Im pretty sure that would leave the files in the same place they currently are, i just cannot imagine what files would be causing the problem!

The audio does play but it is SO low. I changed the volume to the highest on the computer and on the speakers and it still sounds so low.

Anyone else have this problem?

Just tried my links on my dad's work laptop and mom's dell. It works... This is puzzling...:confused::confused:

Now works but i had to edit the link to get it to work i.e. remove 'w ww.http.com' from the URL

EDIT: Also cut out

A torrent also works, thats all im gonna say.

Thats just too much effort. I'd have to download a torrent client and then open ports...then wait hours because let's face it torrents aren't known for being speed demons

Im done...going to bed

Heres a quote from lifehacker

Microsoftie Brandon LeBlanc admits that the Windows 7 beta release scramble "was not ideal" and says the company will extend its availability beyond the 2.5M cap until January 24th.

We have clearly heard that many of you want to check out the Windows 7 Beta and, as a result, we have decided remove the initial 2.5 million limit on the public beta for the next two weeks (thru January 24th). During that time you will have access to the beta even if the download number exceeds the 2.5 million unit limit." so I guess all that rush was for no reason.

The number pad on my slim keyboard doesn't work in the beta. Anyone know whats wrong? I already installed all the drivers.

Are the brightness or the sound up/down buttons working?

just installed windows 7 beta. install went smooth. pretty quick actually. audio worked right off the bat. network doesnt work. device manager shows the correct wifi card. says i have limited connectivity. all troubleshooting things tried. still doesnt work. says the network is unidentified even though its connected to specific network. it also set my monitor to the wrong resolution so things looked a little warped at first. i was able to fix that at least.

overall im not that impressed. basically looks like vista renamed something else. animations are all off by default. making it seem faster when its really not. start bar is large and ugly imho. osx is way better. if i was forced to use windows i would still use xp.

i will mess with the network more later. no idea whats goin on with that.

Just one question before I take the plunge into Windows 7. Can I install the drivers using my grey system restore discs on the 64-bit version of Windows 7? Does the drivers on my disc have 64-bit versions or ...?

The drivers for 64bit Vista on that disk should work, but if you read through the thread, you will see that it works for some and not for others. To avoid any problems, I would stick with 32bit, as I know the drivers (minus the sound card) install and work without issue. Also, you won't see that much of a performance boost running 64bit anyway unless the apps are compiled to run at 64bit, which most commercial apps are not.

Right, I'm downloading and gonna burn the 32-bit version right now. Since I'm only playing around with Windows 7, 32-bit vs 64-t bit is moot to me.

Just to make sure you are right, I am using a white MacBook (Santa Rosa) that I purchased in Late 2007. I'm not questioning your information, just to insure that you are correct. I never ventured into 64-bit Windows before, always using 32-bit versions like XP Pro and Vista Ultimate 32-bit, so I'm kinda cautious.

Hold on!!!
:runs in: Late breaking news! I was wrong!

Seems that if you have over 4GB of RAM, in order to use the extra 500MB and whatever memory is on your graphics card, you need to run a 64bit OS. If you want, wait till tomorrow. I plan on backing up the bit of data I have loaded onto my Win7 partition and installing a fresh copy of Win7 64bit as I just got myself a key for it. Will give you a heads up if the drivers work without issue or not.

I am on about my 4th attempt to download the iso.....first attempt gave out at 600 meg 2nd 800 3rd at 1.6 gig, dunno weather its my connection or a problem at the other end.........

Oh well attempt 4 is underway 1 hour 29 mins to go......

Has anyone figured out how to add an Apple bluetooth keyboard and mouse in Windows 7?

Should be able to hit the little hidden system tray icons, right-click the bluetooth icon and select "add device" then put your keyboard in discovery mode (power it off, then power it on) and it should show up.

Then select it and hit next.. choose "create a key" and type in the number it gives you on the keyboard and hit enter. It should configure it and you'll be able to use it then.

I just tested with my alu macbook on Windows 7 32bit and it worked perfectly.

Try downloading it here. You might also want to download the MP3 patch while you're there.
You can get a key here. Just follow the directions on the page. ;)

Both worked when I downloaded and got keys, even when MS's pages wouldn't load.

Hope this helps. :)
