For £1500 it would need to have at least 500GB of storage, Apple Pencil support and a desktop mode like Samsung Dex.

The problem with any phones that's in a 4 digit price point is that while you may be able to justify it on its own, it becomes hard to justify when you see something "equivalent" bundled in a promotion.

For instance, Samsung currently has a promotion in my country for any QLED TV above a Q85R (which means the Q85R, Q90R and the 8K models) you get an S10 thrown in. I also see the Q85R and Q90R model at 15% off at my local department store. So I could grab the Q90R 55" plus an S10 at 2.125€. When you have that any 1,000€ phone looks a lot.

In the past, so we all think the price of iphone around 700 or 800? later on they jump to $ 1,449 which is now , so the price increases who can stop it,

That price is for the flagship model with the biggest storage though, I believe this thread is discussing the starting price of the iPhone.
I doubt very much Apple will have sold many iPhone Max 512GB models, compared to the cheaper models.

I would also add, this year it’s heavily rumoured by all the ‘trusted’ sources the XR will get a dual lens camera, next year those same sources are claiming the XR will get an OLED screen.
Now given Apples pricing strategy that XR will cost the same as last year, maybe a slight increase, so who would spend 1600 on a phone with a .4” bigger screen, maybe thinner yes a better camera, but the current one is damn near perfect for a phone as it is! Plus they’ll both be OLED and my guess is the XR will be at least 1080P, again more then good enough.

Apple are positioning the XR as the main stream seller at a higher price point then the 4.7” main stream models were, but less then the flagship models, again just shows they won’t price them at 1600.
The XS won’t make much sense unless you want a smaller phone, that’s why it lacks zoomed screen mode I think, it’s a marketing ploy, small screen means small screen, want that bigger text get an XR or Max i.e. a bigger phone, which also do support zoomed screen mode.

That’s of course unless they launch a new SE..

Not saying starting 1,699$
highest model price 1,699$ << which is biggest storage,

I think this post is kind a informative poll for the companies to understand that people have a price limit..spending 1000 plus dollars on a mobile phone does not make sense even if you have alot of money.

You'd be surprised. There is someone on this forum that bought the 512 gig Max, not because the storage was needed but for the sole reason that it was the most expensive one and she apparently had some kind of image to maintain. She was totally clueless to the fact the no one would even know it was the most expensive model unless she actually told them. Yes, there are people like this in the world.:)

Next thread:

Will you by the next iPhone if it cost $3000.....’

OK, I think it’s blatantly obvious by now that the economy/average consumer isn’t willing to spend $1000, and not really anyone else is willing to spend $1600 either.

Even the select few members on here who pay cash for their phones, probably would think twice about paying that much for an iPhone, let alone any smart phone.

We all know titrau will buy two of them at $5000 and then disappear for another year until they cost $6000, at which point he will come back and start posting gibberish again.

I wouldn't pay $1600 for a phone when I already have a phone in my pocket that provides an identical experience.

We throw around $1000 on this forum like it's not THAT big of a deal, but look around and think about what else $1000+ buys - it buys a LOT of other things when you start looking around, things you'd probably rather have/need more so than a redundant spend of what you already have in your pocket.

There's better things I can do with $1700 than buy the latest top of the line iPhone.

A $799 128GB iPhone XR will accomplish 100% of the things I'd be doing on a higher end iPhone at a fraction of the cost. Heck, even the iPhone 7 already does the trick.
Like buy another iPad?
[doublepost=1564327357][/doublepost]It would suck but yes.

Lol, yes actually.

Even for the iPad though (my primary device), I'm not willing to spend $1700. Last year was the first time I didn't upgrade for top storage on day one. I'm kinda waiting for the 11" 1TB LTE (unlocked) iPads to drop to around $1200.

Hey you'll get no argument here, I love my iPads as well. I guess the way I justify paying a lot for an iPhone is I use it as much out of the house as I do my iPads at home.

So old price chart
xxxxxx1099- xxxxx1249. xxxx-1449

new price
1299. xxx 1499. xxxx1699. ( really likely will )
I know it dam expensive but no choice >> :D

So..we’re apparently talking about the XS Max in the US...basically:

64gb: $200 increase
256gb: $250 increase
512gb: $250 increase

So my question would be, what is the value add? Am I paying an extra 200-250 for an extra camera? If that’s it, then the answer is “No”. Apple can kick rocks.

Also, what would be making the larger capacity phones $50 more than the base model? This scenario seems weird and unlikely to me.
