I have been pleasantly surprised by the 15 Pro Max. I never held a 14 Pro Max so I'll assume all of the complaints are valid, but honestly the 15 Pro Max doesn't feel THAT much larger than my old 14 Pro but with noticeably more screen space and insane battery. The 15 PM has effectively replaced my use of the iPad mini and in my normal daily routine my iPhone 14 Pro would end the day at 60% battery or less whereas the PM usually is around 80% - it's been so good that I've enabled the "limit to 80% charge" for now.

The phone is larger, but I actually find that I can still mostly use it one-handed for scrolling and casual use. I already used two hands to text on the 14 Pro.

Dropped off my car at a mechanic for tire replacement and waited out in a coffee shop doing remote work until pickup call.
Spent 5 hours hotspotting with 14PM at 89% battery health. Right now at 11 pm sits at 6.5hrs of screen time and 12 percent charge.

Could not use coffee shops free wifi for security reasons. This single day proves that pro max is the ideal tool to get the job done in terms of the battery - couldn’t have done with regular pro.

Good luck with AT&T. I'm on AT&T but I only get my phones via apple store. If possible...return to AT&T then just order via apple store.
This is exactly what I did today. I've been dealing with the Office of the President because not a single person over the course of 10 days could make the exchange happen, even though I was within my exchange window. It's been the most absurd thing I've ever dealt with.

The guy called me today and told me he was finally able to free up my line for upgrade, and I told him I was going to Apple to buy through instead of waiting for an exchange. I just transferred everything, erased the max, and I'm about to box it up for return.
Good! It’s better to get the phone factory unlocked by Apple through either Apple’s online store or through their retail store & then you can go through something like a “Bring Your Own Phone” prepaid cellular plan with either them, Verizon, T-Mobile or through a MVNO.

That way, you’ll pay cheaper prices for unlimited service & won’t have to be completely at the carrier’s mercy through their 24 or 36 month contracts (&/or get locked into their lengthy, expensive data plans) & jump through hoops to get your phones unlocked.

Get yourself a very reliable VPN, preferably that’s paid. And set your location to anywhere else (you can also go outside of this country if you like).

I have been using the PM for a week and have a Plus arriving tomorrow. The PM is definitely lighter due to the titanium but I still am not thrilled with the weight. I care a lot about cameras but the Plus got the main upgrades I wanted. I am not one bit bothered by 60Hz aside from my feeling that it’s almost criminal that Apple held back.

Anyway. I just want to see it the lighter Plus will win me over or if I’ll stay PM. I used to always want the latest greatest but I’m getting less bothered.

It’s so funny. I’ve always had a standard sized pro phone or non max version. I jumped to the max this year.

Now, no one will believe this… but I haven’t even noticed the difference. Really.

When I went from an 11” iPad to a 12.9, I was in shock of the size and weight. For months. Still now I pick up the 11 and innediatly feel the difference.

But I use my wife’s 15Pro and I don’t seem to notice much. Sure I can TELL. But I don’t NOTICE it like I thought I would. It’s been odd.

Note I have a Caudabe sheath - thin minimalist case that may help and my wife’s case is a bit larger.

Ordered the 15PM but canceled it after going to the store and holding it in hand. I’ve finally reached the point where I’m fully settled on the pro (non-max). I don’t want to carry a phablet around daily.

I think the market goes to the large size side. I have the pixel 6 for app development that has 6.3” screen and I think that the perfect size. It big enough to fix a nice battery and small enough to carry. If Apple really switches to 6.3” I think we’ll get the best of two worlds.

So yeah the pro is too small and the max is too big basically.

I think we can summarize this all very nicely..

We all really enjoy change. So if you had a Max, blow your mind with a lighter phone. If you have a non-Max, blind yourself with all those extra pixels. And if you're really bored -- go back to a Mini or and SE for a month.

Rinse. Repeat. 🙃

Exactly...most definitely l love/hate relationship. I don't know if getting both was all that smart, really...had I just ordered one of them I'd probably have just stuck with it because of the back order situation...doesn't help that I'm also terrible at making these kinds of decisions! lol
I hear you!

