first pic is air 4. i guess it's just a cropped foto.

That’s weird. Are you saying that somebody took a photo of Air 4 and then cropped it right around the bezels, symmetrically cropping the top and bottom bezels to shrink them in the process? Who on Earth would want to do this and why? 🤷🏻‍♂️

as i said all the photos exctracted from the dedicated air 4 thread. maybe someone posted a no issues screen from another ipad for the reference without specifying the model, but it is air 4 only discussion.

i bought my new ipad air yesterday

64gb sg wifi

production week : 10-16 may .......so very new

NO LIGHT BLEED

Good to know they might have ironed it out by now. ✌️ Have you tried the usual tests with it? True Tone OFF, brightness to a 100% and the black background?

Ended up getting a Certified Refurb 2018 Pro 12.9 and no bleed issues! It also has much better proper viewing angles. Now that people are trading in for the new 2021 pros there should be a good chance for people to get a refurb especially the 11” which is by far the best value I’d get that over the Air 4 and it’s potential bleeding issues.

PICTURES ARE OF THE 12.9 SO DONT GET CONFUSED. My older posts of the Air 4 screen (Original and replacement unit) are on past pages of this thread here

I used the same lighting conditions and even TV show.

I think a lot of you are OCD.
OCD or not somebody has to hold Apple to a higher standard 😊 especially since not all iPad models have a well documented history of an issue specifically like this (forum threads on macrumors, Reddit, etc) imagine you’re coming from a older iPad and notice this issue when you go watch a movie at night… that isn’t OCD.

The term OCD is frequently misused on these forums. The core of it is an irrational pattern or action, negatively affecting a person’s life. You can learn more here:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obsessive–compulsive_disorder

Seeing a brighter spot on the screen across multiple iPad Air 4 does not qualify as an OCD, it is rather a sign of paying a great deal of attention to detail. Some people notice it, others do not. Some will be bothered by it, others won’t. Life goes on.

Wouldn't constantly staring at your iPad, trying to find spots and defects considered "an irrational pattern or action?"

Trying to find spots and defects just for the sake of it is not useful, of course. But what else are we meant to be doing with our iPads besides “constantly staring” at their screens, while using them, lol? Some people might just pay more attention to detail, I guess.

Hi guys, anybody’s ipad air 4 have the same issue as mine?
The left side of the ipad , have shadow, or maybe like a spine. But only the left,

the top- right- and bottom have a sharp one

(u have to Have all white screen to see it) Is it normal?

I do not have it on mine - tried with Safari, Settings, Calendars. With True Tone and Auto-Brightness both ON, I cannot see any shadows anywhere on the screen.

I just got an iPad Air 4, manufactured on July and there is a small backlight bleed in the same location of others. I only see it in dark rooms with brightness at 100%, not a big a deal tho.

sucks for people who have this but saw a parents Air4 and looked at black screens and such - looks fine

looks the same as my 2021 11" Pro quality wise looking at Home Screen and browsing a bit and some photos, just without ProMotion

I’m on my fourth replacement with a Sky Blue 256GB and I had a bleed on the exact same spot for all four. I really love this device and want to keep it and I’m hesitant if I should continue returning it.

Please comment and provide pictures if you don’t have bleeding on the new Air
