OK I've finally have had it. Now I'm really pissed. Last nite I wanted to listen to Wolfgang's Vault on my Ipad and guess what they use flash to stream there audio. it was bad enough I cant view Hulu but this is the last straw! Most of the sites I go to are using flash. Who can I sent a very angry email to at Apple. I need an address. I'll email Steve Jobs himself if it will help. w/o flash this thing is almost useless as a internet device.

Mike

It's just YOUR problem: I thanks Apple every single day for not having Flash crapware on my iDevices

Blame the web designers of the site you would like to browse.

There's a free Wolfgang's Vault App. I've had it on my iPhone for over a year now. It's awesome and Flash-free.

Not only 1/10 for trolling by the OP, but a google usage fail as well since he couldn't find the app. I suggest the OP call the:

no this is not a bait
I'm just an old jackass. I was going to wait till the next generation came out but then Att screwed everybody by limiting their data plan so I bought the ipad and a 3gs iphone to get in under the wire. Sorry to say I really don't know much about apple equpt in general. the last apple I owned was a apple II. after that I moved over to pc's and never looked back. I'm still trying to figure how to use itunes.
so lets try and go easy on the old man huh?

Again, Mike...check out the Wolfgang's Vault App. You won't be disappointed.

Hulu blocks everything but desktops from watching their videos. Even the PS3 got blocked and it can view all of their ads and such. Hulu is wanting money, plain and simple. The more they block the more they force you to do things their way.

When/If they ever do come out with a Hulu app, it will be a paid app, and probably with a membership fees. Just like netflix, or xbox live, since you will need gold to use it. (assuming since netflix and all is gold only)

Adobe bought Macromedia and killed flash. They were more about developing it so that it was user friendly and played well. Adobe made it bloated and tries to get it to do more than it was ever designed to. I mean install it today and you'll get: the plug-in, their updater, offers for toolbars and more crap you don't need.

It all comes down to the almighty $ for all the company's. Apple, Adobe, Hulu and anyone else.

Look at BP.... lol

I checked into the app, it's only good for iphone but thanx anyway. I did email WV to ask them when they would be out w/ an app for the ipad. the next question is, do all the developers have to upgrade their apps to work w/ OS 4.0? it's always been nerve-racking when they come out w/ a new OS.

It still works with the iPad, so use it until the iPad version comes out. I really fail to see the issue on this one.

Your point about Flash I can understand, but developers really need to move on. I hate proprietary stuff and if people were serious about a universal web, they would all use open standards.

No the developers don't have to update their app for os 4, however most of them do and all previous os apps should work

i bought the iphone and ipad fully aware of the lack of flash.
It didnt bother me and i really didnt care. sure it would be nice to have it but i never missed it.

However I have been slowly growing to dislike flash. it constantly crashes on my mac mini and on my macbook pro.

I also tried flash on my android phone. it's horrible. video playback isn't smooth and battery life is crap (watched a 2 min trailer and the battery gauge went down 15%). also the phone kept overheating during playback.

Unless adobe can deliver a better product i dont think apple will be putting flash in their mobile devices anytime soon.

wasn't looking for sympathy just a little civility

Seriously email the website you would like to be able to view on the iPad. The more people that send in the suggestion the more likely that they will either change the site or make an app to get their content out to as many people as they can.

I posted both the email and phone for the site you were talking about earlier in the thread. That is what I do and all but one of the sites I emailed replied back.

Talk to google, "flash doesn't work" however on my phone, it works wonderfully.
Try an android tablet, it'll support flash and be customizable =)

This was prominently discussed in many of the tech sites and forums on the web, including this one:

Steve Jobs Posts 'Thoughts on Flash' Open Letter

Flash also runs like cr*p on the few mobile phones that cripples itself with flash.

Exactly. Many of the largest websites were able to implement HTML5 in about 3 months, while Adobe can't make a decent mobile flash in 3 years.

And which android tablet should OP try, pray tell? Are there any available from reputable companies? Any that aren't just vaporware or the figment of a Fandroid's imagination?

Flash runs great on my Moto Droid 2.2 @ 1200Mhz.

Sure it does.

Well, he could just buy a netbook, more functionality, lower cost.

It never stops being comical watching an Apple-hater/troll spin themselves into the ground.

First, it was "buy an android tablet, they're great". Oh wait, you mean there aren't any real choices to do that? Okay, then just forget that you might want a tablet at all, and just settle for an underpowered p.o.s. netbook.

Thanks for the laugh.

Complain to your hearts content cuz Flash is never coming to the iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch.
