Just got mine in: Black 256GB.
Arriving May 3 but for $200 off, I'm more than happy to wait.
Why? What's the deal with a red one ?
We put all out iPhones in protective cases (usually Speck). So, we are really just talking about the front, right?
My (current) iPhone-5 is black in a black case. I like that look. Only downside is that when picking it up (while it's sleeping) in low-light, it can sometimes take a second to know which way is "up".
I think a White front is very "Apple looking" and the wife likes that on her iPhone-6.

So, they ALL have a black-front (just looked closer) ... even the white one .
Yeah, I could not imagine using this daily for years and not have a nice cover on it. Not only to protect the body and (now glass) back ... but the rubber-raised-lip on the Speck-case also protects the screen (don't ask how I know).
So, for me ... I'll never see the color unless it peaks through the camera (or other) cut-out a bit.
Red 128gb > my 8+ is flaking out (Touch ID crapping out), and its not liking the LTE on all day now.

Flashy colors never outsell standard black/space gray or white/silver colors. Why? - Presumably because they're too flashy for most. Cool looking for a while, but maybe too much in the long term.
I think that all 3 colors look good. The reason why I chose white is because it's the only color way out of the 3 where the silver sides contrast against the front and back of the phone. To me, contrasting sides always make the phone appear thinner vs monotone color ways where the sides blend in with the back (red option), front, or both (black), resulting in a bulkier-looking device.
My iPhone 8 is space gray (basically black) and it's very lackluster. Looks like any other smartphone, which I don't like. The white with black front and contrasting silver sides looks unmistakably "Apple".

This is my first red device. I guess I will find soon enough if it is too bright for my liking. If so, I can always get a different color.
128 Black. Too tempting with the $200 off from Walmart on AT&T. Might be my new work phone since I have to wear a mask every day now. Maybe I’ll sim swap at home back to my 11 Pro. Who knows. For $249 it will be fun to play around with.

but oddly enough 4.7” is my least chartered size so it will feel refreshing and new to me personally for a “bin parts phone” of an exhausted form factor for most. The white looks really cool too haha

I suspect by a smidge this a13 3gb phone powering the lowest resolution in a13 class will hum along a little more like a9 on se1 at the time pushing 1136x640
I went with the same phone and almost bought a red case on amazon but went with a military green color case

Obviously who is foolish enough to offer 200 full price out the door, if a carrier gives you a deal they expect you to stick with them for a year or two
I ordered a white 128 GB unlocked one, it will be delivered on April 24th. Status has changed to “Preparing to ship.“
I always keep my phone in a flip case so I only ever see the back where the camera is. Reds too awkward for case choice. I picked white and hubby’s picked black.

I think it would be a first in Apple history, but it’s fun to speculate since we have almost a week to fill 🙃 What’s the possibility that, given the fact that this isn’t the hyped annual fall launch and since things are operating slowly due to the pandemic situation, they don’t make Fedex hold our phones for Friday delivery once they start shipping? Zero?
I don’t see Apple lifting the shipping restriction.
