Had the mini for a week now and love it. Only regret is getting 128 gb. I should have gotten 256 so it will last longer.

I have moved from 64GB to 128GB with 100GB free. 😅
It’s not now, it’s in the long run as the OS versions get bigger and you add more photos, videos etc. I’ve never regretted maxing out on storage on any phone I kept a long time - should have stuck to that philosophy here.

A lot of people's phone usage isn't going to drastically change year to year. iOS software hasn't doubled in size in recent years. I am guessing a lot of people don't keep their phones past 5 years (for one reason or another) As such, to encourage people to buy more than twice the current needed storage for some mystery use that might occur years down the line isn't very practical, in my opinion.

People should buy what their current needs are today. Advertising and forums like this are where a lot of people get the notion that no mater what, they need 256GB (or more) storage on their phone, which simply isn't true.

Not everyone uses their phone in the same manner. As such, you can't just issue one size fits all storage statements.

Same with me. I think 64gb should’ve been suffice for me. But I don’t know in the future.
16gb used to be enough for me, until my colleague and clients start sending large attachments through WhatsApp instead of email.

And I think that 100gb free space would be handy for me whenever I go on vacation for storing photos and videos I shot along with some offline music files.

64GB + iCloud has been working great for me for years.

I do an annual save and delete of my all photos/videos to my computer with each of my phones. Makes my annual phone upgrade less painful (on the transferring of data).

I m worried about 12 Mini, it seems in US, 12 Mini is rather a curiosity than a top seller
Same for EU, iPhone 12 Pro Max are often sold out and you can easily find 12 Mini in stocks
It seems 12 Mini isnt appeal to mass market.
Do you think Apple will keep Mini size for the next years?
I am truly afraid if 12 Mini has same destiny as SE (2016-2020)
Are you buying an iPhone because of what others are using or for yourself? That’s the only question. You can always move up if you want.

So i was excited to receive the phones on tuesday. Ups says delivered at front door but no package was left.

I have started the claim process with ups and tmobile. Told me they will have an answer and what my options will be on the 29th.

I am beyond pissed and stressed out.
Update: Tmobile sent me an email that they will refund my money due to missing packages. To buy the phones at a tmobile store. "In the future,
Your money may not be refunded if it says delivered"

Seems like they want to blame it on me and that they are cutting me some slack.

First of all, I got video proof that no one showed up at the time the phones were delivered. And also they need to request signature for expensive items.

Now, ill have to see what tmobile has the 256gb capacity iphones that i want as they typically carry base storage.

Just bought a 12 mini 256 gb white!

After few days I can say that I like it very much! Bought Friday morning, set up and I worked Friday evening. Saturday and Sunday I stayed outside and inside the house and hadn’t got problems with battery and all the functions. Yesterday and today at work with no problems. I’m really happy for my choice.

Next days I will put all my old photos from older iPhone in this baby!

For most of iPhone users (iPhone 12/Pro/Max), dont worry Apple keep updating your model every years, that will not even cross your mind
For mini/compact users, we want Apple to keep Mini and not give up if it doesnt meet success
First gen SE hasnt updated until now with SE 2020
Same for my iPad Mini 5, i ve updated from 4 after so many years of expecting new model (successive iOS made him really sluggish to use)
Some Apple models are randomly updated tho!
I will give you another example, some Android model/brand gave up or even completely disappeared: I remember Essential Phone made by a former Google ceo, one of first borderless smartphone, it doesnt meet success
You literally buy a dead product
its nice to buy a successful model, we dont know if Apple would keep Mini in near future
And you asked me why i would bother about Mini's success?!

Wouldn't the screen be too small for photos?

Just reporting in, the 12 mini turned out to be exactly as perfect as I hoped. Some times I dont even know that is in my pocket, literally this very morning I said to my wife "Can you bring my phone down? Oh no sorry, it was in my pocket". Every time I pick up her 12 Pro 5.8" it feels huge.

I have even asked colleagues to pick it up to experience how small it is feels in their hands. Very few share my enthusiasm though.

SMOL FOR THE WIN!
Thats the best thing is when you forget it’s in your pocket.

For people that are using wallet with 12 mini, especially naked\caseless: is it comfortable in your experience? I think that I will need to put in three cards (working badge, credit card and driving license) and a 20€ banknote. Share your experience please :)

My guess is that as we move on, more and more stuff will be kept in the cloud; my entire photo/video library is in the cloud, so I use 31 out of 64 gb on my iPhone, not specifically limiting myself in any way. If you want to keep a hard copy of everything on your iPhone, then yes, but there are very few people out there using only their phones for all their IT needs, I guess.
