Well I made good on my threat to sample the free HBO offerings this month and to give Succession a try. Made it through an episode and a half... maybe I'll resume tomorrow on grounds I just wasn't in the mood for it. Anyway it's not causing me to think I'll binge watch the rest of it. There are only 2 seasons so there's more or less time to finish it a couple episodes per evening if I decide to go on with it. On the other hand I might watch some of the movies they have on offer instead.

I'm definitely not complaining about the 16:9 aspect ratio. I don't believe they cropped any 4:3 footage, it was they other way around to fit the then 4:3 TV standard.

I hope they got rid of the noise bar at the top of the image. Made it unwatchable unless zoomed by 5% or so.

I binged watched ever Star Trek series with movies starting in timeline order not air date. It took me a full year. I've also binge watched all of Cheers and Frasier.

Currently I'm watching through Stargate Atlantis after binge watching all of SG:1 (I'm doing it somewhat out of timeline order, too much of a pain to keep track of back and forth).
IMO make sure you add Stargate Universe to your list.

My wife started watching Home Before Dark... and now I'm hooked, as well. Perhaps a bit contrived and even somewhat predictable, but I find that I quite like it.

Well only 7 seasons.

I think was free on prime...? The first 4 seasons or so...? Then on HULU commercial free...

You're right and I should just prowl around more for streaming opportunities on things I've heard about and might enjoy. I tend to think more about stuff I have on DVD and would rather re-watch on a tablet... and only then go on the hunt for streaming.

And then too I suppose it's the price point of an HBO sub... funny how five bucks a month, say, can make a difference. HBO has a lot of good stuff already on the shelf, most of which I have not seen, and so my excuse --which is that well i dunno if it would be worth it once I caught up-- doesn't really hold water, because I'd probably never "catch up" anyway!

I do know that if it were 9.99 for a no-cable-plan HBO streaming sub, I would already have become a subscriber. I don't think twice about the Apple TV+ $5 sub, I have a Film Movement annual sub I only use a few times in as many months; I also pay Netflix 9 bucks and don't watch a whole lot of that either, but the $10/month line on a sub is a thing to me somehow. So HBO has remained on the "well... i dunno..." list all this time. When I look at my viewing habits, I could argue the case for or against a sub either way but not really on that five dollar difference.

Which season?

Also, sadly the last episode of Better Call Saul for this season aired last night. While it had a somewhat "dramatic" ending, to me it was certainly not a cliff hanger like the last episodes of Project Blue Book or Ozark. But still looking forward to Season 6 (and the last) of BCS. Just don't know how long it will be until it airs.
season 1. first episode last night.

Saul didn't spring a ST:TNG Best of Both Worlds Part 1 style cliffhanger, but the in terms of the overall narrative, raising the question of whether one of the few characters with unknown fates, Kim, "breaks bad" when everyone assumes she'll be the main victim of Jimmy's path to Saul, does shake the ground in the BB ABQ universe.

Either way, it will be a heartbreaking fate for the character.

One would expect that Kim will "disappear" in some manner, given what we know about Saul in Breaking Bad. But she saw came down "hard" on Lalo Salamanca in Episode 9. She also has been the "steadying" hand for Jimmy/Saul.
