Okay, so we've been watching the current season of American Horror Story. The title and theme for this season is My Roanoke Nightmare. I've been thinking it was clever and fun, but holy cow, with the direction they took things in this last episode I've got to say that this is one of the most creative shows I've seen in a while. The whole premise is simply genius and it's by far the show I look forward most to watching each week. The cast is also pretty incredible with people like Kathy Bates, Cuba Gooding Jr. etc.. I really can't recommend it enough and we're only halfway through at this point.

And yes, I get it, this is not a binge watch, but it's one of the best shows on television right now.

We've always liked AHS, it's silly, campy, goes off the rails mid-season (every_single_time), but this season, they knocked it out of the park.

The first 5 EPs were decent, a few excellent moments, some good scares, but holy smokes, that EP 6 pivot I think will go down as one of the best "setups" ever, even if it took 5 episodes to get there. Really incredibly clever writing, meta-Meta-META, introspective of TV in general, confusing (in a good way), funny, yeah, A+.

And yes, I get it, this is not a binge watch [...]

Yeah, I think there's a "what's on TV", but this thread is way more active - I almost did the same a few days ago, a new series, not "binging", but just wanted to see if anybody had checked it out (it's Channel Zero on SyFy)

Are there any 24 fans in here? I need a second opinion.

I only just found out today about 24 Legacy and I watched the trailer and decided immediately I am not watching it; the trailer did not have the 24 feel and crucially there's no Jack Bauer.

I mean, I am only watching Designated Survivor because Jack Bauer is president (I do know that they are different characters).

I would like to hear other 24 fans input?

I'm going to see it. I don't know if I'm really going to hold it up to the original 24, but I'll definitely give it a shot.

24 with no Jack Bauer is like the bourne series without Jason Bourne!
I'll probably still watch it though at some point.

Ok two 24 four fans are giving it a shot, maybe I'm being harsh but 24 with no Jack or even Chloe just seems diabolical! would be grateful if when you start watching you post your thoughts.

Oh, I agree it definitely won't be the same. But being a fan of the overall show I think it's probably worthwhile at least giving it a shot. I mean, in a sense, it's like a franchise, and a lot of franchises are like that more or less, like Star Trek, or CSI, or NCIS, or various other ones, where the overall concept more or less remains but the circumstances, the characters/actors, and various details get changed with different series. Some are still quite good, and perhaps might even better than the original, others not so much.

Exactly; funny you say that I did not watch the imposter Bourne film (I can't remember what it's called) for similar reasons.
I remember my cousin telling me about 24 when it was on the BBC and him saying to me 'your 3 hours behind' I was thinking huh? watched it and remember thinking I've never seen anything like this before; the Beeb also had a great show called 24 post mortem where one of the villains was dubbed 'the man from Del Monty' that's the kind of nostalgic memories I have of 24 and it feels besmirched with no Jack!

Let me know your thoughts when you do eventually get around to watching it.

You make good points; I need to at least give it a go and Homeland was not too bad without Brodie.

I hope this is good or they at least pander to fans like me by having at least a scene of Jack in Russia or Chloe.

London 24 was awesome! but man when Jack got captured I really felt it; I was hoping the writers would give him a break.

Sadly I'm on about this (I only heard about it today).

Yeah I am going to give it a watch. It could be good but only by watching it will we find out!

I am sure jack himself will be back at some point too :)

Season 3 episode 9 of The Walking Dead. Daryl left with his brother, and Rick is seriously losing it, hallucinating Lori, who is better off gone.

Just polished off the four seasons of Longmire (currently on Netflix), and I'm now jonesing badly for season 5. It's different than Craig Johnson's novels in that the title character is necessarily third-person, not first person as in the books. But Robert Taylor is perfect in the role (you'd never know he's an Aussie), Kaytee Sackhoff is fantastic as Vic, and Lou Diamond Phillips is the ultimate Henry Standing Bear.

And I still cry during "Sleeping in the Light."
Well, with season 5 of Longmire having been released not long ago on Netflix, looks like they are going ahead with the 6th season, which at this point looks like the last one: http://deadline.com/2016/11/longmire-renewed-season-6-final-season-netflix-1201846759/

Started Helix. I tried to suspend disbelief, but I don't believe it's possible to identify the species a hair came from just by looking at it.

However, remote location; a double "who sleeps with whom" triangle; people dissolving into black goo; and frozen monkeys, oh yeah, I'm in.

Walking Dead, Season 3 Episode 12 "Clear". I couldn't decide which was worse, the condition of Morgan, or the treatment of the hitchhiker. Followed up with 2 episodes of "New Girl". Doesn't really matter which episodes, although one was the "Danger" party.
