well they did the opposite last year

....Which tactfully placed the 2017 X right next to the holiday buying season as well, even though there were rumors suggesting supplier constraints at the time.

But still my point was, there is a separation to have the phones not have any conflation, which inherently was the theme this year.

iPhone XR is sold out across China with a 1-2 week delay for all colors and capacities.

Most people don't seem to understand the purpose of XR. It was designed for Chinese consumers in mind. You won't see it sold out in the U.S. as those consumers aren't yet in the habit of carrying phablets.

At my nearest Apple store (Surrey, British Columbia) and online in Canada, every single colour and storage configuration is available for delivery or in-store pick-up on October 26.

Umm - all models are now 1-2 weeks in UK Apple store.
That's every colour in every configuration. Which is pretty crazy.
Must have sold somewhat well for ALL configurations to now be out of stock.

Yeah, it's pretty surprising.
I wonder if Apple prepared for a specific projected 'demand' and whether they expected this so early on.

Well £750 isn’t cheap and 256 is still £900.

The max is exorbitant but the Xr is still expensive in the grand scheme of things.

Oh I agree, I was being tongue in cheek haha.
£750 is NOT cheap. I am swapping out my XS Max for it as I'll be saving a lot of money going for an XR (which I could do with right now) and I love the look of it. Yes, even over the Max.

720p display that will cost you over $850.00 will not sell out.

i returned iphone xs max and now using iphone 8 regular which has 720p resolution. Honestly i dont find any difference between 1080p and 720p resolution while watching youtube videos, browsing, photos. I guess ppl are unsure how 720p will look on the XR. I guess they will see XR first at store and then decide to buy or not.
