I went from a Mini to 14PM last year and returned it after a week. Probably not terribly surprising.

This year I tried the 15P and it looks like a Max to me having come from the Mini. I'm pleasantly surprised it doesn't feel terribly heavier from the Mini -- quite a different experience than the 14PM which felt like a brick. I'm keeping it.

I wish Apple would move some common UX elements to the right-hand side though, like camera/photos inside the Messages app.

Always a tough decision - this year, I started with a 15PM but just felt it was big and awkward - and could hardly notice. Weight difference. The plus I can tell… ended up with a 15 pro and it’s great, good battery, bits in any pocket and easy to use one handed. Honestly you do not get much more text on screen when a max over a pro (maybe 15%). Not e enough for me to justify such a large and heavy footprint sadly. I do love the 15PM overall.

I’m in the process of returning mine. I considered a pro max last year, but didn’t wind up going with it because of the weight and size. This year I thought I’d be able to make the change - not much heavier than my 14 pro, so I thought it would be a good time to make the switch.

It was really okay at first, but I used it a lot over the first weekend, and realized it definitely caused hand and wrist fatigue for me. It’s been a couple weeks now, and that has not improved much, if at all. I’m afraid to not go through with the return and wind up not being able to adjust to it, so I am in the midst of it with ATT (though that has been a nightmare in and of itself).

I’m small with fairly small hands, so take my impression with a grain of salt for sure.
I think you will be happy with the 15 Pro. I went from the 14 Pro to the 14 Pro Max last year and while I loved the bigger screen, I found the size and weight of the Pro Max too much for me to handle comfortably and carry in my purse or pocket. I'm back to the 15 Pro and love it. More than enough screen size for me and it's a delight to hold and use. The slightly reduced size and weight this year is really noticeable.

No regrets for me. I only buy Pro Max models. Significantly lighter than my 12 Pro Max. The wind almost blew it out my hand. Most of the weight comes from the top because of the camera bump.

Had mine since launch day and the phone is flawless for me. Can't think of anything to complain about. Great battery life. perfect screen size. amazing photos.

Loving my iPhone 15 Pro Max, but I can definitely feel the "weight" of the decision in my hand! It's like a mini dumbbell
too far lol. it's not heavy at all. if you think it's heavy then you'd probably not be able to lift a 12, 13, or 14 pro max.

It's not too heavy to lift, but it doesn't mean I want to carry it. I don't think an 8lb tent is too heavy to carry when I backpack, but I carry a 2lb tent because it's more comfortable. Same goes for phones, the lighter the better.

I've never liked the weight of my 13 Pro, even though I'm used to it.

Just do this and save yourself the hassle, in fact, I’m gonna start making cases with a little loop to tie balloons to for people who don’t like the weight of a phone. IMG_7983.jpeg

I want to Apple Store to pickup the regular size 15Pro but after seeing how nice the pro max is I decided to try it out. I have about a week left to decide if I continue with it or go back to 15 Pro.

I do love it, the screen is big, the keyboard is a joy with two thumbs and the battery life is amazing really. It’s just a better device to work on.

On the downside, it’s bloody heavy, I can feel the pinky fatigue which is not something I ever thought I’d say haha. It’s very hard to operate or hold with one hand only and I do have big hands. It also doesn’t fit very well in the back pocket of a standard jeans.

I think I’ll try the pro for two weeks next and decide which one to keep.
I love it, because of how light it is compared to the previous Pro Max's. If you think the 15 Pro Max is heavy, go hold a 14 Pro Max.

I came from a 14 Pro and love the 15 Pro Max. When I compared my 14 Pro to my 15 Pro Max for two weeks I experienced none of the negatives you describe like weight, fatigue, hard to hold. However I was compering 15PM to 14P not 15P, and I do use AirPods for long phone conversations. But I do have XL hands, and the larger everything just works better for me. To me the Titanium 15 PM feels about like the 14P even though the 15 PM is larger and a bit heavier.

Another plus of the 15 PM is that I find it big enough to comfortably read books on, which was not the case with any of my previous (all regular size) phones. I sent back the iPad Mini I was testing. I consider iPhones as tools rather than as cutesy consumer devices, but I specifically like the 15 PM more than I have any other phone.

