I remember the HTC Evo very well! It was big and heavy! Great phone at the time except for the battery life. Didn't it have a built in kickstand?

It did. It was my first smart phone. I loved the kickstand though for watching videos.

I think it all comes down to justifying purchases in one's mind. That goes both ways if someone goes in hard on their keyboards whining about other OS's. From my eyes I see Android as the most loved OS of all time. That is if I include comments from everywhere, of course google gets a lot of love from forum goers as well. They have haters, but not NEAR what I have seen with Apple, and MS as well.

Only thing I dislike about Android is the inevitable 90% + market share it will probably get down the road. I see Apple Blackberry-ing in time and WindowsMO may not make a dent. I rather not have another 90% OS issue again, but history repeats yadda yadda, not the end of the world.

The whole One phone, one OS, one man quote, was up there on dumbest things I have ever heard. Say Android didn't exist. Then BB would be doing better, as well as WindowsMO and I think the variance would be nicer overall in some respects. That is just my thoughts though, I could be wrong of course.

i feel i belong here :D

To be fair, i personally like Androids, as much as i.devices.... and security.... to me anyway, none is better than the other, although most Apple users will like to tell u otherwise.

Proof in the pudding, if you JB iOS, 'hey look.... its no longer secure'

No need for further explanation as to why Apple takes care of security, and calls it secure..

I guess some people hate android, probably because they've only been an Apple user, long time user.... never wondered whats outside that big black box call Apple ....?

While the others just wanna hate it, because they need something to hate.

(That's just a hunch)

i wouldnt call it hate but...

i personally dislike chaos, disorganization, half-backed interoperability, but above all, teenage geek mentality shown in every part of googles business except ads.

to me, android feels like a mish mash chaos of code designed specifically to appease everyone which directly collides with my philosophy. in my opinion, that sort of premise, to appease everybody, is rotten from the start and can only result in mediocre products, best case scenario. this reflection is partly based on my windows days. since then, i appreciate exclusively in house interoperability and compatibility, which sadly leaves me with only apple and b&o, at least in consumer electronics.

in other words, i dont like chaos and disorganization, and since googles ideology and business reeks of chaos and disorganization, i have absolutely no respect for them.

it maybe has something to do with google being run by 30yo and apple by 50yo.

but more importantly, i dont think having strong feelings of love or hate towards jurist person is healthy for ones well-being. save those feeling for real people, they need it more, and you have only as much to give.

respect, on the other hand...

Why? Because you don't happen to agree with it?

Because is full of wrong claims.

"teenage geek mentality shown in every part of googles business except ads."?

Really?

"android feels like a mish mash chaos of code designed specifically to appease everyone "?

Really?

"it maybe has something to do with google being run by 30yo and apple by 50yo."

Really?

" and since googles ideology and business reeks of chaos and disorganization, i have absolutely no respect for them."?

Really?

(see, now there is nowhere for you to go to rebut my post, simply because you really didn't answer my question - I mean, what are you going to say? really really?")
Next time, answer your quoted material with why you think it is incorrect.

I further the discussion of the forum, simply by providing a different viewpoint. Otherwise, this entire forum is nothing but "Android rules and Apple drools" posts. I personally think that Android has come a long way since even just a few years ago. However, it's not the end all be all of mobile OS's as you and many other make it out to be.
I have a feeling the same people that brag about how Android has 80+% of the worldwide market share, are the exact same people that complain about Apple not being the best simply because they such an enormous amount of iDevices. Can't have it both ways.

Really? And what are my intentions?
I'm not hiding the fact that I don't much care for Google or Android. Much like no one in this subform hides the fact that they love Google and Android. Doesn't stop me from discussing the overall topic, which is why people hate on Android. Or, would you rather this be a one sided conversation, where you simply slag on Apple and their "fanboys" as much as possible, while everyone slaps you on the back and says "Good job, old chap!"?
