I’m having a hard time finding good TVshows. I tried Rebel, I stopped after 10 minutes. Then I tried the latest season of Masters of None…I managed to survive 30 minutes. Most probably the worst show I ever seen. I liked the first season, though.

Now I’m watching Resident Alien, it’s a bit funny, it reminds me of People from Earth.

I’m also watching Black Monday, it’s great too but very similar to all these Don Cheadle shows. The new season is fun. I really like Blair in this season.

Anyone got recommendations for another funny or comedy show?

I like Resident Alien. It was my sort of humour.

I did say I thought the series was good, just not as good as the hype suggested, at least not quite yet. I'm still planning to finish the series, and I'm planning to see BCS. I never said in my original post that I was not interested.

Well, hype is hype, whether it's overrated is a subjective opinion, and everyone is entitled to their own, whether it's this show or any other.

But to criticize the show, which is not a procedural, for not having enough drug elements and then follow that up by citing the essence of its story and applying the same negative connotation overshadows the rest of the argument, and generally paints a negative picture. Half way through the story.

That's akin to saying Game of Thrones doesn't have enough dragons or battles, and there aren't enough murders in The Sopranos to compensate for all the family drama.

Or saying ice cream isn't that great, because of its smooth, creamy texture, when that's what most people enjoy about it.

If you don't end up enjoying it as much as others do, that's fine, but if that's the basis for your opinion, don't be surprised if others may not agree.

Have just rewatched* the original TV series of Tinker, Tailor (Alec Guiness) and currently following it with Smiley's People. Really good and highly recommended, still stands up well today. (Tinker Tailor was free on Britbox but had to pay for Smiley's People on Amazon but it was only £3.)

* Vaguely remember watching it many days ago when I was a lot younger and the cast were still alive.

Yes, yes, yes! These are two of my favorites, and I keep them on my iPad, and have most of the other Le Carré adaptations as well. I didn’t care for the TTSS remake. A Most Wanted Man is another favorite adaptation. I so miss Philip Seymour Hoffman …

Well, things are picking up. I get what you are saying, and it is wrong that I'm basing my opinion on the show on one aspect. However, that aspect was the divorce storyline, and I'm not entirely a fan of Skyler right now, especially with what she was hiding in the closet. I just watched episode 6 of season 3 and things are starting to pick up in a big way.

I do think my favorite character in the series is Saul, so when I do see Better Call Saul, that will be a pretty interesting series.

"Hacks" on HBO Max

It's good! I finished half the series in one night!

Edit: Whole series in two nights! :)

Skyler generated a reaction for many people. You're not alone.

There are some memorable moments in S3.

And it's not about right or wrong; everyone has their own opinion. Don't judge S3, or the series, until you've digested it all. If even after that, there are gripes, that's fair; I have own in that regard as well.

A bit more British and started years ago but I really liked Peep Show.

I watched episodes 6, 7, and 8 last night and I think each episode had a memorable moment. I've been told that the series was a slow burn, and the first half of season 3 felt that way, but I'm in a stretch of Season 3 where I'm being rewarded for my patience.

The Inbetweeners, again. Not for those easily offended. Don't think they'd be allowed to make it in 2021.

Tried watching the US version once, oh dear.

I saw the third season Breaking Bad episode "Fly" tonight. I was reading reviews saying it was boring and it's the lowest rated episode of the series. I thought it was a tense psychological thriller. I don't mean that in a literal sense, but we really got deep into Walt's psyche here, and I thought it was so much better than the other Walt/Jesse only episode where they get stranded in the RV. Cranston was amazing with his monologue. Sometimes, the budget saving bottle episodes are the best because it forces the actors to really give it their all.

BB did the slow burn episodes very well IMHO.

I apologize for saying anything bad about Breaking Bad. I just started season 4, and this show is insane. That scene at the end with Jesse was some of Paul's best work, and then the long scene in the first episode of Season 4 with what Gus did was crazy. That was probably a 5 minute scene that was tense as hell, and it felt longer. I'm starting to see why this series is critically acclaimed, finally. Patience is a virtue and now I'm definitely being rewarded for staying with it.
