Soo...I've had the best phones (IMO) in 2015 this year.

iPhone 6S Plus
Note 5
Nexus 6P

...they all have their pros and cons...but if I had to choose ONE...hmm, for best phone of 2015...hmm...it'd be something like this:

iPhone 6S Plus (10)
Note 5 (9.9)
Nexus 6P (9)

I have had all the following phones this year:

iPhone 6S plus
Note 5
Moto X Pure
Nexus 6P

In my opinion the best would be:

Nexus 6P (9.5)
iPhone 6s plus (9.0)
Moto X Pure (9.0)
Note 5 (7.0)

Just preferring the stock android experience right now and find Google Now much better then Siri. Also AMOLED display just looks nicer than LED. Note 5, I just cant stand touchwiz and all the bloat. Moto X Pure is nice, but don't really care for the small moto software (moto voice to be specific).

Are we doing a 'I've had these phones this year' thing ? Can I join in ? :D
Yes, please! Lol. Who's your Top 3 phones? Which did you like the best? I only named the three that stood out to me, but I've had more this year.

Moto X Pure / Style

Nexus 6P

I would love to try the Blackberry Priv before the year is out.

Don't buy that, they go from its a known issue in June to no we do not in November with no record of the issue being fixed.

I just transferred some photos and videos from OneDrive and from Airdrop directly from my iPhone to my Mac. So far, the file size of all the photos and videos are identical and I do not see any difference in visual detail. I am curious to hear the results of you and others doing similar tests. I will drop OneDrive in a second if there is any chance that they do apply any compression to photos/videos...

Just had a chance to test this, I viewed a couple of photos on my same Mac laptop on it's screen, side by side, using my Chrome browser, using the One Drive website and the iCloud website, and their is definitely a very subtle difference and the iCloud photos look better of my dog.
I've just bought the 200GB iCloud and will see how it goes, at least if I set it all up everything will be automatic with no fuss.

Yeah, the difference was very subtle but in my eye's it was certainly there.

I hope Apple's latest Magnetic charging dock for their Apple Watch is an indication of a future magnetic charging dock-ish type thing for iPhone 7.

I don't get the whole wireless charging thing. Wireless charging is slower than plugging it directly in. Plus I would rather carry my lightening cable than a huge wireless charging dock. Plus how hard is it to pick up the little lightening cable and plug it into the dam phone. The time difference and convenience between wireless charging and plugging in the little cable is virtually nothing. Have people become that lazy that they can't take 2 extra second to pick up the little cable and plug it into the little socket on the phone. How hard and long does it take.

Wireless charging is fantastic and why would they remove the lightning port just for wireless charging as you are implying? So they will remove the ability to charge the phone in the car or sync with computers?
Manufactures don't remove USB ports for wireless charging capabilities and you should try it. Its great to put a phone down or pick it up with no fiddling with cables.

The last iPhone I had was the 4S, and since, I've been using the Note 2, 3 and currently the 4. I'm not overly excited about any specific new features announced yesterday, though I am excited about the overall capabilities of iOS compared to a few years ago since I last used the 4S, and the strong integration with OSX. Any one else thinking of switching over?

I switched to an iPhone 6S. I returned it after 10 days for a refund.

There were too many annoying little nuances that, after years of using Android, made the iPhone frustrating to use. I'm finding Android hardware quite underwhelming recently, but the iPhone is not for me.

Wireless charging isn't that great to be honest

Using the dock connector on the iPhone at home is fine. And at least you can check notifications without needing to pick your phone up or leaning over like with wireless charging.

Wireless charging is just so much slower in general. I think it's more of a gimmick.

I barely used it with my Samsung devices

The 6s and iOS 9 is one of the best releases by Apple. Hit the nail on the head with this one.

edit: But you have to go with what works for you.

They do make wireless chargers that stand your phone up or have it lying down.
If you have your phone on your nightstand charging all night anyway then wireless charging is great. It just depends on the use cases.

EDIT:

Here is one of many wireless charging stands

I hope they add wireless charging to the iPhone 7 for the option. Whether I will use it remains to be seen. I only charge my phone once a day and it just plugs in next to my bed at the moment. A pad would do the same job but in an interesting way.

I'd be happy to see wireless charging on an iPhone but only if 1) it doesn't come at a cost of compromising other elements of the phone, and 2) it's not some Apple proprietary charging method--Qi or don't bother.

I enjoyed using wireless charging on other Android devices I've owned--the convenience and simplicity are great, especially considering I find the microUSB port to be a bit of a nuisance to use. That being said, it's not a feature that will make or break a purchase decision for me.

Yes. I don't get the big deal with wireless charging either.

I don't doubt it's the best, but I just prefer Android.

For example, on my Mac, when I'm down the bottom of a long web page, I can 'flick' my fingers up and the page speedily scrolls back up. And when I want the fast scrolling to stop, I just put my fingers on the trackpad and it stops.

On my Android phone, it's the same.

But on the iPhone, scrolling up a long page takes flick after flick after flick. It's like there's some friction on the page scrolling mechanism. It's infuriating!!

Wireless charging definitely isn't about speed. It's about convenience. If you need to charge quickly, there happens to be quick charge features on a number of Android devices.

Wireless charging is more about maximizing your device's idle time. Putting your phone on a wireless charger is just as easy as putting your phone on the desk. Except, now it's being topped off. So it's actually not even so much about the whole "don't need to plug in a wire" thing (though that is quite nice); it's much more about having your battery levels be topped off throughout the day/time because anytime it's idle, it's charging, too.

You set up the charger once, and that's it. It's there. And if you have a charging stand (as I do), you can even check your phone while it's charging as notifications come in, etc.

As for your concerns about traveling, you don't have to necessarily bring the wireless charger with you when you travel. When you travel, just bring your cables as you normally would have to anyway. That's the thing about wireless charging, it's an extra feature. Keyword here being "extra." You can still charge the old way with the wire to your heart's content. Maybe you don't want to spend the money on a wireless charger. Luckily, it's a choice. There's nothing "lazy" about people who use wireless charging. It's convenience. Maximizing your device's idle time, so the battery is always being juiced and/or topped off.

But again, don't let me or anyone else tell you. The day it comes to the iPhone, a lot more people will begin to understand.

I think you mean annoying, you really shouldn't get infuriated just because scrolling is slower.
