Breaking TV news:::

A Sons of Anarchy spin off called 'Mayans MC' will start in the fall of 2017, confirmed by FX. This should be good since SOA was super awesome.

Finished the fifth episode of Helix. With two more discs to go, the jury is still out if I'll finish season 1

I think I made it through the first season or almost made it. Never got started on the second and then found it it was cancelled afterward.

Designated Survivor has heated up, I initially watched it because I'm a 24 fan but so far it is pretty good.
Feels like the same writers from 24 and Homeland.

I watched Arrow season 1 but it's not really holding my interest to go on to season 2.

If it was more centured on the island I would watch but otherwise it's just Meh.

Marvel agents of shield is looking though and I can't wait for the returns of: Billions, Homeland, Luke Cage, House of cards, Suits and the 100 next year.

Also watched Arrow for a short while. Like you, it didn't hold my interest. I may watch Black Sails over again, which I thought was good, until the final season is released in 2017.

We recently finished binging on Outlander, and really enjoyed the series. Looking foreword to the next season. I hadn't read any of the books, so I can't compare the screen version. In any case, the television series is wonderful to escape into.

I've gone totally retro. Antenna TV is showing an hour of Green Acres weekdays, and I've been watching the series from the beginning. Despite the show's age, it's refreshingly deranged.

I've been DVRing the first half of season 3 of Gotham, and I think as soon as the holidays die down I'm going to sit down and watch it over a period of a few days.

Green Acres was a 1960s sitcom about an attorney who hated the city and more or less forced his wife to move with him to a farm.

Unlike the other rural sitcoms of that era (The Bevery Hillbillies, e.g.), Green Acres became more and more surreal as the show went on. The townsfolk weren't just eccentric, they were bizarre. Fred and Doris Ziffel, for example, raised a pig as their son. Arnold the pig liked to watch television, attended school, and later went to Hollywood. Most freakishly, almost everyone in town could understand Arnold's oinks and carry on conversations with him...except for Oliver, the attorney.

Oliver's Hungarian wife constantly mangled the English language...and inexplicably the townsfolk spoke the same way. Then there was the local huckster, Mr. Haney; and the county agricultural agent, Hank Kimball, who was a walking combination of confusion and short term memory loss.

My favorite gag was when Lisa would sit up in bed looking at the on-screen Written by, Directed by, etc. credits, and then wake Oliver up to tell him that he missed seeing them.

Oliver was the only one who reacted to all this bizarreness with surprise. The rest of the characters just took it in stride like it was fairly normal.

I won't even begin to get into the episode in which one of their chickens began to lay square eggs.

Edit: pachyderm posted a perfect example! (The self-referential Zsa Zsa Gabor gag slays me!:p )
