Hopefully the update comes out soon this just started happening Monday to my 1TB/16GB Air that I got on launch day. It's getting close to unusable having to turn off wifi or shutdown and boot back up constantly. It didn't do any software updates or any other changes so not sure why it started all of a sudden. What is strange is I can still access my local nas and dropbox still works fine, but no email or web browsing. This morning it decided to only half work, getting extremely slow and sporadic speeds until I shutdown and rebooted. I thought that putting it to sleep and moving to another part of the house with a different mesh point access was what set it off but this morning it did it without moving the computer.

11.3 RC uses the same FW as beta 7 and 8, so no changes for WiFi. Hope it fixed all the issues as from beta 7 I have pretty stable wifi connection.

Hi,
just ask a friend about fw version on 11.3 as I'm on beta of 11.4. And it's - wl0: Apr 2 2021 00:48:12 version 18.52.1.2.7.8.116 FWID 01-9f7b4413. So the same version as on RC.

I downloaded OS 11.3 last night on my MBP M1. Big mistake. My wifi issues - which disappeared with OS11.2.3 - came back with the update. My computer can't see the wireless network, my VPN can't connect, and my wifi printer can't be found. After 30 years with Apple products, I'm about to give up.

Sad to read it :( No idea what they broke with M1, but surely they should fix it before putting the chip to every computer and tabled they are making.

I feel certain this is a software issue as it was getting better with each update, but 11.3 went backwards. I'm on the phone now with Apple support. I don't know they test their releases but I suspect the users have become the testers. I'd be happy to back to version 11.2.3 if I can do this

It's super wired as I had problems on 11.2.3 and on 11.3 (betas and rc) and now on 11.4 beta all issues gone.
Thanks for that info. I just got off the phone with Apple support. They had me do a "Soft Boot" and the issues (other than my printer connection) went away. I think the printer issue is that it's an older Brother Laser (2013) and doesn't have the proper driver for a wifi connection with the new OS. I may have to get a cord to hard wire it. But the Soft Boot got the Internet back and working without issue. I then restarted in normal mode and one-by-one plugged my peripherals in and they work (I only have two: an external monitor and a Logitech mouse with USB connection). IF I have further issues, I'll let you know.

I've begun to get the wifi issue where it shows its connected but won't send or receive anything. I assume this is the ongoing issue everyone has been having. I've just updated to 11.3 and it's still happening for me. I didn't used to have it, but recently upgraded router to a Wi-Fi 6 model which was fine for the first week. Only thing I can think I've changed is to switch on OFDMA and remove some old wifi networks from my link. It's driving me mad.

Hi all thanks for this helpful thread. I want to report that i have all the issues MBP M1 11.2

BUT ONLY at home with a Google Wifi setup. All the problems - drops SSID completely every 4-5 min, endless DNS lookups when it does work, etc.

AT WORK, with a ubiquiti setup - ZERO problems.

I"m in the process of downloading 11.4 beta and hoping it will fix the Google Wifi issue and not break the Ubiquiti side...

any thoughts about how this issue might relate to settings or chipsets differing between the two setups?

I use both systems at home Google Wifi & Ubiquiti (bands 2, 5 and 6) with a MBP M1 with no issues for the past five months.

Perhaps it's your main router at home that's causing the issues?

Next time one of you has the issue where it looks like you are connected but you have no internet, go to Network Preferences and click "Advanced." Next, change "Configure IPv6" from "Automatic" to "Link Local Only." Click okay, click apply, etc. --> Try again. Fixed?

This has started happening to me as well. Air M1 on 11.3.1. The macbook that both Ethernet and WiFi connections are down. 16 inch sitting next to it has no problem connecting to WiFi. Reboot solves the issue for a few hours.

I have this issue on and off depending on the software update. But can confirm it is back and a pain in the A** for sure..... Same issue as everyone else. 2.5 works great. when you change to 5 its in and out over and over. You might get a day or two with no issues then all of a sudden the issue is back. Need to either restart or turn your wifi on and off or switch to a different network. All other devices have been running flawless.... Its on all the apple boards but you get the same generic answers back..

It’s been so frustrating that I downgraded to a wifi 5 router. Archer c7. Works fine on there

Absolutely ridiculous that you had to do that... sorry. You would think internet connectivity would be there top item to correct on the M1 line. especially with the desktop release! I would imagine they are all about to have the same issue.

Having this same issue as well MacBook pro 8gb ram m1 ops studio connection dropping on fiber line ethernet and wifi. Yes I did switch one off before going to the other. Flushing DNS does not work. Adding two DNS's does not work. iPhone and MacBook air still keeps connection nothing drops.

I don't have an air but I remember having this same issue with the iPad air 2. It was good for a few months then started having the same type of wifi issues as you guys are experiencing with the MacBook Airs. It would show it was still connected to wifi but would not load anything unless I turned wifi off and back on or reboot. It would work for a while the happen again. The issue never got fixed. Just lived with it until the iPad pro 10.5 came out. Hope this gets resolved for you all.
