I’ve never heard this much complaining about a YouTube video here before until this video. None has been bitching about needing a time stamp for a video. And every single one of these people making Apple related content on YouTube wants your money except just if then throw in 4-5 Ads (majority of them in the middle of the video). This guy has an as at the end of the video. You could scroll through the thing in less than a minute if you tried. Still this video is the one oriole bitch about time stamps and “post the real source instead”.
Maybe I’m not getting it. Could you please explain what is bothering you with this video? And what’s different about this one vs the standard/usual guys that are linked in this thread?

Ok, so if you still don't get it then let me chip in.

First, you don't need twitter to read tweets especially here where its inserted. That itself discredits you a bit but lets continue.

The video was posted with tag "new leaks" but the video didn't really leak anything and it was waste of time. The only thing that was needed was the tweet and nothing else.
The issue I have with this video (not the guy) is the content.

I like Rene, I don't like Max. In fact, Max irritates me as a person even though his content is usually nice.

So its all down to preferences but if you watch tech a lot then eventually you reach a point where all "wannabe" youtubers copy each other, do clickbaits pictures/logos/texts etc. just to trick you into watching it. At that stage you feel 'betrayed' and if it was possible I would ask for refund of that revenue so that the content creators stop with this clickbait nonsense.

On topic though - The tweet was enough to get the ball rolling. Instead we got someone posting stuff that had been mentioned before so there isn't much new stuff except really the tweet.

Anyway, we are just hungry for new stuff so any nonsense like CPU monkeys etc. is just annoying :-D

Have you thought about that not everyone uses twitter? Maybe most of us hear new rumors through this site or YouTube channels posting about them.
Well if you feel that people shouldn’t be able to make money of off YouTube and don’t want to contribute to it or whatever your point is, then I assume you don’t watch the other guys such as Rene, Max, Marcus etc?... if you do, then why this thing against this dude whatever his name was that Homy linked in this thread (what makes you want to contribute to their channels but not this guy? What’s different except they earn a whole lot of more cash from their videos?).

You don't have a twitter account to read tweets. I don't have a twitter account. Also, the forum automatically inserts tweets in posts when you post the URL.
I know that. I said what if you don’t use Twitter. You know weird people like us that doesn’t like social media (but do like forums) and stay out of it to a degree. If I posted a video and you started bitching about that I should instead have posted this source from a tweet and that kink to another Mac rumor page like Appleinsider I’d just have laughed and felt that it’s not my job to find the sources and post those in the thread and that I just tried to be nice posting a link to a video I just watched with some new info which happened contained a tweet from someone etc.

Still wondering what’s different from when someone posts a link to one of Rene’s videos.
Only difference I noticed was the British accent, slightly less “humourish”, less nice background and of course that Rene is very much more white (whatever that now have to do with it)

^^^ If you're going to post something like that, at least post a time stamp with the relevant info, instead of making people sift through junk, if you already know there is junk there. The forum members here can still choose to watch the whole thing if they want.

No, you didn't even have to sit through "the junk". Just like the video it seems that you again didn't even bother to read my answer. As I said the main source, the tweet, is literally at the start of the video after just 9 s. No time stamp was needed so please stop complaining about me "making people sit through junk".

ffs, this has nothing to do about skin colour or accent or anything discriminatory that you might be applying here. So stop it right there and don't be that guy!

I also like Rene, Max not so much but he is someone I tolerate nowadays anyway so some progress!

I understand what I mean but I felt this video wasn’t one of those wannabe clickbaity things that’s why I reacted a bit aggressively, so sorry about that, I also get a bit grumpy after a fix of the golden brown and it might have played a slight roll in it as well.

Anyway my point I was trying to make but kind of lost the boll in was that I feel it’s great people are trying to create content but the click bait thing is terrible, it destroys the platform and I wish it could be dealt with some way and maybe there should be a refund button for the ads you’ve had to watch to kill that trend, not to get your money back but instead choose a charity to donate it to or whatever just stop people not doing good content from getting money if the user isn’t satisfied I mean in most countries people get refunds for everything physical (and some digital as well) you buy so why not when you pay with your time?...

I think we agree about most things but I didn’t actually find this guy’s channel as a clockbaity one but he might be, it was just the first I heard about these things and I’m very eager for new Macs and especially with M1X and even more preferably M2X (which I’m hoping will come as an option sometime this year) and he was the first one talking about those chips in a video so it might have clouded my judgement a tiny bit.

All well!

