Is tomorrow the day? I hope so as my 2013 iMac is all jacked up and won’t install any MacOS version. It always freezes and stop on the Apple logo and loading bar. Ironically I can install Windows 10 just fine so that’s what I am stuck with right now. I miss Mac OS.

I would love it. Sadly, I think tomorrow won't be the day. I would love to be wrong though :)

Yeah, same. I have a 2013 iMac stuck on macOS Catalina that's just catching dust. I want to replace my MacBook Pro with a bigger screen and not limited by a battery. The 21.5" iMac would be perfect for that.

I hope tomorrow is the day. Ignore anybody who says otherwise! ;)

I think we are still a good ways off.
Unfortunately you're probably right. I think there would be more reports about an imminent release if we were truly that close. Then again.. Apple slipped out the M1 Mac mini and absolutely nobody saw that coming.

Edit: And I totally forgot about the model identifiers in the beta software and the discontinued 21.5" iMac configs.... Those were pretty good indicators. Hmmmm

iMac Pro is not coming out this year (if at all). Its sales would eat into the Mac Pros sales. Not happening. If it was to release, it would be mid 2020 at the earliest with a regular iMac update in 2021. Apple isn't going to release two high-end machines aimed at professionals in the same quarter.
Looks like I was pretty spot on with my comment in 2019. iMac Pro is dead and the new iMac is heavily rumored for this year.

iMacs - very unlikely
That was a typo for "likely" I assume, right? ;)

Precisely. See my timeline of events from earlier in this thread.

It's quite possible everything will be pushed to WWDC not out of a desire to show it then, but because the global chip shortage means Apple just can't make enough new product (iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, iMac/iMac Pro, Air Tags, etc.) right now to support a March/April launch as originally planned.

So push everything to June when they have had a couple/few extra months to stockpile product to support the initial demand rush post-announcement.

I mean in 2017 WWDC we had the introduction of the 10.5" iPad Pro, the introduction of the iMac Pro alongside general iMac updates and the the HomePod launched with an extensive introduction. So it is not like there is no precedent for a heavy hardware launch presence at a WWDC.

I don't think they will show up on the 20th. This new iMac and MacBooks need a more important space, so I guess we will see some of them at WWDC or at the end of the year, when are the most important product presentations.

iOS 15, macOS 12, etc... they all need important valuable space too. iMac deserves its own event honestly.

Hehehehehe.
To be honest though, seeing that it is actually an EVENT then I guess we need to get more than just iPads and Airtags. So, iMac IS a real possibility unless there is another device/thing to talk about.
What would be cool? Announce everything including the Apple consumer display. That would be an awesome event:

iPads Pro
Airtags (who cares about this crap anyway)
Apple TV
iMac
MBPs
Apple Cinema Display 2.0
Mac Mini update (so it gets M1X and you can plug in your newly awesome ACD)

Worldwide
WApril
DEvent
Conference

I think they will try to keep the lineup as steady as possible, sticking to the old designs but with new innards. There is enough thats new even without a new chassis. A new iMac design might come 2022 or even later.

You are right, but honestly, iOS 15 I don't expect it to come with major changes, nor macOS 12. I think last year they already gave some huge changes (widgets, new design, new features, etc).

Other years hardware has been presented at WWDC (iPhone 4, iPad Pro 2017, Mac Pro, etc). It's not the usual, but I think it would be a good time to present "the new Mac era", with the M1X or M2, or whatever they are called, new designs, new OS.

The software changes could be big. We honestly don't know how much fluff will be put into WWDC.

Nope, that is not happening. iMac will get new design. There is no way Apple will start new iMac with M chip without a redesign especially as bigger screens are rumoured. New design at this point is pretty much given.

2022 or later? Man, not going to happen. Apple will want to show us their new direction and what is the best product to kick it off with? iMac!
With the accumulated rumours for months there is just no way we get old design with just internals. I'm sorry to say but you are simply not on the right assumption here

Nah. Software this year will not be big most likely or definitely not overall. Last year they did big thing with Big Sur so this year will be improvements, stability, security etc.
new iMac would be easily added there OR Mac Pro Mini showcased with ACD maybe?

I think you need to come to terms with WWDC having some hardware this year (unless its all dumped on us next week) :)

I don't think it needs a more important space (Apple sell a lot more iPads, so they would be more important), but a new iMac could well be more suited to WWDC if it had anything that developers needed to take into account, such as the rumoured Lifuka GPU. I would like to see the new iMac as soon as possible, but if a wait was for something that made it better, I wouldn't mind.
