I love Lisa from MTR! No bs and thorough unbiased review

pretty sure she posts here every once in a while too
I like her a lot, because she doesn’t try to use sex appeal at all. She knows her stuff and is enjoyable to listen to. Same with Erica griffen, who is extremely in depth when it comes to screen quality issues.

They're both really awesome, no thrills, and down to business. Just the way I like YouTube videos.

especially a fan of the screen observations no one else does it like Erica in that regard

I have just ordered the black, 64GB, model. The negative comments I have read have - in my opinion - come from those with the top end, flagship models. Obviously this iPhone wasn't aimed at them. But for people like me - coming from an original SE - and those on older iPhones, this will be a fantastic buy I think.

Not all of us need the latest functions and gimmicks. I'm not a heavy user. Key things for me were:

  • Touch ID
  • Being able to get iOS updates for the next 4/5 years
  • A reasonably fast phone
  • Decent camera
  • Size - it will be my largest phone yet!
  • Price

Bezels? I am not fussed. It still looks good to me. My wife has a 6 Plus and on the occasions I use that, my current SE does feel a bit like a toy in comparison! However, I look at the sizes of some mobile phones these days and I cannot believe how big they are. Far too big for my liking. Combine the factors above with a sensible price and I think this is going to be a very popular iPhone.

Anyone who really does use the new SE for 4/5 years is going to save a ton of money! Easier said than done for a lot of us, though.

For me, it was around 30% money and 70% Apple not releasing an iPhone model that I liked.

I'll probably end up trying the new OLED iPhone 5.4" to see if it triggers migraines. If it does, I expect I'll be using the SE 2 for a long, long, long time.

For me, I definitely can't afford to find ~£500 just to upgrade my iPhone every year. All Apple products are a "considered purchase" for me.

If I consider that my Apple Watch, my iPad mini, and my iPhone won't last forever and I factor in that it's a struggle to replace just one of those in a year, then I've got to be thinking about each of these needing to last a good 3-4 years.

Last year I upgraded my iPad mini, this year it's my iPhone, next year it will probably be my Apple Watch. It won't be the turn of my iPhone again until at least 2023 - preferably not until 2024 or later.

Exactly.

It seems that some people:
- Have buckets of money to spend on tech (or rich parents)
- Only use a phone (don't have an iPad, and their old computer stays off collecting dust)
- Don't have other family members that need phones, tablets, computers, etc.

I’ve still seen guys hitting on her and Erica in their comments sections despite their no nonsense demeanor, though. I can’t imagine how annoying that is for them. I admire Lisa for getting through an incredible amount of information very fast and succinctly.

I ordered my iPhone-SE Black 128gb (Sim-Free and Unlocked) from Apple.com today for $449.
I also got the 2-yr. AppleCare+ for $79.
Says I should get it delivered to Texas in 2-3 weeks (May 13 - May 20).

Mine is still on "Processing" .

Since I usually just go down to the AT&T store to buy my iPhones (the whole 2 times before) :)
this waiting is hard.

Hopefully getting an un-locked phone (directly from Apple) is worth it. Also, seemed to make sense with the whole COVID-19 thing going.

Have just made the switch from iPhone 11 here. Apart from getting used to less battery life again and losing the dual camera set up I am very happy I made the switch.
I have been happy as well. Even though I am a light phone user, the iOS 14 beta has been taking some battery usage away from me. Today, I barely made it 13hrs off the charger (less than 3hrs screen on) before I had to put back on the charger. Not a big deal as I use my watch and iPad Pro the most.

I'm loving mine. Much better than my old iPhone-5s.

I setup old AT&T account (and number) with its internal e-sim (did NOT swap any sim-cards).

My Spigen clear case works nicely.

I decided to take the plunge and ordered the black 128gb SE today from Apple. Received the phone 2 hours after I ordered it, their courier delivery service is awesome.

Been using 11 Pro Max since late last year, while I love the big screen I forgot how nice it is to use a phone one handed. I planned on using the SE as my pure work phone for VOIP, I ended up moving my at&t e-sim over to the SE earlier tonight haha. Was so easy.

Face ID, while superior to Touch ID in my opinion, has become a real chore when out and wearing a mask. I’m not going to remove my phone password to make unlocking easier. So nice to quickly unlock the SE with a touch.

Coming from my 11 Pro Max the screen on the SE is nothing to sneeze at. Nice and bright, crisp, uniform, and no yellow tint that plagues some OLED iPhones. I am pleased so far.

I came from an 11 - had just been wanting something smaller. I played musical phones for a few weeks (tried an 11 pro then back to an 11 because I was worried the SE2 was too small). After 2 days with the 11 again, I went back to the SE2, and I’ve been super happy with it.

I think it’s a snappy little phone, takes great photos and videos, and I really like the size, and the Touch ID.

Is a good phone, considering the price.

But after a few month of use it, the sensation of using the same phone over and over (same design since iP6) is showing off. I had the 11Pro before this, so the "edge to edge" design is calling me again.

BUT I´m not going to pay 1000 dls for a phone anymore, so I´m waiting to see what the 5,4 inch ip12 has to offer and at what price.

The beta has been a battery death sentence. It's the worst battery life I've every gotten on any beta (been running them since IOS10).

sorry it has nothing to do with the iOS, it’s the battery. I had the white for about a week but i went with the pro. Needed more battery and I still get the same size.

Even with being around chargers. It was annoying. Didn’t want a battery case because I like other cases. Great standby time tho.

Is this battery issue only with the SE. If it was a iOS issue, wouldn't it affect other models.
It isn’t a battery issue per se. It is more so a matter of the battery being smaller than what large phone people are used to. And that is why many complain about the battery not lasting very long; when it fact, the battery has been used a good amount during the day.

Considering it was fine on 13, I peg IOS14 as the issue.

But its not fine on iOS 13.. the battery is tiny, and it shows. You've got a high performance chipset being driven by the battery from an iPhone 8.. and there is much disappointment. It says right on Apple's page to expect the same life as an 8. So.. not much better than a 7? All of the other A12's and A13's have a big battery behind them, while the SE does not. Mind you the SE doesn't have all of the hardware to drive that the others have, but still.. it shouldn't be a shocker. As enthusiasts, I'm surprised to even see these types of comments. I don't use the phone myself, but I bought one for my GF. Personally, I would rather use my XS Max.

I have random standby battery drain issues on 2 iPhone SE1s, 2 iPhone 6s, 1 iPP 9.7 and 1 iPP 10.5 on various versions of iOS 12 and 13.

One of the SE1s, I did an erase all and setup as new. It's just used as a backup device so I didn't insall any apps at all. That's been behaving again so far. I'll probably do the same for the 6s but the iPads would be a major hassle to setup as new, and manually install apps and adjust settings to get them back to their current state.
