Come on if you can’t see why it’s mediocre then the fanboy runs deep. A slight spec bump, new processor, and some some great marketing videos justify over a grand for the same product. Just look at the price of the Xr. A pretty phone at 720p?! People will always buy and justify it somehow but this year I won’t. You can,as is your right but don’t act like the Xs is revolutionary in any way.
Get the note 9....

Sales don't really pick up until a few months later. I remember I saw only 5 iPhone X owners including my Brother the first two months. After six months, I saw the X everywhere including celebrities using it on TV.

The early adopters are getting the worst batches for it anyway. Bugs and rushed models. The early bird doesn't always catch the worm but a lemon. Some people just wait for Black Friday or whatever Slickdeals they can find.

I agree with Matthew Moniz. It's pretty much that maybe people are getting tired of upgrading their phone and spending so much for it. The market is saturated as is. Will it even change your habits on how to use them? Not really.

Last year, more people waited for the eXpensive model for the new design. Now people are waiting for the cheaper model with a similar design. In some ways, all mobile brands became McDonald's.

The smartphone fad is dying. It's getting to a point that I know more people still using an iPhone 6 than owning a X.

Wasnt that YouTuber caught shilling for Samsung?

He is hilarious. Get a note 9.

Maybe Apple have adequate supplies or maybe people are waiting on the iPhone Xr.

LG are also supplying screens for them this year so they can manufacture more.

All of the anslysts are predicting that the Xr is going to be the big seller.

It’s probably a combination of both these factors.

That's not correct at all - there are plenty of XS/Max models available, even for 21 September delivery. Have a look on the website for yourself and see.

I'm in the UK.
They must have had some more stock added then, because when I looked around 15 minutes after launch time, XS, XS Max and Series 4 were showing 2-3 weeks ships. Why would I want to lie about it?

This may be a strong indication of the coming death of Apple. Remember how was it last time when Jobs was gone? Apple was basically done.

Eh? I can still order one for delivery on the 21st (though if I want to use the iPhone upgrade program I have to wait).

I think it’ll be an XS for me (it’s bigger than I’d like but not that much bigger than my 6s but I really can’t go bigger) but if I buy it outright I think it’ll be when John Lewis has them. Basically, I’ll get one (and soon) but am undecided about how to buy.

If companies go 36 months, they best be prepared to support phones for that long whether if Android or iOS. iOS will get updates for that timeframe on new phones. However, some Android devices get very few updates. Also warranties should be adjusted globally to compensate for longer term ownership.

What I am asking for is just in general and is a mere wishlist. I know that this is unrealistic and some countries have 2 year warranties standard.

I agree they should offer an extended warranty but I very much doubt they will. Here in Europe we get 24 months but after 12 months faults need to be proven to have existed prior to purchasing. I have had iPhones replaced after 12 months but it’s a bit of a wrangle.

I think 36 month contracts are offered here because new smartphones sold pretty poorly last year. The iPhone X was the eighth best selling iPhone with pretty much every other model outselling it. The iPhone 7 being the most popular. Carriers and phone retailers are trying to get newer models to appeal and to do this they need to get the costs down. The phones cost so much money that the only way to get them down on £30-40 contracts is to offer them over 3 years. Like yourself I’d be concerned doing that as I’d be worried I’d face an expensive repair bill in year three!

I bet the reason the iPhones did not sell out so fast is that apple is better now-a-days at managing inventory then every before. They must be forecasting and doing Prediction Models to get a rough idea of how many devices to build and they are maybe adding a additional 10% more. So based on that it would seem they would have adequate supply so that more people can get a phone on launch day.

You’re right. The XS is available for launch day in some configurations right now - on Friday morning at 8:30, all configurations had slipped.

It's Simple, this is the S model. The XS is the same shell of a phone just different internals, why would that be hard to manufacture especially if the OG X is discontinued. Next year will be the year sales should be better. Also the 8 and 8Plus people are waiting for the XR. So Mistery Solved.

o_OView attachment 781871 Why this year iphone sales slower than last year, remember last year preorder so crowd and sold out in a few minutes even after a day buyers are delayed 3-4 weeks comapring now still available pickup 9/21 and 1-2 weeks ship, is it reasonable price too high or no one like new look or no money something ???

:apple:

They are **** ton more expensive! I mean 1k! In my care 1,350 total with tax. That's crazy.

My thoughts are that people who want the latest and greatest all went to the X. There aren't a ton of compelling reasons to upgrade from the X to the Xs, thus lower sales. You then have a good amount of people (majority) who don't want to spend $999 on a phone, they are likely waiting for the Xr.

Everybody waiting for xr
You might be right. Initially, when searching for an XS Max Gold 256GB and 512GB, I noticed on 9/14th late that day, every store location near my geography was SOLD OUT. Yesterday and today, slowly, Apple has added inventory. I can actually place an order NOW for a 512GB, but what I really want is the 256GB. That model is hard to get.The 64 and 512 versions are readily available. I do think, like you, and many here, the XR will be Apple's cash cow.
