EDIT: issue officially recognised by Apple
I have the Zens Liberty Wireless charger and I noticed that it's not working properly with the iPhone 12. I think this might be due to the fact that it's a "AirPower"-like device that has multiple coils, and magnets (MagSafe) obviously interferes with Qi chargers.
Can anyone with a multi-coil "free placement" charger test? For example the new Nomad Charger or the Zens Liberty?

Confirmed Qi chargers not working with the iPhone 12/Pro

Likely the position of the coil inside your Qi charger is not aligning properly with the iPhone 12. People have reported successes with other brands and there’s a thread on it.

I doubt it. The Zens has multiple coils so the phone can be placed anywhere, and the coils are stationary. All other Qi devices work without problems (iPhone 8, AirPods, Android Phone, iPhone 11). The only culprit is the iPhone 12.

The only thing I've noticed is that so far the i12Pro is more twitchy about where I have to put the phone on the charger for it to light up. I use an Anker stand charger on my desk at home and a Spigen stand charger at work, and the phone sees those both fine. But I have an Anker lay-down disc charger on the nightstand by the bed and my X wasn't nearly so particular about my getting the phone centered on the pad as the i12Pro is.

Yup. I think the reason is before the coil didn't need to be perfectly centered to start working.
But not because the coil on the iPhone is surrounded by magnets (which interfere), nothing will happen until the coil is perfectly inside the magnet ring.

Way for Apple to ruin Qi charging

You mean way for Zen to produce a gimmick charger that has a questionable design. After Apple tried for 2 years and failed to make this product, deeming it unsafe, I would NEVER buy a similar attempt from someone else.

1. Not the same as AirPower
2. It’s not because Apple couldn’t do it that others can’t.
3. Pretty sure you would have gotten down on both knees to get the AirPower, yet you call this “a gimmick”.

Works great with my mophie Qi charger
I've got an older style Mophie charger which works just fine, and a slightly newer model Mophie charger which does not work fine. It refuses to charge an iPhone 12 Pro at all.

Both my wife and I have 12 Pros, and both have the same newer charger, and both refuse to charge in any position. We've tried and tried to make it centered, but it just starts flashing the light (on the charger).

At this point, I'm assuming it's due to the magnets/metal used for MagSafe. We kept the older chargers when we upgraded a year or so ago, and will switch back to those for now.

(They are both black, round pucks -- the older one uses a round barrel type connector to attach to the puck, while the newer style uses MicroUSB to attach to the puck.)

Btw, I think there is a bug in ios 14 may be. Sometimes my iPhone X and iPhone 12pro both refuse to charge on my ESR Qi charger (the lights are flashing), but after reboot it charges just fine. Had run into this two times already in last week or two.

AirPower attempted to solve the positioning problem, and failed because the solution was unsafe. Anyone who makes a similar product is making an unsafe product. MagSafe has fixed it better.

Sorry I'm still not impressed with your cheap Chinese knockoff of AirPower. I particularly like the reviews that say you can literally smell it overheating when charging 2 devices. Lol. Wow.

Can you please let us know what's the model of your charger? :)

Got two Choetech J-T511-S-WH flat chargers. Work provided iPhone 8 and my old XS charge fine on them, new iPhone 12 (non-pro) will only charge after a reboot, with or without a case, on both of them.
