Wireless charging is fantastic and why would they remove the lightning port just for wireless charging as you are implying? So they will remove the ability to charge the phone in the car or sync with computers?
Manufactures don't remove USB ports for wireless charging capabilities and you should try it. Its great to put a phone down or pick it up with no fiddling with cables.

Where did I say or imply anything about removing the lightning port just for wireless charging. I am not sure where you got that from. I think you need to reread my post again. I said I don't find wireless charging anymore convenient and time saving than plugging the little cable into the phone. You might save maybe 2 seconds at most but by the time you fiddle with the dock station and I fiddle with the cable it cancels each other out. I have had 2 phones that had wireless charging and I tried it out a few times and found it a gimmicky feature and went back to just plugging it in. I found wireless charging way slower charging the phone than directly plugging it in. Everybody says "well wireless charging is so much better because when you get home or at the office or whatever you just put lay the phone on the desk or in the charging dock and when you pick up the phone you have a fresh battery" Well when I get home or at the office all I do is grab the cord and plug it in and lay it on the desk. And when I pick it up guess what? I have a fresh battery too. Plus it is a lot easier to pack a little cable around every where you go than a dock station. Yes you buy another cord to take with you and leave the dock station in one place but why buy another cord when I already have one. And by the time you you fiddle around sticking your phone on the wireless dock I will have already plugged it in and laid it on the desk.

You know what...... I have NO IDEA ........ I must have been half asleep haha :p Sorry ;)..

I still like wireless charging, even if I don't use it anymore. Some cars have it built in, it's the future. :D

What do you do if your phone battery is dead and you need to use your phone? Do you have to hold the phone and dock station up to your ear so you can make or receive a call. I just plug the cord into the phone and I can use the phone no problem. Seems to me that way works better. But each to their own.

I wouldn't know as I don't let my battery run flat. But if it was a perfect world you would have wireless charging stations built into furniture and desks and cars etc so you would charge a phone up wirelessly just as easily as with a cable simply by putting it down, plus you wouldn't have to fumble around with chargers.

You can still plug it in for those situations. And in other situations you can just lay it down to charge.

I like wireless charging when it's there, but at same time I don't 'miss it' or feel I'm 'missing out' when it's not. So yeah, on the fence really.

The advent of super fast charging I think has made the benefits of the charging cable a little more appealing than wireless charging current until we get proper fast wireless charging.

Don't forget that fast wireless chargers exist too. Apparently Samsung's own wireless chargers can charge to nearly full in two hours.

Yeah I have one. It's more like 3 in reality with my Edge + compared to plugging it in and using fast charge in just over 1/3rd the time. Hence I said "until we get proper wireless fast charging' ;)

I charge my iPhone in 5 or 6 places; upstairs, downstairs, family/work office, family room, living room, car, etc. I have a brick in my offices where half hour charge gets a day on the 6s; same usage basically as old 5s. My computer usb also supports fast charging. To me wireless is the same as the notification light; removable battery and sd card.

I am curious what computer do you use? As far as I know (could be wrong) I didn't know a computers USB port has enough juice to supports fast charging like certified "fast charging" chargers.

Ah the two hour near full charger I read about must be for the s6/edge variant with smaller battery.

I'm thinking of getting one if I can find the right black Friday or cyber Monday deals. Definitely wouldn't mind if my wireless chargers were faster.

Until then, fast charging with the cable is terrific. A life saver sometimes.

I have an Asus laptop n550jx that supports usb 3 and 2.1a. It will charge my iPad for example.

Nice laptop and it may charge your devices fast but tbh it's not "fast charging". Sorry to mince words but there are chargers that are fast chargers But I don't thing your laptop is certified fast charging for mobile devices.
Anyway sorry to be off topic.

