But as I mentioned earlier, I'll have a real dilemma that day, as Episode 2 of Season 4 of Fargo will be on at the same time.

For Fargo, of course, except for Seasons 1 & 2, they are not really "connected" nor continuing. In fact, Season 4 goes back even further, to the 1950's. So, I really do not "have to" re-watch Seasons 1 through 3. But all those seasons are entertaining, and quite good. I especially like it that each season seems to have a unique character: Season 1, it was Billy Bob Thornton as Lorne Malvo; Season2, it was Bokeem Woodbone as Mike Milligan; and Season 3, it was David Thewlis as Varga. Of course, numerous other characters from each season are also unique. So hard to choose!

Finished The Outsider (HBO). A slow burn, liked it a lot. Let's see if there's a season 2, if so I'm game.

Looking for recommendations on what to watch next. Got HBO for a month, so if you folks have good recommendations fire away! Thinking of starting Chernobyl at some point, but any other good ones on there?

I love Fargo.
Yeah, great, great series (all 3 seasons), as is the (original) movie. And if you've seen the trailer for Season 4, it will definitely entice and hook you!

Almost done with Season 1 of Killing Eve. Definitely am realizing how much I missed when I watched it before!

After I watch Season 2, not sure if I'll re-watch the 3 seasons of Fargo, or the excellent series The Hot Zone. And STILL waiting to hear when Season 3 of Cobra Kai will be on.

Chernobyl is very, very good. And after you finish it, watch the excellent movie The China Syndrome.
