Z nation tonight and finishing off the last season of Grimm which Mrs AFB likes.
Well, Mrs AFB is in for a treat! They are going to be starting a new Grimm spinoff! No word on when it will premier, but they are saying that some of the previous characters will be in it, too. I'm hoping for Bud, Rosalie and Monroe to make appearances. And the lead lead character in this one will apparently be female. Can't wait to see it!

Agreed. It would be terrible if they just left us hanging.

I became less interested in that show after I tried to watch Season 2 a few months after I had finished Season 1 and I found myself unable to follow anything that was going on. But maybe I need to give it a better effort.

(I also have read the book and I know that the TV show only connects to the book in the most rudimentary way).

That might make her day! Keep me posted.

The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix

Oh boy this show is good. Great atmosphere, some legitimately spooky imagery and great storytelling. Just finished episode 5, and the whole episode, and especially the ending was some of the emotionally heavier stuff I've seen on a show in a good while.

Good thing I basically have to have this finished by tomorrow morning before embarking on a work trip that, unfortunately, has a good chance of being even more scary and depressing than the show.

But yes, fantastic stuff and that Mike Flanagan sure has talent.

Been watching this show again recently, and it's still hilarious.

Ha, I've basically been couchbound on account of screwing up my leg a few days ago, so I've had time to enjoy the immobility and the, granted, limited but oh so delightful activities it affords!

The Haunting of Hill House
2018
Netflix
10 Episodes (all EPs released Oct 12th)

So we're doing a horror/Halloween movie a night through October, randomly selected, more here:

... but we decide to switch over to a Netflix series for last night's selection, since it's thematically perfect, and it just dropped. Wow, it's just fantastic, there's a reason for the great reviews all over the net, superb cast, director/writer, source material. It is incredibly creepy and spooky, and the broken family drama adds this layer of darkness even before the supernatural makes an appearance.

Glad you guys and so many others have enjoyed it! ;) Now, maybe it'll convince them to do another season....

On episode four, season 3 of Man in the High Castle. It’s dragging. Hope they wrap everything up next season.

Finished Making a Murderer part 2 yesterday. Bloody hell, there is something seriously wrong with US courts.

Wait, what? There's a second season out? Man I must be going blind. And deaf. And who knows what else. These things just keep catching me by surprise lately. First season 3 of Daredevil and now this.

Thanks!

Just discovered and finished Norsemen on Netflix. Surprisingly fun and different. Unexpectedly, consistently funny, if often violent and crude. Not that there's anything wrong with that.... It's a quick binge: 2 seasons each consisting of 6 30-minute episodes. Worth a look, I think.

Ok my list:

- The Good Place: fun comedy series, original plot. Currently season 3 is on.
Maybe I have a thing for Kristen Bell ;)

- Adam Ruins Everything: reminds me a bit of the Penn & Teller - Bullsh*t series. Adam debunks common knowledge in an entertaining way. Most of season 1 is available on Netflix.

- Shameless (US): comedy/drama series about a low-life Chicago family. Anything can happen in the episodes and nothing is too weird for television.

- Banshee - Ex-con by accident becomes the Sheriff of the town of Banshee. This one has some great action scenes, sometimes you can feel the pain through your TV screen though :)

- Boston Legal - A legal firm with interesting cases and William Shatner in the very entertaining role of Danny Crane. Recently I watched the whole Boston Legal series again. Just like Stargate SG-1 I do that every couple of years.

- Better Off Ted - A science company with a crazy boss and even crazier scientists. It would be fun to have a boss like the one that Portia de Rossi portrays in this series.