Where was this "stuff" mentioned before? I have followed this thread for a long time and can't remember any post about the tweet. Just because you have seen the information before doesn't mean others have. The thread here is also 415 pages long so I may have missed such previous posts about the tweet. I find Max Tech's videos recently more annoying than this video. Max Tech has turned into a rumors channel with lots of speculative conclusions for clickbating.

No worries, I may have been a little irritated too so no harm done. The only thing I will fight you against is the 'hinting' of discrimination which I have zero tolerance to.

But yeah, he wasn't clickbait or at least not in obvious way but I just didn't like the context of how this whole started and then it escalated. Lets move on

Haha I just couldn’t help myself, I’m usually the “racist” claimed by very white people.
Though I actually wondered what was different about this video and one of Renes and why people can post his videos here but not some random guys but no, I never thought you guys were about that. I was just messing with you and I hope you and other people see the issues with letting people throw those accusations around for no apparent reason just because someone has criticism on someone being colored (unless the criticism actually is about that persons color, but how many sane people is like that...).
Anyway I thought the video was a ton better than the usual wannabe videos. Especially the audio (even though a little reverb, yeah sadly thirst acoustic foam panels doesn’t work very well for anything but high frequencies) so we all have our opinions but the video wasn’t really what’s interested but the “leak” and I really don’t care I’d it’s in a tweet or a video especially if it’s in the beginning of a video but I can see some prefer tweets but please be advised you won’t always get what you want and have to take what life gives you, trust me I know, I really know... so unless MR sets up rules about rumors needs to be posted in a tweet I think people will have to see a few minutes of a video sometimes. Maybe you can take turns and one of you can find the source on twitter and post it.
I’m an IT guy but I seriously don’t know how to find my way around twitter but I think that might say more about me than twitter but just remember to actually be kind to those that actually do something kind to you. Because I’m sure Homy meant no harm in posting that YouTube link even if it might feel like it.

Are you not paying attention? We asked next time to post the tweet instead of 7 mins video. You positioned it wrongly (to me) and I was going through the whole 7 mins to see what else is there only to find out it was nothing but the tweet.

Let me exaggerate for illustration purposes. Lets say I post a video thats 25mins long and tag will be - awesome leaks and you will sit through it to find out it wasn't. Maybe you will not watch anything from me ever again.

Your message was the tweet so why not post just that? The video didn't really help in anyway and it just wasted everyone's time. :)

Anyway, enough with this rambling, next time I will be more selective. :)

Sorry for the reaction but I feel its justified

Yes let’s move on, and Freida don’t worry everyone’s entitled to their own reaction and blabla. Bringing up race was just a “prank”, if it wasn’t obvious (I actually said it in the post to not cross to much over the line).
I honestly despise those people doing it when not obviously called for and I got kind of a bad conscious as soon as I posted the last post so sorry about that! I did however feel that it Mithras get people talking about what was the problem with the video. I don’t mind videos that relate a few stuff I already know... Rene does that to, actually ice not gotten any new info from Rene but sometimes he has a way of discussing things which can make me think a bit more realistic about things etc... and I guess that’s why I follow him. I understand you might be more picky about what you’re wasting time time on. I’ve gone more towards letting productivity stuff stealing time from my time wasting instead of the other way around... makes me feel A slight nostalgia thinking about the productive times. Ah..

I still feel Homy did nothing wrong and of course you other people neither, it’s totally fine to ask for the tweet instead but please tolerate people posting a link even if you don’t feel like watching it because others might. I mean either everyone’s videos related to the topic is fine or none’s videos are and of course less people will want to watch the no name guy or girl but we might miss our on our next YouTube-star if people needs to have 1000000+ subscribers before they can be posted and what a shame that would be! All the time we would use productively instead of looking for the next best rumors. Haha.
No but seriously a lot of us is probably very eager in news because the M1 Macs are not enough powerful in enough areas to transition over from x86 and x86 is already too much in the past and too little in the future to buy into with thousands of dollars right now and it’s been kind of hard on most of us with Apple/intel thermal limitation and other issues for the last couple of years. I know I’ve been waiting and waiting for about 8 years now without actually buying the Mac I’m after but instead buying something to help me getting through.

Because I’m sure Homy meant no harm in posting that YouTube link even if it might feel like it.
You have many valid points that were left unanswered. This is the second time I get similar complaints on this site about posting a video. People complain like mindless bots or spoiled children that I don't summarize the video, I waste their time, I don't put time stamps, I don't post the original sources, I post clickbates and junks, I post videos nobody wants to see etc. All because they want everything served to them, because they value their time more than me wanting me to "waste" my time doing their job, because they don't even bother to watch a few seconds or scroll through, because in their opinion it's old news and not interesting... the list goes on.

