Retuning mine tomorrow and getting another iPad Pro 11”. I had the previous generation iPad Pro and just sold it for $650 on market place. Looking back, I wish I’d have kept it. It’s just too small for my eyesight and I really dislike the touch pad on the side. The screen is a real let down compared to the Pro and Apple blew it by removing the bookmark icon on the toolbar.

Oh?
Do tell - what happened?

Oh no nothing exciting, I didn’t mean for that to sound so enigmatic

Honestly I just found my eyes strained a bit with the tiny text size on the screen, when I used my 9.7 inch iPad after using the mini it seemed so nice and spacious and I thought well why am I down £480 for this, yaknow. So I’m sticking with my iPad 5th gen for now…

I personally 100% agree with this. My 11" iPad Pro is far superior to the iPad Mini 6 for just about everything, more spacious, more comfortable to use and read, better for movies, better sound, face ID, I can go on.
However, I am also keeping the iPad Mini 6 as I have some specific usage cases where I need/want the smaller and more portable size in the field.

I said another post, but I really can’t see it due to my eyesight. So I’m planning on keeping the mini six because it is a great device for my needs.
I haven’t got good eyesight and u think that’s why I can’t see it either.

Completely agree with this. I am somewhat of a mini affectionate having owned all genrations. However my 11 inch pro is a much better device and if I could only have one I’d pick the pro every time.

I also agree with this...the mini although I wanted it to be great, is cramped, I think its the besels? And small text..

Just got home from Best Buy with my new IPP 11” after returning my mini. I so wanted to like the Mini but as others said it felt a little too cramped and that stupid Touch ID on the side plus Jelly gate was the final straw. The 256GB IPP cost me exactly $200 more and for that I feel I’m getting much, much more in terms of value.

so do we think the Jelly cant be fixed by software?

no only concerned with those who actually have it.. and just wonder what percent of minis is this occurring on??
Apple said it’s not an issue and it’s normal so seems unlikely there will be a fix.

I must admit that I am now considering returning my mini 6. I have to make it clear that this isn't for "jelly", but I'm just having 2nd thoughts about how I would use it. I have a 12.9 2021 iPad Pro which is better in every way. I also have a 13 Pro Max, which as far as screen quality and UI is better in every way, and with me all the time. The mini 6 just feels cramped, tiny icons, tiny text, worse screen. Needs much iOS 15 refinement for the smaller screen. I had it next to me yesterday evening, and found myself grabbing the phone for most things, and the 12.9 for watching movies. Perhaps I'll return and revisit further down the line.

I was like that when the iPhone X came out. I went from an 8 Plus to the X and was like "Dammit, old age, I can't read this tiny wee writing" ?. I got rid of it as soon as Apple released the Max sizes.

It's not the bezels. The display's just small.

The mini 6's display is around 32 sq. in. Meanwhile, the iPad Pro 11's display is around 57 sq in. That's almost double the display area of the mini.

The iPhone GUI is optimized for the smaller displays but the iPad GUI is more optimized for ~10" or larger.

After a week of use, I might me returning my Ipad mini 6 today. The jelly scrolling doesn't bother me. I'm returning it most likely because the screen seems blurrier and I miss the promotion tech. I had it in my 2017 ipad pro 10.5 and in my iphone 13 pro max now.

Everything in the ipad mini 6 feels 'cramped'. Certain elements of certain sites and apps are transposed over the corners and just sit up top of other stuff.

The battery life is meh.

I just miss the 10.5 pro I think. I'll be getting the 2021 11" IPP.

ipad mini 6 has portability though but that's it over my last ipad.

A great summary of the situation for anyone who has an iPad Pro (or is considering one).

The Mini line, which I personally love and have very specific uses for, should really only be considered if that form factor and super portability are key key needed features.

iPad Pro's blow them away on everything else.
(Screens in particular)

....

Sounds like the refurb store might be a vibrant place in somewhat short order...