I picked up the blue PM last night and the procrastination is already driving me mad! Not just for the size but also the colour, I wanted to get the PM in natural too but there were none available. The blue is a stunner.

Youll like the plus. Feather light.

I've ordered a PM but never used or seen one in the wild. I'm anxious about it, but my reasoning is: I want a longer-lasting battery and bigger screen, and mostly work from home. If I was commuting daily or otherwise needing to carry it out of the house for long periods, I reckon I'd go for the smaller one, but I'm betting the upsides for me are greater than the down.

went down to the pro on my iPhone 14 upgrade cycle and it was rough, I couldn't get used to the screen sized after being on max sized displays. My iPhone 15 pm has been a joy to use, I love how light it is, it is just a tad long so when im running around the city im not super confident using it with one hand AND no case. with a case on, its fine bc there's extra room to grip... if I had the 15 pro id keep it completely caseless. But the switch back to a pro max actually made my iPad mini super irrelevant

I want to Apple Store to pickup the regular size 15Pro but after seeing how nice the pro max is I decided to try it out. I have about a week left to decide if I continue with it or go back to 15 Pro.

I do love it, the screen is big, the keyboard is a joy with two thumbs and the battery life is amazing really. It’s just a better device to work on.

On the downside, it’s bloody heavy, I can feel the pinky fatigue which is not something I ever thought I’d say haha. It’s very hard to operate or hold with one hand only and I do have big hands. It also doesn’t fit very well in the back pocket of a standard jeans.

I think I’ll try the pro for two weeks next and decide which one to keep.
It's a phablet, not really a handy phone that fits in a back pocket or with one hand while you hold something else on the other hand.

If the plus had the always on display I would have goine with one, do not care about 120hz as a whole.

No reason why the plus cannot so always on display other than them deliberately holding the feature back. Clever Apple!
True. Apple being Apple, they knew they had to differentiate somewhere to push people to the premium model. I wonder, once we get up to $1,000+ models, how much difference does $200 make at that point? Every feature the PM has could be in the Plus. So anything held back is purely to differentiate and try to justify a $200 savings. At this point, I would rather see them throw all they can into a Pro Mini, Pro Middle, Pro Max, and one 'affordable' SE and call it a day. Of course that is merely my own personal wish and I am sure others would not agree.

13PM to 15PM and despite being a two-year upgrade, it feels much more significant. Natural titanium is just perfect for me, subtle and industrial.

I would like to see this as well. I know for me. I’m in the pro max, because of screen size first. As they widened the gap between the non pro phones, as well as between the pro and pro max versions, it solidified the likelihood I will always be in a max phone or whatever their flagship phone is.

Had they not, I think I’d probably have been fine with the smaller pro size phones. At least until whatever the rumored ultra is, if it ever comes to fruition.

Returned my 15 Pro Max. Aside from the heaviness and chunkiness, I found the 5x zoom too zoomed in. I much prefer 3x zoom and the lighter weight of the 15 Pro. Unfortunately the 15 Pro battery is mediocre to say the least. If I’m going big, I’d do the 15 Plus for the insane battery life and lighter weight.

I had a 14 pro for an year, and for the last 3 months I could only think - why didn't I go for the Pro max. I have large hands, and while the pro was a great package for the size, I really wanted a large screen..
I just bought the 15 Pro max a few days ago, and I was shocked that it was almost same weight as my 14 pro (diff felt less with case) and I loved the weight distribution of it. If the 15 Plus had 120hz LTPO display, I would've just gone for it, but after using 120Hz for so long I just cant stand 60hz screens now.

I wonder how many are not using cases and if this makes a difference in weight?
I think it makes a difference. I"m using the FineWoven case on my 15 Pro. When I switched to the leather Bellroy case the phone felt heavier and bulkier in my hand. It's the reason I went back to the FineWoven case and love it.
