In a coffee shop.
haha. it's still just a battery wall clock.

now the real version (Reine de Naples) ... that's definitely a masterpiece.

But it still looks rather good, doesn't it? Battery wall clocks vary in appearance; it's better to have something a somewhat more attractive than the standard run-of-the-mill battery operated wall clock.

However, I imagine that the 'real version' must be spectacular, in appearance, elegance, finish, craftsmanship, and time-keeping precision.

It looks great on a lady.
I gave it to mine for her birthday (not the one pictures here).

Hi my name is Ken and I am an addict.

I am seriously addicted to shiny things in jewellers glass cabinets!

Here is my daily wearer. Portuguese Chrono. Love the simplicity and elegance.

Who's got a nice watch?

Now that's a nice watch! I too am like a magpie when it comes to watches. I don't have your budget unfortunately but it doesn't stop me splashing out on some nice (cheap) pieces when I get the opportunity.

I'm toying with getting one of these in the next month or so.

It's a Christopher Ward Malvern C5 MKII. British company, Swiss made.

Got this Colt GMT for my graduation in 2003. It still is the only one I wear regularly.

Oh man. Thats an absolute gem. Thats the dress watch I want when I have some extra moolah to burn, hopefully in the near future.

Been lusting after that for a few months now.

Thank you kindly. It was my 40th birthday present from my wife. Wanted one for a long time. It is just so understated and elegant. Stealth wealth... no one pays it attention unless they know watches. So no unwanted attention from Rolex poachers...

I hope you get one soon.

Nuts! Betcha my Rolex Sea Dweller will hold it's value (perhaps even go up in value) better than any iphone4. Actually the value of almost all vintage Rolex Submariners went up over the years.

Never ever get rid of it. I regret the day I sold mine. This is an absolute classic. Beautiful Rolex.

This is an Officine Panerai. Looks like a 1950 with a sandwich dial.

Not sure what the definition of "nice" is exactly

From the Ask Men website:

A mechanical
Manufacture movement
From a brand with undisputed pedigree
With preferably continued involvement of the founding family
A vintage
With a steel case
Under 40mm in diameter

Meh...you can throw the last 2 out, since there are Patek Phillippe (as high end as they get) make watches with the cases made of white gold. And a lot of the high end watch maker having been marching to the "manhole" (45mm+) sized trend in recent years.

My $50 Seiko 5 counts as a nice watch.:D:D:D It keeps accurate time for an automatic though. I can self regulate it within 2 seconds a week:eek:

I bought the C3 Malvern Chrono MKII with the stainless steel bracelet. It's a well made watch but the 39mm case was just too small for me so I sent it back. If it came in a 42mm I'd have one.

I'm a big lad but I've got quite thin wrists so the 39mm size is perfect for me. I don't like to go much over 40mm usually.

I really like the ChrWard watches. I like where they are going. Nice choice.

Love this one, simple and elegant. I don't care for the large bezel watches as much. Though the entire collection is nice.

Thanks! Here's some more for you. It's what I've been wearing for the last week - people comment on this watch more than any other I've had - it's really comfortable because the band is so well designed and slim.
