Not to be a Debbie downer but that is supposed to be the bezel off a 2500 movement planet ocean but it is not legit IMO from the picture given. The pip placement is way off. (No offense intended to whoever made this if they were upfront about using replica parts)

Its an aftermarket bezel. An homage to the PO not an exact replica from what I remember. Modding is not intended to copy 100% the watches it takes cues from but to mix some of those parts together to make something unique and usually affordable. No offence taken as I didn't want a replica.

I respect that. Just not wanting anyone to be shelling out big bucks for it thinking it was original parts and therefore demanded top dollar pricing. It can be difficult for people to spot replicas when purchasing from a grey market dealer, let alone a modded watch.

I'm considering a Hamilton Khaki Field as a travel/adventure watch, when I don't want to beat up my B&M.

Anyone have any experience with the Hamiltons, they seem to be advertised as rugged but are they? I am concerned about swimming with them as they don't seem to have screw down crowns. Any feedback on them would be greatly appreciated!

The crown came off the stem on my Hamilton Khaki Field. It was past warranty so I never got it fixed. It was only a $300 watch, though. If I can find someone local that can do it on the cheap, I'll get it fixed.

Note that I had a Hamilton chrono that was solid (sold it) and I still have a Hamilton Jazzmaster Slim.

If you want a rugged dive watch, I'd say get an Omega Seamaster 300M. Mine has some decent wear on it and is still going strong. If you want to go cheaper, maybe a Seiko Monster. The new ones have hacking seconds.

Stopped by a local watch shop in Scottsdale and they were clearing out their stock on some Tissot models, I had been looking for a blue-dial watch recently so I picked this one up for a good deal at $375, took a picture of it with my also newly acquired Pelikan M405 fountain pen, a nice pair indeed!

Never had a hamilton but I absolutely LOVE the hamilton khaki titanium.

You could go with the above posters advice of a seamaster pro 300m, those are always a safe option. The design is objective though. Not a big fan of the SMP.

Seamaster 300M is a great option, but a too expensive to have as a beater, especially when traveling to countries where theft is a real possibility, especially if they see that recognizable watch on your wrist.

Most non fancy divers (Seiko, etc) would work on a beach, but look out of place at a nice dinner under a sports coat. Again a Seamaster or a Submariner would fit this bill, but too expensive for what I'm looking for.

I might give the hamilton a try for $350 bucks and cross my fingers that it holds up to some shallow submersion (swimming, hot tub, etc.)

I believe the Hamilton titanium could be had for a thousand. As you can see, I'm pushing for the Hamilton haha.

The seamaster quartz can be bought roughly for about 900. I honestly don't think a SMP would be TOO noticeable but that's my opinion.

You can always buy a monster but those look a bit off with dressy attires.

Ive been interested in buying a panerai .. looking at this model

Panerai Luminor Marina Automatic 44mm Steel Watch #PAM 104

anyone have one? How do you like it ? Ive only been able to find them used online for like 5.5k .. I don't really trust buying used watches since counterfeits are so good these days. Anyone know the retail price of one of these ?

I forget if the 104 had a display caseback but if it does, please post a photo of it.

Chrono24 is a reputable site with lots of reputable dealers though.
