Maybe they should have made the Mini the more expensive phone, to make it seem more special ;)

Might still become a sleeper hit.

But i only really need it to sell well enough, for them to keep it in the line up in the future. Don't care if it is the most popular option.

12 mini case next to the original SE and the SE inside, and also the 6s.

The 12 mini case is small when I first held the case, but after comparison, I’m still intrigued, it just will be about the battery life for me.

The 6s has a little more width but overall its the same size as the case, but not so much the inside.

Man, the iphone 5 (se) looks so weird with the home button.... the dimensions of the home button up against the screen so out of proportion. Definitely because we've all seen the 6 size for the last many years.

Dumb questions
Can my actuall 5w usb-a to lightning still charge an iPhone 12 Mini?
Do i need to buy another and more powerful cigarette lighter charger when using an iPhone 12 Mini while driving (as GPS)?
Thanks

Anyone swapping their 12/12 pro for a mini?

I did too. 12 Pro was also too big and heavy for me after the X and i returned it after the first weekend.

And tbh i really hated the shiny borders of the Pro, because of how much they attract fingerprints and it looked terrible to me.

The non-pro attract more fingerprints on the back, but i rarely look at the back and it is also easier to clean. (just swipe it over the shirt once)

It is very easy to get sucked into buying the "best" phone (specs), even if you don't really need it ;)
But i think for me, the smaller size of the Mini will be the best feature of them all.

In my opinion, size is the most important feature of all, although many here don’t think of it as such and sacrifice ease of use for other features such as camera etc.

We also shouldn't forget when it comes to price and size that it is way harder to fit all the internal hardware in a smaller case, even with a smaller battery. Yes, chips and internal hardware in general keep getting smaller but there are also more and more internals to put into. So having the latest and greatest without anything missing besides the Pro Max camera and a bigger battery is also some genius engineering. I think besides the maybe not so high demand this is also a reason many companies don't release a small high end phone. Way too costly to engineer and less expensive then bigger models imo.

Me, I returned my 12 Pro after a week or so because it felt too big and I’m starting to get tired of big and heavy phones. I have an 11 Pro day after day it’s becoming heavier and heavier in my hands. I’m looking forward to the 12 mini lightness.
I think a lot of people are starting to come full circle with their phone. Like many of us, they have gotten tired of the dealing with the large phone and want to return to the smaller size for portability and convenience of use, and transitions to using an iPad more often than the phone after the transition.

So I was set on getting the 12... but your photos make me think I should choose the 12 Mini instead! 😅

I wouldn’t say I’m swapping my iPhone 12 Pro for the Mini, but I do own the 12 Pro and have Preordered the Mini in order to compare and see which one I will keep.
I don’t think the Camera (night time shots) will be a major factor for me (as I’ve preordered to the 12 Pro Max for my wife) but will see how Battery Life lives up to my daily usage and habits.

Should be fun :)

They all have Night mode. (all the 12s)

This is the one I want. I'd be upgrading from an iphone 7 which is still fine (replaced battery 6 months ago).

But I was really hoping apple would add touch id to the power button on the iPhone 12 :-(. So I'm thinking of just waiting until next year. Or is touch id and 120Hz unlikely again?

The odds of the two new features mentioned coming to fruition next year are a coin toss at this point.

Isn’t the material the same on the mini? Also the the 12 mini has the same specs as the 12, oh non-pro, except the size. The 12 pro and non pro names don’t make a difference on the material, just the camera but I could be wrong. 🤷‍♂️
