Nope I heard bad things and stayed away, I was a Sony user until I made the switch. Whilst their team were good, everything had to be posted in, inspected, letter sent (not emailed, posted) with any costs plus their service charge, which had to be then replied to before they would fix the machine. Again this had to be posted
You were a classy Android user for buying Sony. Respect.

It's because
- Europe as a continent full of countries and densely populated is completely different from the US,which makes the telco market completely different.
- the EU has a great history of precise yet fair market regulation for telco.

Ouch, not EU. But I believe you've kept the legislation. Also, EU: £7.11 for two SIM cards, unlimited calls, 60GB data, major operator originating from France.
Yep smaller land mass. Less cell sites.

Last year's Apple Watch was 429EUR, this year's watch is 499EUR. By what measure is that not an increase in price?
By the same measure that last last year's Euro was worth 20% more than this year's Euro. Frankly, given the reduction in the value of the Euro, 429-499 is a bargain.

One year ago today, the exchange rate was 1EUR = 1.16 USD
Today that rate is 1 EUR = .98USD

Last year's Apple watch of 429 EUR x 1.16= 497.64 USD
This year's Apple watch of 499 EUR x .98 = 489.02 USD

You got a discount pal! J/K. I get where you are coming from, and this is a perfect example of why having a strong currency is bad for companies in the export business, whereas having a weak currency helps them.

Lol and I’m supposed to believe this because you put a photo of a van with Samsung on here ? 🤣🤣🤣👍🏼 and some Spiels?
Only thing I believe is my own and friends experiences with Samsung mobile device after sales services which is a big fat zero out of ten.
I never trust an “international “ organization that discriminates against its users based on location and regions and such. You know what I mean don’t you ? If an American S22U customer has issues then Samsung Deutschland or any other country will deny warranty work period. In any case, Samsung is done for after their recent battery debacle. Karma sucks I suppose 😂👍🏼

They posted a screenshot from the Samsung site and spoke about a personal experience. What more do you want? A video of the entire thing with a Morgan Freeman narration?

Take a breather, mate. Apple isn’t going to reward your blind loyalty with a free iPhone. They will take your money, the same as any other company. I’ll never understand why some will go to the ends of the earth to defend any company, when that same company barely knows they exist.

What's this talk of a mandatory 3 year warranty in Europe? I paid extra for AppleCare+ on my watch in the UK, only to go in in the store 2 weeks ago after less than 3 years, to find it's expired and it's only 3 years on computers, AC+ is only 2 years on a watch/phone, and I paid extra for that!!!

Either way, I'd have very likely bought a new phone this year, but with everyday living gone up, especially fuel, I can't justify a mildly jazzed up version of last years iPhone for more money unfortunately. So I get the exchange rate, but I'm gonna moan about cost of living and I'm also gonna moan about the price of iPhones, along with what a bunch of inept dumb c**ts our government are who just helped the £ sink even lower and that's after the previous version already made things worse with Brexit (so we've done worse relative to a lot of the rest of Europe during the post-covid economic recovery). 🤦‍♂️ I have every right to moan - I'm British. We have a long history of moaning and I don't intend to stop now. Unfortunately I'm not French so I can't set fire to stuff I don't like instead.

Tend to agree with the OP. You can't really blame a global manufacturer for inflation and currency fluctuation. It is not that the price increase is non-existent, it is rather not a price increase tied to apple making more profit or their products more expensive to make.

You really have deep trust issues, don’t you?

Maybe consumers should care more. iPhone is an imported product designed and assembled elsewhere. If I were to import a British car or German schnitzel, I wouldn’t complain to the manufacturer about pricing.

More fool you then if you don’t. What’s your problem with Europeans standing up against higher prices? You seem to have gone silent since the reaction to your OP has been mostly negative.

No “mate” you take a breather if you truly believe Samsung mobile devices have the same level of support globally as Apple. Didn’t think so.

I have been burnt utilizing Samsung support as have plenty of others.. if you think otherwise you my “friend “ are either smoking a pipe dream or a paid Samsung shill. Samsung after sales support comes a big fat zero against Apple’s in all areas.
No, I belive you had a **** experience with Samsung support. However, I didn’t and that’s all I’m saying. And thanks for calling me either delusional or a Samsung shill. I really don’t understand why it is so unacceptable that other brands can sometimes do something good too. And yes, I’m writing this from my iPhone but I assume your not going to believe that too.

Are you part of Samsungs paid internet brigade ? You know..the ones that tend to usually invade and flood Apple forums during this time of the year 👍🏼😂🤣 happens every year.
You live in a weird little bubble don’t you?

Maybe, just maybe, this is the time of year Macrumors doesn’t have to survive on the clicks of the absolute Apple fanboys and girls. You know, since people are interested in the new advancements of the iPhone.

Maybe that so called Samsung brigade are just regular people who voice their honest concerns and opinions.

But inside your bubble it works more like: “iF yOu’Re nOt 100% PrO aPpLe, YoU’rE pArT oF tHe PaId SaMsUnG bRiGaDe.”

Apple simply doesn’t get everything right. Just look at their MacBook Pro’s since 2011, every single model has had a part that would fail consistently.

2011 GPU’s, 2012 screencoating, 2016(?) keyboards and display cables.

And don’t get me wrong, when they announce a repair program for these problems, their service is great. But when there isn’t a repair program, it’s always the same response you’ll get from their employees “Wow, no I’ve never seen this problem before.”

But the worst part with these repairs is they’ll replace your broken part with another part that is designed in the exact same way: with the same probability of failure.

So stop sucking up to a company. It’s weird.

It will be a while before most places get a train the same speed as a plane, an average airliner goes between 460 and 575 mph where as an average train goes at top speed around 124mph but few do because of the number of stops they need to make.
But going by plane involves an hour or two of faffing about while doing 0 mph at either end, and usually a longer trip to the airport c.f. a train station, let along going door to door in a car. For journeys less than 300 miles or so, ground transport tends to have the time advantage unless you’re lucky with routes and schedules. I guess US vs. Europe partly comes down to distances and population density.
