I’m excited for it to be real and all the word out after a boring and slow apple year, but hopefully my will is strong enough to not refresh anything this go round

Well
I know they interfere with the heart rate monitor but what else doesn’t work?

notifications seemed to stop working for me as soon as I had the tattoo done so pretty much nothing would come through for me, I ended up giving it to my wife and it worked perfectly for her. I wonder if the fact that it just couldn't recognise that it was on my wrist was the reason it stopped working altogether for me. have a pretty decent black patch right where it sits so I've read that black is the worst colour for it to work through.

This is the first year I am not really excited. I have had every iPhone and I think I am just getting bored of iOS. I am looking forward to the bigger phone, but I wish there was a little more customization of the operating system.

Next year will apparently be the iOS overhaul we have all been waiting for.

I haven't seen the high-horsey people piling on with lectures about our priorities and throwing their wet blankets everywhere yet, but I know they'll arrive soon. So, preemptively, let's stipulate:

I know it's "just a phone" (actually, it's way more than that, but still),
I know there are bad things in the world that are more worthy of our attention,
I know that there are more important things in life, and I properly tend to those things and keep them in perspective, including friends, family, health, finances, work, etc,

and yet, I'm still excited for the new iPhone. It's a fun time. :)

Everyone has hobbies. No one should really judge the hobbies of others and what they choose to spend time on really (so long as its legal etc.)

I’m definitely excited as I’m wanting a new device, but I like Touch ID a lot, so at this point I’m just hoping Apple releases an upgraded model with Touch ID.

I was using iPhone X. I sold it a month back to buy new iPhone XS+

Currently using iPhone 6 and trust me I miss Face ID. It's way better than Touch ID.

The effort to keep your on Touch ID just feels like going all the way back. Face ID is a breeze, just look and boom!

Yep, but they do, every year. Oh, well. Bring on the X Max Factor Plus! :)

I know, right? Every time my iPad asks me touch the home button, it annoys me. I love Face ID. I’m hoping the new models will have faster Face ID that works from wide angles.

a notch? -> not excited.
a glass on the back? -> definitely not excited.

if one of those two or both still exist, i can live with my 6s+ the next year too.

What's wrong with the glass back? If you don't like the feel/look of it -> skin. If you're worried about shattering it -> case.

And the notch is beautiful for me.
And I can assure you both of the things will remain this year.

I don't watch Netflix or videos on iPhones. Even when I'm travelling. It's just on a very rare case if I want to finish some series or movie. But the Notch really doesn't do any harm. You got to use to for a while to understand that. If you take someone else iPhone X and then try to watch a video, you're subconscious mind is straight away going to look at the notch and forget the video.

Don't worry about the Notch, you will thank Apple to have notch cause Face ID is a lot more than just unlocking your iPhone and it's definitely one of the best features Apple has come up with lately.

Often people compare Apple's 3D Face ID vs Android's 2D Face unlock but these two are totally different from how they work to what extent they can do. Apple's Face ID is miles ahead.

At this point, I'm just hoping for a model without a notch and with a home button. I have OCD, and sometimes I wipe my thumb up and down my phone a lot. The "swipe up" home button would definitely annoy me. Also, am I the only one who watches a lot of videos on their phone and would very much not like a random part of the video to be cut off by the notch?

The 9 or lower end model should come without one. That would be the best route to separate the low end model.

At this point I have no clue WTH Apple is doing anymore.

I’m more excited about the Apple Watch Series 4, than I am about the new iPhones. I have the X, so I didn’t preorder the XS Max that I was eyeing but instead preordered the Apple Watch Series 4. Friday need to hurry up now.