Yeah, there might be a little hair splitting, but laptop does not support Qualcomm quick charge 2; which is the base technology behind fast charging, but higher amp USB port which in 15 to 20 minutes(as does the brick) give enough juice for way more than several hours. Maybe less than f/t but much more than conventional. /ot

I bought the tempered glass screen protector for my 6S Plus that puts a select and back button either side of the one touch home button. It's very cool and handy indeed and works very well. For €8 it was a bargain.

So it works? I have seen them advertised but was hesitant to order one. My son has one ordered but it is on backorder.
Does it work as advertised?
Do you have an order link perhaps?

Yeah it works great. Bought it for both the iPhone 6 & my 6S Plus (though it says 6 plus on the box) and both work great. I'll get you the eBay link I ordered from

http://www.ebay.ie/itm/301761990183

http://www.ebay.ie/itm/291584280247

Ordered both at same time and both came this morning. Took about 2-3 weeks I think altogether, but so cheap it was worth the wait.

Thanks MRU!
Those sellers don't deliver to the US so I ordered this one from Amazon. Hopefully it works as advertised...i should get it by Wednesday.

Noticed one strange quirk. Whilst the capacitive lower area works ok it has dulled the top area meaning it no longer is as responsive if you use it like normal. It's a bit quirky. I'll see how I get on for a week and decide if it's a keeper or will go back to my spigen or ANKER

I switched to an iPhone 6S. I returned it after 10 days for a refund.

There were too many annoying little nuances that, after years of using Android, made the iPhone frustrating to use. I'm finding Android hardware quite underwhelming recently, but the iPhone is not for me.

I just got an iPhone 6S+ last week. My last iPhone was a 4S (and had every iPhone before that since the very first one). After the 4S I used a Nexus 4, Note 2, for two years and then a Note 4 for the last year. While I liked the Note 4 its battery got really bad recently and I needed to get a replacement (easy to do as it is replaceable). I couldn't see getting a Note 5 since I wouldn't be able to do that. But more than that I got tired of the "layers" I had to deal with on my AT&T Note 4: Samsung, AT&T and--it seemed like--Android as 3rd. I needed some Amazon apps so that gave me a total of 3 app stores to contend with. And last year I was "certain" my Note 4 would be rooted before the iPhone 6/6+ was jailbroken. Well, that turned out to be 100% wrong. Wow.

A lot has changed since my 4S, and at times it has been confusing. Conversely, a lot has stayed the same. At this point I still am leaning towards keeping the 6S+.

I at first thought I would 'die' without a dedicated back button but after I got used to the swipe-from-the-left I good with that option--might even like it better. Not being able to use a custom launcher bothered me but in actual use it is not that big a deal. I "sort of" miss the only two widgets I used but they were just news and weather, so no biggie.

I am liking the experience of the iPhone again--and I don't mean "ecosystem" as I still use Google for email, calendar etc. It just feels smoother to me, and yes I know some of that is an illusion. But I still like it. I like that most things really do just work.

For instance on my Note 4 "OK Google" stopped working a month or two after I got it. I could play around with enabling it, disabling it, re-recording my voice, playing with S Voice, etc. But it always stopped working so I quit using. Hey Siri, at least so far, seems to work all the time.

If I do decide to return this 6S+, which doesn't seem likely so far, I don't think I will be getting a Note 5. I am done with the Samsung soup added to the mix. And for SURE it won't have carrier branding on top of that. Ugh.

Drama day!!!

So I didn't like the screen protector with back buttons. It kind of worked but the fact it dulled the top of the device meant it had to go. I ordered a plain tempered glass to replace it. Took off the first, opened the package with the replacement only to find the screen cracked in its packaging. So ordered a replacement ... So was bare for a less than a day and this evening coming out of the gym my phone falls from my pocket and now it's scratched and chipped !!! FFS

Thankfully I bought Apple Care + so I can do an accidental damage claim and €99 later it will be replaced. But talk about fecking typical timing. First time not having a screen protector and first time ever dropped my phone onto ground. Peeved off tbh.
