It really depends on what it is. For a while I was desperate to upgrade my 3G, but then I got a new battery and now I have around 20hours battery life, and I don't really want video. If it has WiFi, then its very likely I'll get it.

Same here I have a 3G that I wanna get rid of, but I need a extremely good reason to. I mean photos and videos are nice but 6G has to be way beyond just that for me to wanna make the leap. If it can be an iPhone without the phone, with a good price, I'm probably in. If it's even better I'm getting it as soon as I can, which won't be too difficult because I live in NYC.

nope, no plans to buy a new one. i have too many ipods as it is - no need for another one for the collection. although i hope i'm not speaking too soon - i do love new gadgets after all. if the new ipod is fantastic, i could see selling my 5g 60gb to fund a new one...

As long as something nice comes out, I'll definitely get to the Apple Store that afternoon and hopefully come home with one.

I like buying iPods, there cool, but I have used my 80G once since getting my iPhhone, I can't bring myself to sell that, I can't see any reason I need a new one. I would like to though.

I lost yet another barely used iPod a couple of months back and really didn't bother to do anything about it.

I have other players, all of which are better than any comparable iPod in terms of the player itself... but I'm beginning to miss the no-braineriness of the iPod hard/soft combo.

I think the time may be right to throw in the towel and rejoin the iPod Horde.

If there is a new nano that plays video and comes in 16GB (or more!) I will get one straight away. I have a few hundred £s just waiting to be given to Apple!
My only worry is that if I also get an iPhone, whenever it comes to England, my lovely new nano will not get used. :(

I'll be first in line to buy the new iPod, but I've got conditions

if it has wifi, is widescreen, and has over 100+ gig capacity, I'll be first in line, but if not... I guess I'll keep holding out until those features are available in an iPod.

I sold my 60 gig video in anticipation of this wednesday, and I know Apple will come through with some amazing stuff.

This is an iPod, not an iPhone. It might have WiFi, but with limited ability to support iTunes, the iTunes Store, and maybe YouTube. You are dreaming if you think the features you mention are going to happen.

Yup, if it has Safari then I can go on Meebo and use MSN,GTalk etc. on my iPod:) and also send free text messages (my school has WiFi all over). Also with the mic accessories (if not built in) I'm sure there will be a way to use Skype Out on it.

Unless there are some major ipod core changes (native flac and ogg support, drag and drop file system for music to be how i organise it) it seems unlikely I will be able to get one until there is a rockbox port (and quite frankly I am happy with rockbox on my 5.5 anyway)

I am seriously digging the ipod fattie, I love it! Right now I have a video ipod, it was my first ipod, so I feel kind of attached to it...yes, weird, I know

Well, my 4G iPod has been dead since March. I've been using my cell phone for music right now, but that doesn't measure up to the iPod in the slightest. If they make an iPod with the qualities of the iPhone's iPod, then I'll buy one on the day of release.

do u think i will be able to walk into my 5th avenue apple store and pick up a new ipod on wednesday???

I just got a new bank account and they put a hold on my transfer for my old one so i will have to wait till the morning of the 6th before I can order it. I am still trying to decide if I go to an Apple store to get it or if I buy it online and get it engraved. I am really hoping they don't offer engravings on the new one (They don't on the iPhone) to make my decision easier.

I have a 4g 40GB monochrome iPod and it's still doing a great job. My phone allows me to get streaming video and audio and play small screen games, so I don't see the need to upgrade my iPod.

I'd like to have a lot of things but iPods have to change a lot more than the rumours to get my attention.

Lucky....

The nearest Apple Store to me is Southampton (im in the UK) and I can't get there easily... plus I don't have enough money (becasue i'm 15) at the moment... so i'm going to be hoping to get one at x-mas... I have it all worked out... I can sell my iPod Nano for about £100, use my £100 x-mas money and my birthday money (£60) to buy a touch screen iPod... I just hope it isn't over £260... or i'll be really annoyed...

I'm hoping for a 120GB version, I'm sick of having to delete music from my 60GB photo to make space for new stuff and the battery is now starting to die after 2.5 years of constant use.

I'm not really bothered about playing videos and films, so touch-screen and full screen display aren't a deal breakers for me but I wouldn't mind them if they are offered.

As long as it doesn't get too expensive and stays focused on being first and foremost a music player, I'll be happy.
