So did I, but have you seen it lately (on Prime)? It doesn’t hold up very well.
The two movies, however—”House of...” and “Night of...”—remain good cheesy fun.
I haven't seen the show since I was a kid. I suspect it holds up about as well as the old Batman show with Adam West.
Actually I went through a lot of Batman a few weeks back, and it holds up better, I think.
Dark Shadows was on videotape, and if you've ever seen surviving videotape from that era, it looks like your old collection of VHS tapes recorded at SLP. Like most soap operas, the storyline was drawn out, and not much happened in any particular episode. People bluffed their way through forgotten lines, flies buzzed, the same music was used ad nauseam, and so on.
Batman on the other hand has a lot going on any one episode, the hammy acting style is kind of timeless in its own ridiculous way, and the prints available now are beautiful.
Dark Shadows is on Prime. Batman seems to be on the Roku Channel now.
Just started watching Dark. First three episodes are pretty slow and hope it picks up. Looked up the reviews and they were great! Maybe it's just me. Will hang in there for a few more and see what happens!
Yes, I think that's my problem. Just finished Hanna then went to Dark. Soooooo slow after Hanna!!
I can really dig on slow burn schi-fi/horror type material, but I think I have an extra sensitivity to dubbing. There's such kind of an "uncanny audio valley" where the body language / inflections don't sync up.
I may go back and try the first couple of EPs in the original German with English subs.
If that doesn't work, maybe German with Chinese subs, then I'd be REALLY confused
Not completely sure if it's there (although I believe that it is), but you can try watching on Peacock now that it's out.
I’m currently binge watching Dark. Only have 2 episodes to go on season 3. I think it’s great.Story aside it has a superb 4K picture and the best Dolby Atmos sound I’ve ever heard. If you continue with it be prepared to be confused! Mind blowing stuff.
Watching ‘Witcher’ again - second time around and I’m liking it just as much or maybe even better than the first time
I just started “Star Trek” (Original) Season 1, Episode 1.
I'm all caught up with Agents of Shield now. I was thinking about rewatching a Star Trek series, either DS9 or Discovery. Discovery is shorter and I expect a release date for the new season any time now. I'm thinking it will be November, after Lower Decks.
Finished off Stranger Things, Warrior Nun and Hanna, started Dark Matter yesterday and watched 4 episodes. Absolutely love this show so far. Can't believe I waited so long to watch it!!

They cancelled Dark Matter with no series finale ending; but renewed Killjoys )which I also watched & enjoyed)...

Oh, def watch Dark Matter; it's a good show. Just really bummed that it was cancelled without any closure...!
Yeah, when @GlenK mentioned it, I did a quick recon and saw it was 3 seasons with a cliffhanger and cancellation.
It looks really fun too. Though, I've recommended shows like Carnivàle to people, know it was two seasons and done with all sorts of dangling plots, etc.
So maybe.