So my advice to such people is that not everything here circles around you, your time and your opinion about what is old or new or boring or exiting. Nobody has put a spell on you and put a gun to your head forcing you read or watch anything. If you want to go to the original source do it after 9 s instead of watching the whole video. If you get the impression that it's old news and junk stop watching or don't watch at all if you don't recognize the source, but don't expect me to summarize, post time stamps, look up all the sources in the video and post them separately and other things like that because I don't work as news reporter and don't get paid by sharing, in my opinion, a useful or interesting link.

Will a 30+" iMac Pro arrive in 2021?

If had to choose Yes or No right now...I would say, No.

Here's why:

- Apple has announced a 2-year transition to Apple Silicon.
- It took Apple 6 months from the release of the initial batch of low-end Apple Silicon Macs to release the next (and probably last) new Mac with the same M1 they had 6 months ago.
- As the second half of 2021 approaches and the low end Macs are out of the way, Apple's next step with Apple Silicon will be with their most popular Pro machines: the (soon to be) 14" MacBook Pro and 16" MacBook Pro.
- The new MBP's are not expected until the fall, and it is very unlikely to me that any such iMac Pro would be ready any sooner.
- I presume we'll see the iMac Pro launch around this same time next year (2022). And the final Apple Silicon Mac Pro at the end of 2022, completing the 2 year transition exactly on schedule.

As much as it pains me to think we have to wait that long for a proper large screen Apple Mac with Apple Silicon, I would not bet a single dollar on it coming before then.

Are you not paying attention? We asked next time to post the tweet instead of 7 mins video. You positioned it wrongly (to me) and I was going through the whole 7 mins to see what else is there only to find out it was nothing but the tweet. Your message was the tweet so why not post just that? The video didn't really help in anyway and it just wasted everyone's time.

Aren't you paying attention? I DIDN'T DISCOVER THE TWEET FIRST. I got a Youtube recommendation and the tweet was a part of the video. He also explained things later in the video (code names) that I didn't know about and found interesting. So what is more natural after seeing "an interesting" video? To post the video or to look up the different tweets one by one and and post them separately?

I positioned it neither wrongly nor right. I just shared a video that was new to ME and apparently others too but you again saying "it just wasted everyone's time" explains your attitude. I'm not the content maker and if you choose to go on and feed your hunger for further rumors ending up disappointed it's your choice only. So please stop blaming me for "positioned it wrongly". It's not my job to first watch the video and then look up the sources and post them for you. All this discussion for not wanting to fast-forward a minute. Yes, it's better that some people won't watch my posted videos again. Then I won't have to waste MY time on such unnecessary discussions again.

Wise words Homy. And to others please read carefully and calm (ops more posts posted I was referring to the post above but it’s not like I’m not agreeing with the one above, just clarifying).
Maybe see a point or two in his post. He’s not attacking you but explaining the kind of absurd thing that he should summarize a video while none else has had to or even been asked to do so when they’ve posted videos.
I mean. Is his time less valuable than yours? He at least took the time to post the video and it’s up to anyone to watch it I’d they want to. If you don’t want to and still want to know if there’s anything interesting in it maybe just kindly if someone that actually watched it can do so. I’m sure we’re plenty!

Sadly (not really... haha) this became a bit heated but we’re all friends right?

It’s hard to know what people have seen and read and those that doesn’t visit this thread regularly on a daily bases probably don’t know what leaks and news have came out.
I watched a few seconds of the video again just now and I won’t get any ads until the end so I’d say this is not the regular clickbait you were talking about.
But well that’s just my thoughts about it.

I most of all felt quite sorry for the guy that made the video. He seems sincere in my eyes and I’d he reads on this forum I’d hate for him to read about his work being “junk” because it really isn’t objectively. Maybe you that feel that are wasting to much time on these sites and forums (I’m guessing more then those 10 min that the video is seen in) and therefore maybe you’re not seeing this is a guy working hard trying to make good content (probably with the hopes of making some money in this in the future but is ready to put in the work).
I’m also sad to hear Homy that you’ve gotten this criticism before because posting topic related videos (unlike a large chunk of the last couple of posts, me included of course) shouldn’t be attacked the way you were.
Anyway I hope we can move on and really soon get some exciting news on new Macs! Guys/girls, you know the things which brought us all together albeit being different people living in different parts of the world to this forum.
Maybe it’s time for us to sing We Shall Overcome now?! :)

Hello, for my part, new on this forum whose title is "Will a> 30" redesigned iMac arrive in 2021? "I think that many confuse between" normal "range and" pro "range, thinking that the 30" / 32 "would be reserved for Pro models. This is already a first mistake for me because I don't think that those who today have a 27" are all pros.

