Just updated to beta 3 from beta 2. First time I was able to download OS update without any issues. Beta 3 brings a new wifi driver from 19 February (beta 2: driver form 3 February).

How does it compare to beta 2 in terms of stability? Any issues with dropout with large files or zoom calls? Nervous to update because beta 2 has worked so well

No change – still broken for me on Big Sur 11.3 Beta 3 (20E5196f). As with 11.2.3 (the current stable release), if I switch off OFDMA on my router it's much better but I still get issues.

M1 MacBook Pro
TP-Link Archer AX50 WiFi 6

For what it's worth, I seem to get far more issues when I'm not in the same room as the router (even though my office is 10m away through plasterboard walls).

Edit: I did the steps in @Dymond 's post (#102), and have not had a problem in several days with OFDMA switched on (it was constantly dropping before)... will update if it comes back but it seems like it might be fixed ?

FYI. So far with OS 11.2.3, I found that my MBP will find the internet and connect if I start up from Shut Down mode. If I start up from Sleep mode it will find the internet if it has only been "asleep" for a short while ( like an hour) but if I leave it in Sleep mode overnight, it will not find the internet once I start in the morning. Furthermore my ExpressVPN program will basically freeze and I have to force quit to get it off.

I still haven't tried the Beta 3. I am not as familiar as some with that process, so waiting for an official release of next update.

11.3 beta 3 has been pretty stable for internet connection for me. No more dropping out on zooms or large downloads

New beta, new wifi firmware: wl0: Mar 9 2021 10:27:05 version 18.50.40.4.7.8.115 FWID 01-53291461

The only issue I had with beta 3 is that, when I was downloading beta 4 in some point I started do slow down (all other connections were OK with full speed). When I switch to 2.4 and then to 5GHz again, firmware stared to download with full speed again.

I haven't had an issue for 5 days now and beta 4 doesn't seem to have caused any further problems. I think we might finally have a fix! In addition, my AirPods Pro switch between my MBP M1 and my iPhone 12 correctly now - it's been a while since that worked.

No problems with beta 4.

Beta 5 has the same "old" wifi firmware: wl0: Mar 9 2021 10:27:05 version 18.50.40.4.7.8.115 FWID 01-53291461 from beta 4.

Just created an account to say: thank you everyone!
I had exactly the same problem on my Mac M1 and it works finally with MacOS 11.3 Beta 6.
Using a Mac Air M1 from 2021 and an ASUS Router RT-AX86U (merlin 386.2)

Can anyone with a macbook m1 8 or 16gb ram check this error? Whenever I restart the Macbook and immediately go to system report, under wi-fi in the Supported Channel, many are missing (only from 1 to 13, 149, 153, 157 and 161). Wait 3 minutes and then reopen the system report I'll see all channels. Is this behavior normal or only on my machine? It only happens when I restart the macbook. Thanks

Can I ask, is it a 16gb version or 8gb version? Macbook pro or Macbook air ? After asking some of my friends seems like only the 16gb are affected. Thank you very much.

Im starting to have some issues with zoom again on beta 5. I keep getting kicked out of the zoom calls. I haven't tried beta 7 but hopefully its better than 5.
