iPad Pro Who will try a May 22nd pull up Day 1 Purchase. ? At the Apple Store ?

So my delivery is June 25 -July2 but I had to do the trade in option budget and time. Plus not dealing with Craigslist weirdos. And Apple offered $55 cash money more than I was gonna ask for anyways.
With that being said. It’s been published May 22nd will be or could be the day Apple stores have stock. So is anyone here gonna try and buy on Day 1 at the Apple store ? I would have but couldn’t pass up $455 off and 0% financing. Thanks AppleCard.

In 2018 I was 3rd in-line for the 11” iPad Pro. Gonna miss that line up hype.

I will probably try to get one locally on release day. The Apple Store isn’t far from me. If I am not able to get it for a while, it’s no big deal. My 2018 iPP 11 is doing fine, although I did get a new ASK for it as I’ve worn a small hole in the fabric over the space bar.

Just checked and May 22 is a Saturday and unless the weather is awful, I’ll be out of town until late afternoon, but I’m thinking if I reserve one for pickup, I can either get it that afternoon/evening or Sunday if it’s in stock.

Apple Stores in my area aren't open for walk-ups, but they are offering pick-up for orders placed online (e.g. AirTags 4-packs are sold out online, but available for in-store pickup). My guess is that Apple might open up in-store pickup orders, but not necessarily on May 21.

The WiFi+Cellular models were gone quickly. Perhaps at this level, most consider the extra $200 a negligible difference so they just go all out.

This is the first launch I've seen that doesn't allow preordering for in-store pickup. Makes me think they aren't allocating any stock to stores for Day 1.

I do hope I'm wrong though. As if I am I'll swap over to in store pick up since it will save me quite a lot in taxes (due to being able to pick it up in a sales tax free state).

I don’t know about that. Given that the a data line is attached to it, then on top of that… it has increased by $70. I believe Apple manufacture way more wifi models compared to cellular ones…. It might appear cellular goes quickly, but that’s only given the amount produced at the time.

I expect Apple does manufacture more wifi-only than cellular. That said, I don't think they're manufacturing tons of 2TB either. Both cellular and wifi-only 1TB sold out pretty quickly. Entry-level to 16GB RAM, I guess.

Just a heads up, I just went to my apple store to pick up air tag cases and the store is NOT open for walk in customers. You MUST make a appointment to make a purchase. Hell I even had to make a appointment just to pick up the cases I ordered. They were turning people away if they didnt have one.

I think a lot of people went with cellular because of the cash back deal they were running, especially with Tmobile where you get a $200 Visa card.

Apple usually has separate stock allocated for their retail stores vs online. I expect part of the reason Apple Store online preorders have slipped to July is so they can have stock in-store as well as fulfill orders from Best Buy, Amazon, etc.

I was not able to order my Mini 5 for pickup until the day of. I don’t remember if I ordered my 2018 iPP 11 for pickup or just walked in and got it.

When is your order going to be shipped? But supposedly 21st is when the iPad Pro will be available in stores... that 1TB model will be highly sought after. I've gotta 1TB cellular model on order... to be arrived on the 21st. If you looking for a cellular model...you could try other retailers other than Apple, might have better luck.

I work for Bestbuy and I can tell you we will only get 1 or 2 if that store is lucky. BestBuy has been keeping "Major" launches to online only to avoid long lines and distributing low amounts of products.

I called and dude said my orders should ship early to arrive on launch day the 21st. I hope he is right. Both of my orders still show 21st-28th. I ordered the morning of preorder.