Seen from my side, I expected another iMac, without this chin and with almost nonexistent borders such as a "monitor" see a little thicker because the technology must find its place. The change in processor and colors were more or less predictable for this new iMac. But from there to keep this chin and these borders, do not encourage me to declare it as "new iMac" it is a bit for me an evolution on an existing model which it is, it is true, physically weakened but that's all. For the famous 30 "/ 32" to come, I hope there will be other more visible changes with improvements to M1, Bluetooth 5.2, smaller borders or without, smaller chin if they cannot / want to make it disappear even if it makes the model a little thicker as a whole. The power supply including the Ethernet port is, in my opinion, a good thing. As for the available ports (between 2 and 4) on the back or elsewhere (why not on the lower edge) they will be used according to the needs of each: 1 second screen and any other device because to date WIFI connections allow a lot of things and the transfer by AirDrop also helps.
Good day to you.

Also, accusing that particular video of having a misleading title and offering no meaningful content, whilst praising Rene Ritchie ?
God, I used to love Rene but his titles and thumbnails have become so insufferable that I can't stand to click on the videos. And yes, as you said, they are usually lacking in substance. He's capable of providing great insight and analysis, but he makes so many videos from nothing that you're looking for the needle in the haystack. Quite frankly it pisses me off when I see those 'MAJOR {} LEAK BOMBS' videos come up in my feed when I know damn well nothing of value has leaked recently.

Apple did not need the two full years to complete the PowerPC to Intel transition and with Apple Silicon, they own the IP.

And I believe the 24" iMac was meant to release earlier than it did based on all the rumors and leaks. I believe supply chain issues with something other than the M1 was what delayed the release - my guess is the case or the 4.5K display.

We know the 14" and 16" MBP are happening as we have (leaked) official Quanta production documents to that effect. It is unlikely these will have the current M1 SoCs, but if they do, then again, it would be supply-chain issues with other components that delayed them to whenever they come out. If they have a more powerful ("M1X") or newer-generation M-series ("M2") SoC , then we know it was that which has been holding them up.

We know A15 arrives in September or October because it has to for iPhone 13. And we can be pretty sure that the next M-series SoC will be based on the A15 so it should be ready at the same time. I am assuming the A15 / "M2" will be on the existing 5nm process so production volume should not be an issue and TSMC should be able to pump out a million M2 to support the MacBook Pros, "Mac mini Pros" and "iMac Pro" in addition to the tens of millions of A15 they will be making for the iPhone. And if we see yet another scaled iPhone release (non-Pro models first, then the Pros) that is even more fab capacity for the M2.

I'm starting to believe we will not see an "M1X" and instead we will see "M2" as the SoC for the new MacBook Pros, "Mac mini Pros" and "iMac Pro". We might see a teaser for these at WWDC with availability later in the year, or they will just talk about the A15 and M2 at WWDC and we will wait for the Fall for the products to be formally announced.

I firmly believe the chin is there on the 24" because it needs to be - to support the logic board, to help with cooling, to allow the speakers to perform better, a mix of reasons, whathaveyou.

If the "Big Brother" iMac / iMac Pro goes with soldered on-package RAM (in larger available capacities) then I believe we will also see a chin. If they go with user-accessible off-package RAM, then they would have to make the case thicker to allow for that and then I could see them possibly not having a chin because they would have the case depth necessary to support the logic board, speakers and on-board AC / DC power conversion.

I am also wondering if we will see both a new 27" 5K iMac and then the 32" 6K Liquid Retina XDR iMac Pro. MCK said Apple was sourcing a 27" 5K MiniLED panel in early 2020 and releasing a new 27" iMac would allow Apple to have a larger Mac starting at $1999 and then they could put the expensive Liquid Retina XDR 32" 6K display into the iMac Pro and start at $2999 or higher to cover that cost.

I believe Rene is doing these as "compilation videos" for all the leaks released that week and his intended audience is for folks who don't scour MacRumors (and other sites) for these leaks. :)