Now Apple just needs to make the 16 PM synch with the Apple Pencil 2. Please please please. The phone does not need to hold or charge the AP2, I have a pencil case for that.

I find the iPhone 15 Pro Max a bit too small. Was thinking I should have waited for the iPhone 16 Pro Max which is rumored to be bigger.

But I will keep it in any case. I will upgrade in 4 years again.

Same here. I have both the 15PM and the 15Pro and am trying to decide between the two. So far I am leaning towards the PM mostly because I am enjoying the larger screen - I am upgrading from an iPhone X. I have an iPad Air but my iPhone has always been my go to device so I am thinking that the PM would be a good compromise. Just when I think I’ve decided and am going to stick with the PM, I pick up the 15 Pro and realize just how much I love how compact and comfortable it is and *sigh* here I go again. I have one more week before the exchange period expires to figure it out. My eyes say PM but my gut says Pro.

I got the 15 Pro Max. I had the 12 Pro for three years. It was really beginning to slow down, and the battery was not doing well. It's my first time with a Max-size device. I really wasn't sure it was a good idea. But actually, over the 2 weeks or so that I've been using it, I bloody love it! Admittedly, I need to do a deep dive yet on using the camera. But so far, ZERO complaints. Photos are gorgeous.

I set the battery to charge only to 80%, and on the daily I am typically putting phone on charge at night with approximately 30% remaining on the dial (can vary, but a full day without charge on normal use is about this).

The one surprise maybe, as someone moving from a 12 Pro, is that Dynamic Island is not as impressive as I thought it might be. I might need to concrete on using it a bit more.

Other than that, it's a very impressive phone. It's the little things, right? Siri for example is significantly better on it.

It's a beautiful device, but I can honestly say I finally got this mess straight with ATT today, and went to Apple to pick up a regular pro, and am so glad I did. I don't think I'll ever be adventurous enough to attempt a max sized phone again. lol

Good luck with AT&T. I'm on AT&T but I only get my phones via apple store. If possible...return to AT&T then just order via apple store.

This is exactly what I did today. I've been dealing with the Office of the President because not a single person over the course of 10 days could make the exchange happen, even though I was within my exchange window. It's been the most absurd thing I've ever dealt with.

The guy called me today and told me he was finally able to free up my line for upgrade, and I told him I was going to Apple to buy through instead of waiting for an exchange. I just transferred everything, erased the max, and I'm about to box it up for return.

I found the 15 Pro Max surprisingly manageable after trying earlier Max models and returning them because they were just not easy to handle. The weight reduction, and where Apple reduced it, really makes a difference and I'm really pleased with it (other than it is not as easy to put into a pocket). Using a Popsocket helps, too!

You were smart enough to get both and try them at the same time haha. I wish the difference what greater, had Apple allowed to reduce the UI zoom a bit more like in the Mac that would have been no brainer but they didn’t. So what you get basically is a bigger view.

I did reduce the text size one tick down and that’s kinda nice because I can get more in the screen while still being big enough to read properly.

However as I type this laying on my back I struggle with how to hold it comfortably without straining my hands. It’s like this phone is a love hate relationship.

I’ll probably head over Apple Store on the weekend to hold the Pro again and see what’s what.

after 2 days of using the pro max 15, im loving the bigger screen and size. feels lighter when im putting it in my pocket. but the texting part i still have to use two hands instead of one. plus my hands arent that big so its kind still hard to swipe from app to app. but other than that its a excellent phone.

Exactly...most definitely l love/hate relationship. I don't know if getting both was all that smart, really...had I just ordered one of them I'd probably have just stuck with it because of the back order situation...doesn't help that I'm also terrible at making these kinds of decisions! lol

Yes - pro I wish was a tad larger :) can’t be perfect !

I had actually purchased a 15 Pro this year after having a 14 PM last year. Thought I wanted a smaller phone this go round. The Pro is a very nice phone but I kept feeling like I was missing something so last week I picked up a Pro Max. I'm acutally excited about this phone in a way that I wasn't with the Pro. I've grown used to the larger phone I guess. I know in the future I will not be going for the launch phone as I have every year. I will wait and check it out in person and really give it some thought before purchasing and returning or having buyers remorse after trading my current phone away.

I would go return it into an AT&T store if possible.
