I fill whatever storage I have. I went with 256GB which is double what I have on my iPad Air 2. However I know I will fill it up and next time I'll probably go for 512 GB.

Do you fill the storage up with things you don't need? I mean how can you consume so much of content? It's huge storage. I'm perplexed to say the least.

I can't really say what I have on my iPad Air 2. I will have a look but off head I have a lot of comics, a couple of star Trek movies in HD and a few TV episodes in HD, a few downloads from Netflix and amazon prime, about 100 + apps. I don't even have any music or my kindle library collection stored on there. I think I have about 15GB left but occasionally I will try and download a TV show or movie and it will tell me there is insufficient space and I have to delete something. I guess I'm just not very good at using space efficiently. My iPad is wifi only and so I like having a lot of content stored on for when I am out of range of wifi or can't be bothered to thether to my iPhone.

I'm probably more excited about getting more storage on new my iPad Pro than the new features although I know I will find them worth it. It was the same with my iPad Air 2. I upgraded from a 32GB iPad Air 1 and was mostly excited to be going to 128GB. I was a bit skeptical about the other features but once using it I was blown away by the laminated screen and extra gig of ram which.

I use wifi only model as well but you can just delete the videos after watching them right? I feel like it's a lot of wasted money for being lazy about memory management. I used to have a 32GB iPad 4 earlier which I never manage to fill up but recently got the 128GB version of the new iPad 2017 and I'm sure I'll not be able to fill it up in the next few years that I'm gonna keep it for. I stream most things and only store when I know I will be travelling and won't have access to internet which is very rare for me unless I'm going somewhere really off grid.

Yes I am lazy but I do commute 2 hours each way everyday and I like to have a choice in what I watch, hence why I like to keep a range of stuff on my devices. I do delete things after I've watched them. I've accumulated so much junk now that my iCloud backups couldn't be accommodated for an iPad/ iPhone with less than 128 GB of storage.

Fair enough. For a 2 hours commute I generally stick to listening to music. But I guess it all depends on preference.

Those who have loads of movies and TV shows on their devices, where's the best place to buy from? I always think iTunes is expensive. I have Netflix. Can I download stuff from there and watch when out and about, like without any wifi?

There are a limited set of TV shows and Movies you can download for offline use from Netflix. When you open the app and click on the menu button, you will see a "my downloads" selection. If you select that, there's a button for "find something to download" and I believe it will give you a filtered list of what's available to temporarily download to your device.

Some people like to keep their content on the device, for example i have TV shows on my iPad and a few movies, currently it takes up nearly all of my 128GB storage, when i get the iPad Pro 2 i will probably pick up the 512GB model so i can store more TV shows.

Yes Netflix lets you download.

Can you not just stream them rather than storing? I guess it depends on your lifestyle. If you use your iPad at locations without any internet connection then that makes sense. It turns out that I'm hardly out of connection ever. On those odd occasions when I have travelled away from any sort of internet connection, I've used my iPhone to act as a hotspot.

I could we do have Fiber internet at home but on the odd occasion that there are internet problems i wouldn't be able to watch the shows or movies that i've brought.

If it's only occasional occurrence then I won't feel spending for that big of storage is justified but if it works for you, it's all good I suppose.

There is that, but keeping favourite TV shows and movies on the iPad eliminates any problems that could occur including when travelling, also with IOS 11 getting more productive on the iPad Pro it's likely that i will be editing and using more documents on the iPad via iCloud Drive.

Personally, I'd rather spend more for extra storage than have to constantly manage content on my devices. For a device I use as often as the iPad (~85% of personal computing), it's one of the splurges that I really benefit from and I'm more than willing to forgo a couple of movies and dinners out to pay for the storage upgrade.

Just bought a 256 GB iPad Pro right before the Apple Store here closes for the day! Stocks just came in for the 256 GB models and I know I had to move fast before it is too late but there were internet problems at home just now.

No matter how I see it, I don't think I can ever justify the 512 GB for my use case. Even if I need 5 GB per app on average, it would be 50 apps, way more than I will ever use lol.

Helps that I have been using just a 256 GB SSD for my main computer, I think I will have no problems with this too.

In the ultra rare event that I find out that I need the 512 GB within the 14 days, I can easily swap up and top up given that the system is such that top ups are easier than refunds and the 512 GB models are more well stocked here for some reason (maybe us Singaporeans are more budget conscious?)

The 300 SGD I just saved can go towards proper storage stuff (e.g. bigger SD card for the DP-X1A and GnarBox) and AC+. In short, I am going for horses to courses strategy here.

I went with 12.9/secondGen/512Gb

Have a ******** of raw photos and 4K videos to manage and do preliminary edit. Also a bunch of ALAC music.

So, it plays quite nicely with me.
